  1. Amazing how people all of the sudden associate things, that existed or was done long before some nutter did or used something; a salute, a symbol, or even clothing. Now it's unacceptable, or worse, illegal to do or have the same. I understand Adolf sat down to take a dump ... ... OMG, I'm a Nazi
  2. And yet, the prior 10 topics, generated ~1160 replies, and 10s of 1000s of views ... $$$$$$$$$$ ... and you, 2 posts & 2 complaints
  3. You can zoom in & out ๐Ÿ˜Ž Gmap is amazing, and streetview, what else does one need ?
  4. โค๏ธ โค๏ธ โค๏ธ โค๏ธ Got every thng as good or better than the rest of the country. Along with the worse of, but far outweighed by the good. As long as not looking for rolling hills, beaches or lots of wide open greenery, aside from a few nice parks. Couldn't live there, but .... Love arriving and enjoy leaving ...
  5. Got thumbs down fan club myself. Posted snaps of dragonfly & bird ... got a thumbs down. Go figure Some sad folks on AN https://aseannow.com/topic/1362208-what-have-you-achieved-this-week/#findComment-19835103
  6. Being very on topic ... as always ๐Ÿ™„ Our view today, and onward in the AM, instead almost now. Started getting my 'steps' in, and best place to do. Got ~3 kms of walkway on North side of the bay, so can do an easy 6 kms here and no sewage smell, like the town fronting part of the bay. Did get interrupted by mama nature, so only 2 kms / 2700 steps. VID_20250602_131904.mp4
  7. Nah ... just photo bugs that enjoy sharing their snaps. Like minded hobbyist, whether just snaps from their phone, or fancy cameras with special lens. Today's view was better title, than from balcony. Add in a drone or underwater camera, and just different perspectives. Views from above (drone or high viewpoint) or below ... https://www.flickr.com/photos/56481061@N02/
  8. Only 1 ... RAW takes forever to process. MI Drone shot in RAW and ?k vids. One reason I updated to SSD in laptop & externals. Not even for those, just large jpegs & 1080 vids, need the processing speed. Not much difference anyway, especially since most view media on small screens. When I crop in for wildlife photos, I need at least 1080p, or lose resolution for viewing on my monitor, and it's only 55". Even the one lens on phone is 65 MP. Only 24 MP on my Sony A6400. I don't bother with RAW. Specs are nice selling point, but I'm not printing wall murals ๐Ÿ™„ Reach is way more important for me, damn skittish birds ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  9. Think it's views from balcony, not necessarily 'home' balcony. OK, the one was roadside ๐Ÿ™„ Careful, I only have 10's of thousands of photos to pick from ... bore A$$ the hell out of y'all
  10. When we get bored with our local views, and why we're O&A so much, just driving around. Addicted to the limestone karsts of the south. Not that the headlands at Ao Prachuap doesn't do it for me, as one of the prettier bays in Th. Thankfully less than 10 mins away. Surat Thani, Phang Nga & Krabi (just came back from) really hook me in ๐Ÿ™„
  11. From the back veranda ... Behind the tree line (bottom of photo) separating the pineapple fields, that wasn't there when we bought the land. Note to self, build 2 or 3 story house next time
  12. If not a surfside bungalow, it's almost a priority for a hillside view from the bungalow / room. So much so, that I stopped traveling with a drone. We rarely stay in urban areas, as we can always drive to food, or last resort, or 1st choice, depending how far out we are, fine dining from 7-11, and why we travel with a microwave We can even plug it into the car, if needed. Traveling with Sniffy the Wonder Dog, restricts us from National Parks, but the view is usually as nice or better, nearby without any distractions.
  13. My experience is different, and most expats I engage with, seem to be quite happy, and living the dream in TH. Most western retirees on AN, or that returned to the homeland with said tail between their legs seem to be quite miserable Not a mystery to me at all ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. I'm an Electrolux fan, unless sily priced, and doesn't need to be. Our table top is a major upgrade of the previous non Electrolux oven, that crapped out. 230ยฐC max temp (?), but with fans on, may even hit 250ยฐ, maybe. More than enough for any baking needs, as I make my own bread, almost weekly. Along wth Cheescake, both requiring high temps. Bread on max for 13 mins, then ~175ยฐ / 180ยฐ for 15-17mins, fans off. Cheesecake need 200ยฐC for ~25-30 mins. Our 56L, but has been discontinued. https://www.electrolux.co.th/en-th/search/?text=oven
  15. Finally read the OP, as usually ignore. So a WP fluff op-ed, with basically no meaning, which goes with the false headliner. ... "Obama, Biden and Clinton did not explicitly name Trump, but their message was unmistakable. The three Democrats said, as much by their presence as their words, that these are unusual times for American democracy, that norms are being disregarded and extraordinary measures are required. The only living president who has not spoken out since Inauguration Day is Republican George W. Bush, though he has made little secret of his antipathy for Trump" ... And Bush, does sound a peep, who hated for Trump is well known. More 'fake news' from MSM When will the deranged topics stop ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  16. That's what wills are for. If don't have one, and married, if lucky, wife just takes 'death cert' to bank, and withdraws. Now would be a good time to ask your bank, 'their policy'. Don't ask here, do there. It's not rocket science. I know that is possible, because I know someone that did just that. Withdrew funds with death cert.
  17. Why I carried the Glock, too safe, too comfy. Unless squeezing trigger, impossible to discharge. Never needed, but nice to have
  18. Only asked as our 8kW inverter has 9.7kW of panels of 10.4kW max imput. Will output 8.8kW if sun is playing nice, which I've only noticed doing once ๐Ÿ™„
  19. FN was also an 8mm. Very nice, but old & very heavy. Would hate to carry that around all day. Except for Mini, AK & 12ga, the rest were older 'collector' pieces. Same with handguns, all POS, and wouldn't want to drop them with a round chambered. S&Ws (38 & 357) were nice as was my go to, the Glock 19.
  20. Plastic, Glock 19, others; 22, 25, 380, 38 snub, 357 w/scope, 2 others (?) ๐Ÿ™„ Rifles; 8mm Mauser, FN 49, Hakim, couple Springfields (made CN & Czechoslovakia), AK (CN), short Mossberg 12ga, Mini 14 Good eye ... Hakim, slight upgrade to the Mosin
  21. Yes I did. Carried (usually legal), collected, and since having a FFL, sold firearms. Enemy ... Gov't, MSM, and anyone I didn't personally know from childhood OK, did meet quite a few fine folks, moving around the country (USA) ๐Ÿ˜Ž Question everything, learn to think for yourself (requires lots of research) and be as independent of all things, that you possibly can be, especially income. Good Luck ... Be Safe
  22. Grumpy, miserably people don't need any motivation to be that way, They seem to wake up miserable. Walk to the toilet, P, look in the mirror, and reality hits ... ... WTF, I really am a lonely, miserable Ahole. Oh well, might as will hop on AN and troll people, as nothing else going on in my life
