Retirement 'savings' plan ... in Thailand, that's some funny ass sh!t right there. Teach them how to invest, and if Thailand, here's a hint ... ... Thai Land One thing that is guaranteed to appreciate, as they're not making any more. 55 certainly isn't too late to start, depending how long one plans on living. Wife & myself, investing in land, and about 15 yrs ago, making me 55 +/- back then ฿720k turned into ฿3M in less than 10 yrs ฿1.036M recently, has turned into ฿2.4M, last 3 ish yrs, Of course, it's always better to start earlier. Really doesn't take much to get started, just live within your means, control & manage your finance, and build equity ASAP, with all your spare money, instead of trying to impress people who don't give a rat's ass about you.

Actually they had more than a few missiles hit their target. I posted a link earlier, but since it goes against the MSM spin, it got deleted. Search other news sources besides the censored MSM, if you want to really know what happen.

If I don't need it right away, more like I can't find it, where we live, then it's online, and usually LAZ. Knowing if I don't like or not up to my expectations, I can simply send it back. Added plus, don't need to leave the house to do neither, accept or return. COD is nice of course, and being home isn't a problem. They know us so much, that if not home, they call, if not fragile, drop over the wall, and wife will transfer payment. She's even missed their call, and they send her a msg, we delivered, need to transfer money ... Yea, we order that much crap online And yet to find anything cheaper locally.

Ditto with this suggestion, as also travel with dog (10kg), and that's hard enough. Those with larger pets face more obstacles. Luckily have Thai wife, and she phones the hotels/guesthouses to find accommodations for us. The couple 'pet friendly' travel sites are very lacking; BringFido & another one ? ... both lacking, and poor info. Gmaps better source, IF, someone reviews that has a pet. Booking.com has some info, but must verify, size & pet charges, if any. Along with many not listed as pet friendly, will accept if you call & ask. Which requires a cross reference with Gmap, to get their Ph#. A few state pet friendly, but are not, and didn't update info. One good accurate site / app would be very nice 👍

Not sure any new tools are needed. For those that know how to research, and actually do, shouldn't have any issues. More than enough resources already available. Our main research source for going O&A (out & about) ... ... Google Maps (hotel & restaurants) ... cross referenced with booking.com for hotel ... cross referenced with wongnai, foursquare for restaurants Usually just rely on Gmap & booking.com, as reviews are usually pretty dependable, especially those reviewers with 50+ reviews on Gmap. Eliminates overly positive reviews from family & friends, or negatives from competitors. Photos are important for both. Can't think of any other sources. Occasionally TAT for any events & festivals, info usually lacking. If something interests, then there's probably a FB page with more info, hopefully.

Feel sorry for AN posters who bought electric

What you ask for, and what you'll actually get is 2 different things. Peek at FB Marketplace for 12 yr old Jazz, and it won't be 1/4 baht range. Plenty asking, but plenty more in the 150k+/- Jazz cost quite a bit more than MG3 back then. Apples & Oranges -

Good advice given to check out @atpeace thread about his install. We paid for installation, on our larger system, so not sure it would be helpful. Overkill for what you're asking. A few others have DIY systems, can point you in the right direction. A few threads running in this forum -

It is an entry level (POS) made in TH car, that now has to compete on the market against new BEVs in the 500k+/- baht range. Kind of validated the other thread about 2nd hand sellers in deep sh!t due to better, lower priced EVs now on the market. If I had an ICEV that I wasn't going to keep till it dies, I'd be looking to sell ASAP, before the market gets even harder to sell. -
I already did that, apparently ignored. So much for having a conversation.

Nah .... as you'll still be adding to the low level air pollution. Since usually diesel, the most unhealthy, kind of defeats the whole purpose. Only the companies make more profit by better operating fuel economy. Still addicted to fossil fuel. -

Four Charges Filed Against Driver in Bus Fire That Killed 23
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Actually the driver's version sounds very believable. If lost control and couldn't come to a rolling stop, think I'd be thinking about hitting something to slow down or stop with. Unfortunately, that put the bus doors against the wall, and possible trapped the folks in side, depending how the doors actually operated. Would think the following bus would have had a dash cam, hopefully. If open road, can't see any CCTV being available, unless very lucky. Just need to figure out why he lost control, and what actually ignited the fire. Could negate 3 of the charges. -
Fairly senseless to post a new topic, since most seem to ignore the facts when they are presented in B&W Just a waste a time, really. Most not worth replying to.

Bank of Thailand Intervenes to Manage Baht's Exchange Rate
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Means weaker when you get less for your baht. Firmer sure doesn't mean stable, as it continues to fluctuate. Only this week has it held sort of steady. Add inflation & 10-15% exchange rate to you holiday spending ... NO THANKS. That's after you get here, and after the airline's fare hikes, and silly fees for added luggage, meals, seat assignment, as taking all the perks away, so I read. if they had their way, Int'l flights would be carry on only also Time for people to explore and holiday locally.- 145 replies

Deadpool & Wolverine ... IMDB 7.7 ... KhunLA 1 ... and I'm being kind. Had a couple 'slapstick' moments, and inside comments, but what a waste. Was going to stop watching but wife was paying attention. I was dozing off a bit, when awake, it still sucked. Hugh Jackman must have got a huge check or % to do that.

Bank of Thailand Intervenes to Manage Baht's Exchange Rate
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So she thinks everyone loves paying more for their holiday ... ,,, "However, Ms. Chayawadee emphasized that the stronger baht is unlikely to impact the tourism sector adversely in the final quarter of this year. "International tourists generally welcome a firmer baht against the dollar, which helps them better manage their spending in Thailand," she said."- 145 replies

Feel sorry for AN posters who bought electric
KhunLA replied to Celsius's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Yea, for some reason, they simply don't get it. Our solar, barely, sometimes not even produces enough energy to power the house, IF waned to run both ACs, so need to be conservative that day. Means the cost of that system, was to power the house, not the EVs. For us, we didn't even have the BEV (car). Having solar was definitely added motivation to get a BEV (car). That it does produce enough excess to power the EVs, at no extra cost, is a bonus. So the EVs are energized at no extra expense = FREE in my world. Didn't cost anything extra = FREE Maybe this will help ... "I'll have a coffee" "Would you care for some pie?" "No thanks, I don't have enough money" "No problem, no extra charge" "You mean FREE ?" -

Seriously ... I did a simple cost comparison. You did a lifestyle comparison. Just a wee bit different. Now for a fair (almost) comparison. You have a choice of 2 cars ... ... identical buy in cost ... same comfort level ... same performance level (being kind) BUT ... one cost at least 2X to operate & maintain, which would you take ?
