  1. Only if you are an idiot, or that just happens to be your choice. Nothing wrong with either, as long as you have the funds. Just not for me, and I have the funds. My funds are for me & mine, not theirs. You've been brainwashed. Nobody has a place, and everyone has the freedom to do as they please. Although they do need to exercise that freedom. Whatever makes a woman happy, that's what I want her to do. I know what makes happy, and that's never going to change, and pity the woman that thinks she can. Anyone hanging out with me for more than a week or 2 will understand that, and they can decide to except it, or have fun elsewhere. Probably why most never lasted 1 or 2 weeks
  2. Yes, thought that was a bit silly myself. Although, it wasn't during normal hospital hrs, and the kidney doc, has his private 'clinic' at the hospital, after hours. He is my GP. Never been charged that for hospital visits during the day. More like 100-300 baht, depending on doc and what done. But also would be an all day affair, just to get to see the doc to get the blood test referral, which quite possibly, would have been denied, since I had all the blood work done just last February. Even my GP was hesitant, till I told him I stopped the statin & changed my diet. He usually schedules / refers me to anything I want. Even did whole abdominal CT Scan (15k ?), earlier in the year, because I wanted it done, just for the hell of it. Most docs will hardly refer an ultrasound, especially since I get one about every year.
  3. On statin ... No (yes that was a typo ... oops
  4. Agree, and I'm a complete farce ... ... "Mommy, can you bring me down another PB&J with a glass of milk" Oh wait, unlike many folks hiding behind the keyboard, I'm an open book, and even have a few AN member who know me personally. Can at least verify my BS from living in Udon Thani for 16 ish years. Take your point though, and many a trolls living under the bridge
  5. Some of us do like our hobbies & toys.
  6. H2 cars been around for 20 ish yrs, no major advances, no major sales #s, no major fueling network. Don't hold you breath waiting
  7. Seem to be all located at Chiang Mai
  8. And the cost of all those tests ... link
  9. It's easy and inexpensive to stay on top of your health. Couple years of major diet adjustment, and last 6 months to a year of strict diet adjustment, very Keto-ish, and I ordered some test to see what results were. Very inexpensive to have done at govt hosp. The did miss doing the HbA1c test, though not really needed, knowing the past #s. Wanting a vitamin/mineral test, but not offered. These were requested, and not a standard package/check up program.
  10. Not sure the USA can close accounts, if have IRA/401s, as I have a few there. I simply use my brothers address & Ph#. My company pension will not deposit in non USA account, even though an international company. Main reason I keep the accounts open. Good relationship with brother and we'd do what ever for each other. I did give him one of my houses when I retired, since needing. He just mailed me my new Visa card, as they get delivered to his address. Still use USA address for those accounts. Added plus, no transaction fees on both ends when us ATM here / TH. So basically free access to my company pension when using. IRS & Soc Sec have my TH address & ph#. OT ... Plan B, none, as too old & lazy to bother. Neighboring countries, definitely not, as infrastructure not up to par with TH. Along with visa option, and I want to continue to own and invest in RE. Of course you need a trusted partner for that. If forced to leave (never happen) then probably back to USA, play nomadic tourest till bored, then maybe Canada for something more permanent or partial / split living between the 2, Canada & USA. Maybe extended holidays in Mexico or Caribbean islands during winter.
  11. Seems like a good idea. Although ... ... and unlikely to happen, but, if traveling through strict drug law country, and some official decides to make you take a urine test, then surely you'd be violating any 'use of' laws, and you may end up at a new destination.
  12. Since all the crap thrown at President Trump didn't stop him from getting elected, guess they figured no sense in wasting their money, tax dollars, clogging up the dockets, only to inevitably have him win on appeals anyway.
  13. The 'ignorance' in the title certain does explain the text of the OP. Agree completely, and not the only one, and I don't think any kind of therapy will help them. Crowd psychology seem to plague many with the same syndrome
  14. Spicy Scotch Eggs ...
  15. Never big on talking on the phone, and always had an answering machine. Only time I answered the phone, is if it was on business line. Never answer the phone, unless it's the wife, daughter, or I know something is getting delivered that day.
  16. What better way to protest violence in mid east, than creating some yourself Jews ... not a fan of their govt, and matter of fact, hate & loathe them, as scum of the earth IMHO ... think USS Liberty ... nuff said. Jews themselves, the people, only personally know the ones in my family, and pleasant folks. Only met 2, tourist here in TH, and seemed quite pleasant also, though short chat. Unless wearing a kippah, or yarmulke, don't know how I'd tell if anyone is Jewish, so can't comment or generalize about them. If they support the govt's expansion then the puts them on the negative side of things. The older sect, black hats & long curly sideburn-ish thingys, that use to control the diamond street in Philly seemed a little off putting, and never smiled. Could simply be a defense mechanism, as it was a jewelry district. Terrorist, if not the freedom fighting version, deserve death, immediate with no due process ... IMHO And keep your freedom fighting to military targets, or die miserably.
  17. Hard to read that news blip without a few 'WTF' thoughts. Leave it at that, as anything else would be really offensive and in appropriate. Hopefully a better ending, but doubtful ... R I P
  18. Couple thoughts ... ... you get what you pay for ($200) 🙄 ... buy a better rug, along with a wet vac, it will offset the pro cleaning. Spend on the rug, not cleaning. Rugs don't do well here in TH, (heat & humidity) along with crap vacuum cleaners. I don't and won't own them, though see the attraction vs walking on hard tile floors. Me ... I have 2 sets of 'foam' sandals, one for outside, and one for inside, so walking on tile is a comfortable joy. Solves both problems. Use to have full carpets, and or those fancy (expensive as hell) oriental rugs back in the ol' USA. Not very applicable here, or very expensive. Same as USA, but harder to maintain here. Good Luck, but you'll need to add another '0' to your pricing for quality, at least, if not a whole other digit.
  19. Best mouse ... the one not in my house. On topic ... I tend to buy the cheapest, and not because I'm a CC, but simply thrifty. As I seem to constantly drop them, so most don't last long. I just go to Advice, and they cost about 160 baht. METOO is the brand I have now, and it's been dropped close to 10 times, off the side of the bed / mattress, as that's where I'm usually using, so not a far drop, vs a tabletop. I'm amazed it's lasted this long, couple years. Wireless, 1 AA battery. I don't sit a table or desk, as the cost of replacing mouses would bankrupt me
  20. Someone thinks too much. Fantasy vs Reality ... who comes up with this stuff. Take the word 'Thai' out. It's a woman, hopefully, if that your preference. No different than any other woman of the world. Same everywhere, emphasis on 'potentially' ... as all people aren't ... ... beautiful (sounds a bit shallow) ... caring, good luck with that ... devoted, divorce rates not different ... values family and home life ??? More important, do you want to be married and or .... why ? You're marrying the woman, not the family. Why would you support anyone else ? Is this something you do in home country ? Cultural compatibly and the rest is just made up BS. You're 2 people, you get along or you don't. The rest is just BS excuses people use when things fail. Like all relationships, either works or doesn't, no need for excuses. What makes you happy, what makes her happy, and if not like minded, it will fail. Culture, language, other people have nothing to do with it. The fantasy of marriage is a failed institution, and why so many fail. 2 people finding out everything there is to know about each other and still liking each other .... GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ONE My advice ... if never wanting to be divorced, never get married. That piece of paper is a fantasy, and for many, a curse.
  21. After 18 yrs together, and 3rd house, we kind of got it sorted out. She dominated the bathroom of course, as I get a spot for razor, toothbrush & soap. She has 3 different soaps, couple rubs, and 3-5 bottles of other crap. Don't have a living room or dining room. I dominate the foyer/entrance. Drone & RC cabinet (tall & large), w/2 vid drones now dominate the low cabinet that was photos & collectibles. With me other junks scattered about. There's a hand off order for all of that. She has multipurpose desk in bedroom, and I get 1/3 of the walled in closet I have to share my 1/2 of the bed, with the dog She has large area of eat in kitchen (main room of house) for her sewing. Along with full control of laundry & storage, which runs the length of one side of the house. Which means I haven't a clue where anything is, that I haven't used in the last month. We both get to clutter up the carport, me with EVs, her with gardening supplies. Also the garden lot & Greenhouse is all hers. So I basically got 1/2 the bedroom, and shared kitchen access. Call that 50 - 75 m² of the 800 m², of the 1/2 rai it all occupies. Sadly, neither on of us seem to be in control, as we serve the dog, master of the house
