You mean inter-province ? ... then depends where & waht company you use. Info available online, if actually interested. Usually provide a bit more comfort, less seating, more elbow room, maybe. Both, govt & private, cheap enough if not having a car, or don't want to go long distance on MC. I just use the public bus lines around BKK, and occasionally, rare, baht bus in smaller towns like Hua Hin, and in the past, Pattaya.

Most restaurants here / TH, wouldn't survive in the USA. Simply below the standard of even inexpensive restaurants in the USA. If they could pass the health regulations. Along with the employees would get fired, or starve, for lack of tips, if service is anything like provided here in TH's cheap venues. You get what you pay for here. Very few, except higher end, have any type of ambiance that motivates me to stay longer than it takes time to eat. Why we eat so much in house, aside from food quality better at home. We eat out, about 1 meal a week, if that. Really only when we're O&A, and sometimes, it's take away and back at hotel, especially if microwave is available. Why we prefer bungalows with a nice sitting area & view, along with traveling with the dog, as she needs some green area.

Location dependent. Only in BKK, and bus is actually my first choice, if convenient. I self drive (not in BKK), so always have the car handy when not in BKK. I usually won't drive in BKK, unless going to a mall, and during non rush hours.

What battery did they come with, as I have a few 18650s sitting here idle. I just ordered 3 flashlights, as doesn't make sense to order 1, w/shipping cost more than 2 without shipping. So 3 it is. Which is good, as yesterday, heavy overcast and the solar light in the yard was off at 0400 hrs, which is rare, off at all, let alone that early. And I need light for the dog to P, make sure no snakes in the yard.

I stayed In 5* in the USA & 4ish * in Canada, but we got amazing discounts for being airline/travel industry employees. I would never pay full fare, not only because I'm thrifty, but I simply wouldn't use the amenities. Especially now, since I don't drink alcohol. Chatrium have nice properties, though more competition, newer properties available now, than when I stayed there, long time ago. Stayed at the Sheraton Suk long time ago also, and very nice, but that was a freebie, burning all my TG/UA air miles. I had to pay the tax, not covered, and was 700 baht, which at the time, was my normal price for hotel in BKK

Did they have 24hr room service ? A shoe shiner in the lobby, along with a tailor ? Could the concierge get you play, opera or concert tickets on request ? Were there 'house' cars (Benzs) available any hour ? At least one of 2 restaurants available all day ? We stayed at Chatrium Riverside, (self rated 5*, and people rave about it) a nice value, but I'd only give it 3*, and I'm being kind. It was also ~3800 w/buffet breakie (excellent), so we got what we paid for, and that was quite some time ago. Aside from brekkie, in house food was crap, or maybe I simply ordered the wrong thing, maybe. Just peeked, and still self rated 5* and 5600 baht now (Monday 17 Dec), with brekkie, only 1 room left on booking.com. 6500 + 1300 for brekkie for the rest. Not worth 7800 IMHO.

You simply charge overnight at home. Unless O&A, no reason or need to charge anything in 10 minutes. How many kms do you drive a day. Even your granny charger will give most folks 150 kms overnight (2100-0600). That's at ~2.3kWh an hour, step up to ~3.5kWh cable and you can squeeze in a bit more, if Wall Charger isn't free with car, or you don't want to buy. If you can't charge at home, then maybe an BEV isn't for you, especially if an impatient person. More silliness from the anti EV'ers. -
Thanks ... People who think TH's self rated 5* hotels are even close to 5*, apparently have never stayed in 5* hotel elsewhere. You get what you pay for ... sometimes, and it's not 5*.

Hit the nail on the head there. Broken record, but yea, parents stone alkys, and simply having enough, wasn't always in their play book. Enough for alcohol & cigs seemed to be the priority, aside from eating quite well, there wasn't much left over for the kids. In that aspect, I'm chip off the ol' block, as went through a lot of low paying jobs myself, along with sex, drugs & RR hobby ... but ... I didn't have 4 kids to be responsible for. Took a long time to get my sh!t together. It was fun, but delayed being a responsible person. Better role models & guidance would have been nice. Shame I never went to therapy, I could blame everything on my parents ...

Not really, as they were both great, but, we had different outlooks on the future, and independence. They liked the security of familiarity and having family & friends close. I had no desire to live in the same county the rest of my life. I went where the money took me, and where I was happy. They didn't care for that. On the sex part of other post, I don't find women different from USA vs TH, and they like getting their freak on equally. Some not so, hence very short relationship, in between live ins, as I'm not a patient person, nor going to try to free their mind or attitude toward sex ... next. Always had couple life long friends w/bennies. Nice to have people you can rely on consistently for smiles. Just living together wasn't going to work, for various reason. Not really unique type of relationships, although seems many on the forum, didn't seem to have the same. I didn't seem to have a problem meeting like minded people. I'm not an extreme extravert, but far from an introvert, with women. Most men, I can't relate to, as don't like talking about women, or sports, and not a car person. Have very few life long male friends, find men extremely boring to be around. Quite the loner when single, and seem to find the same like minded when looking. Have no desire to be around people that need to be around family & friends constantly. They might actually want to have a conversation and ask my opinion. We all know what happens then ... same as on the forum

Remember it vividly, reading the headline in the very small Princeton NJ airport, as I use to catch a plane to work there, most days of the week, as the drive sucked to EWR. First thing that hit me at 0600 (9 Dec), as I walked into the small terminal. Only had about three 8 passenger flights a day to EWR then.

Is there anything good about getting old?
KhunLA replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Ah, reflection time My younger mindset was do it all ASAP, as I might crap out anytime, especially since sex, drugs & RR seemed to be my hobby. Thankfully only a hobby, and not a lifestyle like too many of my peers ... most gone for various reason. Got all the thrill seeking things out of me; going fast and not killing myself (cars & MC), jump out of perfectly good plane, white water rapid, swim w/sharks. Waited till TH for bungee, as not paying silly price just for a rubber band thrill. Remember thinking, stoned in a field thinking, as late teen, about the future, and just thought, this will do, just chillin', with no worries. So retire ASAP, so can do just that. Becoming a working class hero, even more so, retire ASAP. Old age is pretty much just that, but straight, minimal ganga & alcohol. Give me a guesthouse with a view and good munchies and I'm happy. Working for airlines, I got traveled out, so no desire, where most seem to travel after retiring. Never had or wanted kids, but now, since raising one from 2 ish yr old to out of Uni, can't imagine not doing. Glad I waited till I had the time & money to do it right. Having kids when most do, would have thrown a wrench into my smiles way back when. That accidently worked out perfectly. And a big surprise how rewarding it is/was. Now can't imagine what the last 20+ yrs would have been without her in my life. Don't know how I made it to 70, really lucky, blessed, 'God is my co-pilot' (Atheist 🙄), definitely appreciative, and realize how fortunate. Might even squeeze 10 more year out of being a LPOS 😎 -
that's a matter of perspective ... like a tree, we can count the lines for age. Need to get some sun, a bit of vit D never hurt Looking much better 👍

Even the joke section isn't immune from anti EV trolls. I assume implying China, and no proof freighter sunk because of EV cargo. Actually, highly unlikely since simply sitting there ... IMHO joke thread photo 🙄 original ... from Norilsk, RU 2007 This one from Microsoft production line ... anyone using windows

Yes, and I think 45 yrs in USA was long enough. Though I wouldn't mind returning for 1 year, to check out all the national parks I didn't see, and most free since an old fart now. But that's about it, no desire to live there again, unless I hit the lottery. Although I'd be eating all the beef and sandwiches I could while there. Just wish TH was a bit or a lot larger, as been around it more than a few times already. Too lazy to hop a plane anywhere, let a lone sit in the back of bus for any amount of time. Border countries would just be same same, not that different. So too many hrs to explore somewhere more diverse.

Thailand's EV Industry Faces Challenges Amid Subsidy Concerns - video

Drag racing at 70 yr old, and with a Raptor or MG SUV, and on Thai roads no less ... Seriously, how old are you ? I've rarely done that when I was a kid, and only on MC. You guys are too funny 😎 -
That would knock off a couple hours, from our usual charging time. Since having solar, and on crap day, charging window isn't that long some times, if at all. Usually plug in around 85% on overcast/cloudy weeks. Considerably difference on a full day of charging w/Solar, and an extra 10kWh supplied. 60% of capacity vs 40%

Really ... our 2022 MG ZS is 14k baht, and renewed a couple months ago.

I've only bought clothes online from 2 vendors in USA, and only because I also use to shop at their brick & mortar stores; Eddie Bauer and another that escapes me. Alterations were free, usually. Hard enough buying in stores here / TH, since many materials aren't pre-shrunk before assembled. Did find a couple brands that sizing was good & consistent. Now the wife makes everything.

No issues so far, that I know of. A couple on forums, but in real life, just a few Brits & couple Germans I didn't get along with. Most people are just fine, though can't say I had more than 5 decent friends here, and the rest fall into just acquaintances met at monthly forum meeting in Udon Thani. Probably only been over to theirs, or had 5 or so non Thai guest at the house. Except for 'meet ups' fairly private person. Don't think I actually know any Russians, or could tell what they are when out and about, unless they are talking within ear's length. Same with Chinese, as most Asian tourist look alike to me. Haven't spent any time in CN or JP to be able to tell the difference. Smaller local neighbor country ones are a bit easy to spot, since their Thai is as bad as mine.

฿1M ÷ 14 yrs ÷ 12 months = ฿5952 a month Minus ฿5000 = ฿952 = ฿31 a day to live on With no visa. Unless spending ฿10-฿20k a year for agent X 14 yrs, so now ฿140k-280k less to live on. At only 10k for an agent, that's 322 days of living expense, so now he can eat 3 or 4 days a month 1M for 14 years ... good comic relief. Many thought they could do that, hence the multiple members of the "Flying Club"

Yep, I even managed to do that in the USA. I'm starting to wonder, did most folks not have a sex life before TH. Many are my age, soon 70 +/- 10 ish years and the 70s & 80s was a great time to be young, and years onward. Life was, is good, even with 3 divorces & 2 live ins that lasted as long. I was still single for about 20 year, and damn fun also, in USA & TH.
