  1. Guess the title of the thread threw you ... ... 'Cooking' oil, thread probably for people the 'cook' 😁 You would be 'eating' oil. If out, hopefully in moderation. And yes, probably Palm oil, but does get a fairly deserved bad rap. Only less saturated fat the Coconut Oil.
  2. @Hummin and myself don't disagree too much, and civil when we do. Always up to meet like minded folks, but spur of the moment, as don't do schedules. Hate needing to be anywhere at anytime.
  3. I must be smokin' the same buds, and some tasty buds they are. I'm actually amazed the auto sales haven't come to a grinding halt, the past few years, let alone increased the way they have. Well, the one sector anyway. EV sales especially since 2022, considering the economic hardship many endured since 2020. Would expect new and or 2nd vehicles would be way low on the expense budget of most. They are in good times, let alone after so many impacted by that 'situation', especially if you relied on the tourist industry for income. In two years, they, BEVs & Hybird are now everywhere, with a charging network to support them. Two major manufacturers from CN, opening dealerships in all the major markets, joining MG's network, of making EVs available basically everywhere now.

  5. Depends on what actually test they did, as the one, will usually give a positive, simply having antibodies in your system, which most people surely have by now. Which ever, speedy recovery 👍
  6. Sanctuary cities have been an issue, long before Trump entered the political scene. Been a thorn in ICE's side for over 50 yrs. Every issue is not about Trump Constitution was written 236 yrs ago, and Trump only serve for 4 years. Everything bad or good is not his fault or doing and the USA doesn't revolve around his thoughts.
  7. You could just give the province, not your house address & ph # And why ... I think that's the important part people may be curious about, and the answers may surprise some people. Especially if you moved around from original location. Some like the hustle & bustle of metro living, and has it's pros & cons. Other the opposite, and enjoy a bit of rural, if not even extreme rural. I'm in between 'rural', with no immediate neighbors (100+ meters away), but 5-10 mins from everything I need; Makro, HomePro, Global chains. Along with plenty of ma/pa options for food. Anything else, online will provide. Weather & pollution are other consideration people may be interested in. Not for me, but most important for many, the P4P & nightlife availability, and western food, for those that never cooked for themselves. The need for personal transport, if willing & able to self drive, or not. MCs aren't for everyone, and 4 wheelers can be a huge part of one's budget. So big metros & tourist areas having, is a major plus, if not wanting to own or drive.
  8. No surprise there, as they were primarily going to produce the Neta s. Since CN put a hold on that, would seem silly for TH to do it on their own. Without the Neta, makes sense to wait & see, before diving into battery production, as image that would have been for the Neta s also.
  9. Personally, I only care about the oil, fats influence on my liver, and how well it handles and processes it. From vid I posted earlier, testing results of liver #s, and Canola wins out on Ghee & Olive oil. Marginally enough for me to use Canola for most frying & baking. Still use Beef & Pork Tallow for flavor, along with Butter ... moderately of course. EVOO, I'll use for 'cold', applications; dressing, dipping bread in Already stated, Coconut (cold pressed) for 'cold' use with chocolate making. Only 3 oils I need in the house, as only buy 1 liter at time, as shelf life is limited. Get enough saturated fat in my animal fat consumption, and really don't need any more, so Canola is our 'go to', and other 2 for specialty use. Low temp cooking or cold use.

  11. The fact that you are actually at the dealer, should mean, you've done all your research, compared specs, and whittled down your choices, and simply verifying the info you found online. Get some hands on, see if you actually fit in the vehicle, ease of getting in/out of. Inspect the quality of the fit & finish. And most important, count them cup holders & USB ports Along with getting the best price ... now. #2 ... do you really want a car that isn't selling ? #3 ... price war is over, so you delayed, and your 'trade in' lost value #3 ... govt incentives no longer extended to end customer, already happening, or not as much #3 ... govt incentive fund empty, and not renewed, and missed out completely, now all back to original MSRP .... OUCH When I walk into a dealer, I'm ready to buy, not thinking about it, or I would simply be wasting my time & theirs. Dealers I wouldn't even bother with in TH ... VW, untrustworthy, submit vehicles for testing, then produce inferior products ... Toyota, untrustworthy, see above ... Suzuki, may not be around too much longer ... Nissan, also may not be around too much longer ... Honda, dealer rep precedes them, full of themselves ... Ford, why bother, buy the Mazda instead, except for trucks ... Mazda , limited & terrible dealership support ... not familiar enough with rest to form opinion Full disclosure ... I wouldn't bother with any ICEV or hybrid (complicated ICE upgrade) My choices of BEV dealers with decent history, selection, dealer network (established or getting there) ... MG ... BYD ... GWM ... Tesla, if living in Krung Thep
  12. Not really seeing any cons myself. Especially if charging at home isn't an issue, and even better if having solar. BEVs aren't for everyone, but really few reasons not to have one. ... live in a flood zone, which might include many parts of Krung Thep, if only vehicle ... over the road sales / work, when time is money, and driving long distances
  13. Did we scare the OP off or just too much conflicting replies. OP ... I'd continue using Canola. And Olive oil is fine, just low heat if using to cook with. EVOO, I would just use as dressings, as a bit pricy to cook with, and lose some flavor & nutrients in the process. Also has a lower smoke point than refined. Ultra refined, you probably lose most of the nutrients. I use it, EVOO, sparingly for dressing, salad, Mayo, and will do my eggs in the morning with a wee bit of EVOO, with butter so better won't burn. On low heat anyway, as like my eggs loose.

  15. FF aren't the problem, people are. My fried tater fix is Tater Tots, maybe once every week or two, and my height / weight is fine. Seed oils aren't the problem either, unless you eat it all the time. Usually the worst kind (hydrogenated) added to lots of processed food / snacks. Again, people are their worst enemy.
  16. Depending on the grade I use cold pressed to make my chocolate, but that's about it. Eat that sparingly , since high I saturated fat, and a caloric load. Got to have my chocolate though, and much better tasting & healthier than store bought. C oil, 100% dark cacao & wee bit of honey.... 1/3 c, 1/3 c, < 1 tbsp, just enough to cut bitterness of cacao.

Oil from fresh coconut is called virgin and oil from dried coconut (also called copra) is called refined, although the terms are not regulated. Coconut oil contains no cholesterol, tiny traces of vitamins and minerals and no fiber at all. It does contain traces of beneficial plant sterols, which may help block the absorption of cholesterol in the body, but the amount found in a typical serving of coconut oil is too small to be healthful. Also, many of the health claims you’ve likely seen for coconut oil refer to research that used a special formulation of coconut oil made of 100% medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), not the commercial coconut oil most available on supermarket shelves. MCTs have a shorter chemical structure than other types of fats, and so are absorbed and used by the body rather rapidly. After digestion, MCTs make their way to the liver where they are quickly used for energy. The theory is that this quickly absorbed form promotes satiety and prevents fat storage. The clinker in that theory? Coconut oil contains mostly lauric acid, which is not an MCT. Lauric acid is absorbed more slowly and metabolized like other long-chain fatty acids. This means that the often-touted health benefits reported from a specially constructed MCT coconut oil that contains medium-chain triglycerides other than lauric acid cannot be applied directly to commercial coconut oils that are easily found in most grocery stores. It gets worse. R.B.D. (refined, bleached and deodorized) coconut oil, which has been doused with chemicals and solvents before being subjected to high heat, raises cholesterol so quickly, brilliantly and consistently that scientists have used it as a control when experimenting with other fats. The harsh processing may destroy some of the good essential fatty acids and antioxidants. All of that said, using coconut oil in moderation can be part of a healthy diet. And there are many fine uses for coconut oil that do not involve eating it. Some of the many uses for coconut oil include the following. Cooking. Coconut oil is terrific for sautéing, searing and even frying (depending on the grade). Be aware, though, that a tablespoon of coconut oil contains about six times the amount of saturated fat as olive oil."
  19. Garfield is a bit north of central SRY beach area. Think they had AC, not sure, but we wanted to sit surfside. Cafe de Wa is more central area of SRY beach, having AC, and food was just OK. Surfside-ish and can dine in or out.
  20. You can ride surfside, a good portion of the way down to Sam Roi Yot beach. From Pranburi beach onward down. Keep on going, into and through the park area, if you wish. After a stop & munch at SRY beach. Garfield was surfside and OK food, though blended drinks were not, so might order water or beer if having. Also had a couple decent munches at Wake Up Coffee & Rest, set back from Pranburi Beach. Not scenic view, but food was good. Road out to Pa La-U Waterfall area is a nice drive. Gets a bit hilly, so may be slow going if 2 on a scooter, or rent a larger one.
