  1. If not for BYD & GWM, and even Neta, that might be true ... They definitely put a dent in MG's short lived monopoly on affordable EVs in TH. Buyers definitely benefitting with the little price war going on. Just shows how like minded & thrifty Thais are.
  2. 700k puts you in a MG ZS (ICE). I haven't test drove a T3, but can't really see that much of a difference, except performance, and not even needed, as the ZS performs just fine. Could easily sell it to tent folks, cutting your transport cost considerably for the year. And no additional hassle at all. That the T3 cost 2X as much doesn't mean a whole lot. Dimensions just a wee bit bigger, and more electronic tech, that isn't really needed. I guess I'm just thrifty that way, and would rather have the extra 20+k baht in my pocket every month. As should be able to sell at 500k after the year. So 200k instead of 543k cost of the vehicle.
  3. Hope this is just a hobby thing, as you will eventually lose everything you put into it. As long as you realize that from the get go ... have fun.
  4. Why I never understood long term leasing of vehicles, unless coupled with a nice tax write off. Or you could buy something (ICEV) in the 600-700k baht range, and sell it for 400-500k before leaving,
  5. Agree ... but not until man came along, did someone figure out a way to scare people with Heaven & Hell to control them. And, put a little money in their pocket to show you the way to Heaven. Such a genius racket, if only it was a public company, and we could buy stock.
  6. Yes & yes ... this is also true ... you can't fix stupid
  7. Atheist that I am, this explains GOD perfectly ...
  8. Already producing 800w ... no panels face East. So we only used about 4kWh over a 16 hr period of not production.
  9. When I see them doing that, I always thought they were dumb A$$s and either ran out of petrol or trying to conserve petrol. Now I'll have the thought they are steal scooters ... Crime is that bad in Patts. And people used to wonder why I locked my helmet to the scooter when simply going in 7-11. Not so much loss of helmet to buy again, but I'm a hard fit.
  10. Obviously something wrong with me, as I got a chuckle out of that story. Anyone else as screwed up as I am ? TV crime shows always state sociopaths don't exhibit empathy ... oh well. Love the blame game. "The international community awaits further investigation into the crash and emphasizes the need for transparent and unbiased findings." 🤣
  11. Well that's a first. Even the little night light in kitchen isn't using enough to register. Only the inverter itself is using 80w 😂 Frigs obviously aren't cycling at the moment, and damn chilly out, 21°C I usually wake up to 70-75%. And looks like the sun will break through today, so should be topped up before noon.
  12. Anyone know where the thread is about ... ... "Overstaying Israeli Man Arrested in Patong after Allegedly Trying to Rob a Woman at an Exchange Booth"
  13. Amazing how little we use, when frigs not being opened, and I'm on the laptop only, instead of using the 65" TV as the monitor. Don't need lights yet, as still enough ambient light coming in 😂 No fan on yet. 20kWh would hold us over for quite some time, though 250-300w per hour, is more the normal, w/frigs and fan going. Another 100w for the TV. That would be without using the EV as back up.
  14. @retarius apologies, as I thought you were just having fun with me. Since on the EV threads, took for granted you knew what OTA, BEV & ICEV meant, along with a few other acronyms. Now you understand why the one post, stating Tesla being most recalled car, since considering OTAs as a recall is a bit silly. Would mean my phone & laptop/Win10 has been recalled 100s of times, if not more, and yet, never taken in for service. 🤣 Thanks 'G' for filling him in 👍
  15. HEY ... what are you implying ... 😂😂😂 Daughter keeps telling me that ... "one day I'll be too old to be scooting around, or even in the car" "NEVER" ... kids. The day I can't mount it, is the day I'll be too old.
  16. When you have solar, every once in a while ... ... you need to PAY ATTENTION Which I wasn't today, as haven't needed to in months. Forgetting it's been raining, ALL DAY. So we're at 82% now, and it's only 4ish pm. Oops Not major issue, as we'll only use 6kwh overnight, and hopefully wake up with 50%. Which is our average during cool season, as seem to wake up to 70% SOC on ESSs, and start producing. ESSs at 50% will be the lowest they've ever been since 2nd pack was paralleled in. Even in hot or rainy season, never been below 60%. We'd be at 95-100% if not using the ACs today, as not needed. We just opened all the sliding doors w/screens, to let cool air flow through, while having early dinner, and the wife is cold 😂 Won't need to use the ACs overnight, will compensate for the next couple hours of no production. ESSs never topped up today. We had the ACs on, I baked some turnovers, wife's on the sewing machine, made me a shirt, which involves ironing & did her hair, more ironing 😂 For those thinking our system was designed for the house & EVs, then no, obviously, and no excess today. Since not having the car when contracted or built house. Not needed, so not an issue.
  17. @worgeordie THANKS so much for recommending 👍 For science, a side by side of my preferred fresh (Dutch Mill & Thai Danish UHT) vs Dairy Rich. Slight difference between the fresh, and if not side by side, hard to notice. Dairy Rich wins hands down, taste, texture / creaminess. Delicious and flash back to fresh milk in USA over 40 yrs ago. I did mix the DR with a 165gr / 835gr ratio mix, vs recommended 140gr/860gr mix. May try the latter, see if that much difference. Can't see me buying fresh again, unless O&A, along with added plus of being a wee bit cheaper, and delivered to the door. 4 less liters to carry on the scooter when making a quick stop at Makro.
  18. Too many emergency maneuvers when I drove in a small metro (Udon Thani), for me to take on Krung Thep. Definitely the way to negotiate the congestion though. Too stressful for me, and disgustingly dirty (dust & diesel exhaust) and need to shower on just a short trip. Rather the rail lines or AC buses. Plus get to play photographer and capture city life., from the bus window.
  19. To be sold for personal use ? To end consumer, and not referring to franchise dealers from manufacturers. Would think that aspect is a given.
  20. It doesn't have much info, and some outdated. Use Gmaps and just search night markets, to get real info, open/close times, directions, photos & reviews. That article doesn't even links to where located. Another of interest may be floating markets, although the best is probably in ICONSIAM
  21. Don't know how current or accurate, but a start: https://www.exclusive.co.th/en/read/45 https://siam.rent/en/rent-electric-car/
  22. Please don't ... we'll take your word for it ... 😎
  23. You didn't, but do I really need to think about how my car with perform in -50C temps. Another one of those really irrelevant 'what ifs'.
  24. Screw the cars, any cars, as I don't operate @ -50C ... and a what if, most of the planet's inhabitants will never experience. Why I didn't retire in any of these places:
