  1. Nothing helping you, but if you're getting a better rate, then I'll get a better rate. If THB weaker against the GBP, hope the same w/USD. Me Me Me
  2. There's also no mention, that all or any of those, are not eaten at home. Seems you read that into the reply. I could list all those, and as I stated, 90%, at least, of our dining is done in house, home cooked. Rarely do we eat out, so any of those would be prepared in a healthier version ... usually. I think the most unhealthiest thing I eat in house, is tater tots, since off most flour/grains now. Even deep fried, but eat them so infrequent, along with a good serving of protein, doubt very much if it spikes my sugar/insulin much. Along with a nice stroll afterwards.
  3. You might be younger ... 1 out of 3 isn't bad, for some On topic ... better ingredients = healthy eating. May be more expensive at first, but avoiding the processed and unhealthier ingredients, will help you avoid the need for all the cardiac & diabetes meds ... Which of course in TH, is cheaper and a value, if not living in a country with 'true' universal healthcare.
  4. Depends, as always, who's cooking & how. If a nice rub on the ribs (my preference, no sauce) then quite healthy. If smothered in sugary bbq sauce, then not so healthy. Same with scampi, 'sea' shrimp, quality butter & cheese, maybe even a whole wheat pasta, if topping on, or over a cauliflower rice, or, not starch at all, then fairly healthy. Healthy options abound for most of our favorites. Along with common sense moderation. Who batters prawns for scampi. Best way to eat prawns/shrimp, is cold cocktail, as can actually taste the shrimp. Easy to make, prepare healthy food. unhealthy, along with lessening the effect of unhealthy food.
  5. Monsoon - Winds do seem to be easing up. May get some drone playing in ... ... in between the raindrops
  6. USA Soc Sec DD get done on the 3rd of the month 😁
  7. That's rare though, and it doesn't happen suddenly, or last long. Last 15 yrs, its been steady, 30 - 35 /$1,with few short excepts, and for the good, when lasting a bit longer than usual. There's no drama here, and only for those barely making the financials for extensions. Simply switch the the lump sum method instead of monthly deposits. If you can't do that, then you probably shouldn't be here to begin with. Better planning ... better retirement
  8. Nice ... I wish On the rare occasion our inverter is max'd out. Also means, we could easily power another house some days. If having one, solar or EV, surely the other would follow soon
  9. NY style pizza 2 for 1 is a value, and on topic
  10. So, like the THB, the USD doesn't fluctuate much at all, about 10-15% either way of the median. For decades, well except for '97'. The drama ... Fairly constant, between 30-35 / $1 L ... 25 + 20% = 30 H ... 46 - 20% = 35
  11. Just do it before the 3rd ... THANKS
  12. It always goes back up ... ... but will any of us still be alive when t does
  13. Yea, really, again. Our water saving tanks are topped up already, again. It's welcomed though, as need to do some 'post' digging, so soft dirt is better than the concrete like, during dry season. No need for a jack hammer Gives the solar panels a dusting off, one more time 👍
  14. Did the govt incentive motivate me to buy a BEV ... HELL YEA ฿240K, although if it was only 100k or 150k, I might have passed on upgrading, as really like our present ICEV, as only having 1.5 yrs, and same make/model as the BEV. For me, spending more than ฿1M for transport is ding dong, as not really a car person, especially in retirement. Actually, ฿949k was a stretch to justify, as just spending ฿695k, also a silly price, in my mind, to get from point A to B. Sadly, the going price for anything in TH, that has any acceptable level of comfort. The estimated 6 months from order to deliver, also gave me time to research and think about it, as like most, I was pretty ignorant about BEVs. OK, not as much as most, but fine details/info, I lacked. Even considered canceling the last month before receiving. The first day, and during first O&A, questioned myself, hmm, was this a good idea. Once use to everything, and driving ... Oh Hell Yea ... driving is fun again. Now, as stated maybe 1 or 100 times, would never own a ICEV again. Without the govt incentive, would probably have bought the same anyway, since the little price war going, and ฿599k would have been impossible to pass up. The performance alone is worth the extra money, and of course, being a spiteful bastard, not support big oil ... that's priceless. Govt incentive for BEV, is no different than the Excise Tax rebate, for ICEVs, back around 2011/12, which motivated us to upgrade at the time offered. A bit of a coincidence, as would have been due for a trade up anyway within the next year or 2. But done as soon as the rebate as offered. Incentive here, rebate there, what's the difference. Both version of products and energy to fuel them are all subsidized anyway. Which means lower prices. We pay for the subsidies anyway via taxes. Just every now and then, they give a few baht back to us. Gives us the warm & fuzzy feeling after being screwed for decades prior. Timing and ability to take advantage of getting some of our money back is nice though. Sort of like the 3 covid economic stimulus/assistance checks us Yanks got ... I wonder where the got the money for those
  15. If you say so, good for you. I've worked in restaurants myself, including involved with catering service of first class airline's food, when they really were first class. Only 60 yrs experience in the kitchen. With all that experience you have, it's a shame you can't simply admit, when you may have been mistaken. Have a nice day.
  16. Did I miss something, as didn't know we were discussing a 'training diet', just healthier options/version diet of what most people eat. Which is crap, going by all the obesity walking around. That should be protein, healthier fats, fibrous carbs, little to no starchy carbs & no sugar, if possible. Depends what you're training for, strength or endurance or both.
  17. Just peeked, all the listings for 599k are dated end of August. Thank they may have ran out. That sucks for buyers. hmm ... can't find any info on upgraded ZS EV, but did see they're coming out with a ZS HEV ... W T F Same as the did with the MG3. Maybe they're thinking direct competition with Toyota Crasses.
  18. People always have the option of voting the idiots out. Especially since they don't have the interest of the people that they are working for and cater to big business and fossil fuel. But, you can't fix stupid
  19. That's only when we're O&A, and choose wisely, no need to eat unhealthy, even from 7-11 Well, extremely unhealthy ... At home, and eat in, 90% of our dining, a Keto ish diet, of whole foods, and cut most of the starchy carbs & sugar out of my diet. Wasn't much processed foods to cut out. Weight, BP, blood sugar, cholesterol all normal ... CBC (R&W, etc), again, all normal. Non smoker & don't drink alcohol. Maybe half a doobie, once a month if that, though doesn't seem to help the movie I'm watching 🙄
  20. Mine's over taxed (though less than UK/EU, I think), along with just silly ass priced healthcare. At least you get something for you taxes, if you can get seen. I really can't see any Yanks heading back to the 'Mother Land', especially if been here a while, as cost to get started on govt healthcare is silly, and doesn't cover much, or not until you spent $10k of you own already Another SEA country, I don't would appeal to me. Leaves Mexico or S. America. Actually, if not for the hurricane season, Cuba would be a nice option, or Puerto Rico, as would a lot of the Caribbean island. But why I scratched those to begin with. Africa, E. Asia ... don't think so. Doesn't leave much. Old Eastern Block/W. EU ... a bit too turbulent, maybe now & in the future, Besides part of or joining the EU ... NO THANKS
  21. I agree with him, and they are healthy. I'm partial to Pizza Co's NY Style, when 2 for 1 Actually the only pizza I'll get out of the house, unless at Krung Thep, hard to not pop into SoHo Pizza (soi 11) Just had it last week-ish. A healthier option over many other dishes I can think of. Especially in the fast food category.
  22. Exactly ... you choose what you eat. Had a CheeseSteak sandwich today, Sliced tenderloin (tallow for added flavor), and cheese was a mix of Cheddar & Monterrey, as the Cheddar is a bit sharp, to go alone. The dog & myself have been munchin', polishing off the Swiss (Emmental), for snacking. I don't who eats that plastic cheese product, but not us.
  23. Really depends on who is making the pizza. I know what goes into ours I've seen others served up at restaurants, that are more dough than anything else. And most cheeses are healthy, though a little high on the caloric count.
  24. Yea ... they don't know the value, until out of Uni, and have to support themselves. Daughter realized now haw much living expenses are, now working vs parental support while in Uni. Since not local school, and needing housing, it added up. Still cheap, western comparison, but more than most locals make a month. Best part, she appreciated the support, and tells me how she benefitted from it, vs her friends, who didn't have the extra opportunities of choices. Now she values money, and understands finances. Little bi-atch knows she's #1 with me. Had a conversation recently on that subject. Asking how'd I do it, not realizing, I have a few more baht than she was going through while at Uni. Little Bi-atch ... I know what growing up poor is like. Not for my kid ... no silver spoon for her, but no struggles either.
  25. NY style pizza, aside from the thin, almost cracker pizzas served, has thinner dough/crust than say anything else from Pizza CO or other chains. Ma/pa shops go heavy on the dough also, with lots of crust (Neapolitan) so little toppings are used. So the NY, will give you a better ratio of sauce (tomato/healthy), cheese (protein/fat/healthy), and toppings, if meat, even better, even if processed (protein/fat/healthy) vs the starchy carbs/sugar of dough/crust, empty carbs count, with other styles. Less carbs, less sugar, always a plus. Higher ratio of protein & fat counters the carb intake. Other items mentioned, same, heavy on meats/protein/fats, with exception of the lasagna (starch/pasta), though will have meat/cheese/sauce, so counter points edit: y'all type fast
