Even though 6 lane highway, it's mind boggling the truch was driving through that fast and not paying attention. Just as mind boggling, walking across, pushing your wee one, ahead of you, into 6 lanes, and not paying attention, crosswalk or not. There's even a crossing light to warn drivers. Truck didn't seem to make any attempt to slow down. Guess the vehicle stopping in the 'fast' lane wasn't clue enough someone might be crossing. https://www.google.co.th/maps/@8.6672668,98.2531884,3a,90y,179.01h,97.42t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1swS7x3XOAYn3irSwt5STAXQ!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fcb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26pitch%3D-7.416347202742159%26panoid%3DwS7x3XOAYn3irSwt5STAXQ%26yaw%3D179.013362324964!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDQxNC4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Relative to the bar ... I prefer open air and must have a view ... ... our back or front veranda / porch ... surfside ... hilltop ... riverside ... lakeside ... even people watching on Soi 4 (Nana) can be interesting Definitely not inside a 4 walled building (pub style) or club that you can't have a conversation in.

I weigh everything, coffee grounds & water (French Press). No need with our Moka pot, as just shy of the safety valve, as weighed and 450ml (?). Even the basket held a consistent 45gr +/- French press harder to judge. So need to weigh. On coffee beans, tested 2 yesterday, and bought beans from Myanmar, tasty, though pricy 🙄 ฿800 /1 kg (฿175 / 250gr) from local ma/pa shop near Myanmar border pass, Dan Singkhon, PKK. Couldn't find online, so guess one needs to be in the area. https://www.google.co.th/maps/place/Herbland+Coffee+%26+Tea/@11.7861612,99.6471177,656m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m8!3m7!1s0x30fe9bc43de11883:0x497fcad10fd9c7c4!8m2!3d11.7861612!4d99.649698!9m1!1b1!16s%2Fg%2F11f32br5xh?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDQxNC4xIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Most chocolate is only 20-33% cacao. I only use 100% cacao powder, and minimal added sugar when making my own chocolate, so near 50% cacao. Store bought, and I only buy 'Bestmate' 70% cacao chocolate bits. If you buy the popular Tulip brand, it's only 22-29% cacao, IF LUCKY People need to read the ingredients.

I've been here long enough to remember when extensions were easy, and Imm was flexible, especially once they knew you. Married, OK, that's your wife, have cert, let me see bank book copies, ok, done. Imm officer busted for approving marriage ext, when not married. Now we same as above, and, copy of blue book, yellow book, or lease ... ok done Imm officer busted again. Now we need, all the above, and we'll be out to the house, and oh yea, need bank statement now. Imm officer busted again. Now need all the above and, photos of you in house, in driveway, and the address # on wall. Go to district office and get cert, that still married. Imm officer busted again. Now need all the above and bank balance statement, whole account statement, and credit advise to track from overseas. The paperwork has to be perfect, sorry, we can't be flexible, because now we send it all the BKK, and they approve it. Come back in 30 days. Thank you very much scammers. Tightened the screws every time you are caught out.

Same one I'm referencing, and only one I've been to. Think that's the only one.

Wouldn't have to leave the USA at all, just simply stop producing income = no income tax. Simply live on savings or earned interest. At worse, live on borrowed money, against your assets. Pay <10% interest on millions, vs 90% tax. Not that a tax over 50%, or ever 40% would ever become a reality. They are the ones that control everything.

Don't know about getting away from the 'dollar', but definitely have appreciating assets (non currency notes) that you can touch, possess and able to sell, if & when needed. For me, it's land, as they simply aren't making any more. Gold seems a decent option, if can't own land, for whatever reason. Another would be assets that generate income; rental property would be #1 choice for me.

And what imm office are you getting a marriage or retirement visa and or ext, without verifying your income ? You're not, you are using an agent, 1900 for the visa or ext of, and the rest to the agent and Imm office to skirt the rules, and probably illegal. They have the discretion to approve, without financial info, but that would only cost 1900 baht, if done legally.

Yes & yes

Always call to verify your booking, after booking made. We book on the fly, usually night before or same day we are going to check in. As we don't make plans ahead of time, as they seem to constantly change. We don't do schedules. And yes, booking.com will show prices, if they have rooms, for alternate date;
-
Yes, endorse illegal activity and skirting the rules ... well done. Now complain about how corrupt TH is. And when the low life has an oops ... ... no prob ... 'go fund my stupidity'
-
Yes, I read and understood. You read the topic, and what I posted. Unless married, 40k is not enough, unless like you, they have money in the bank, and use the combination method. 'If only having 40k a month" ... no, you don't qualify for ret visa or ext of.
-
Booking sites will state 'sold out' as they themselves, simply don't have any rooms to sell. Doesn't mean the hotel is full, and usually is not. Especially this far away from the time you want. Many times when researching for an outing, I'll go to booking.com for info or reviews and will show no rooms. Rarely when we call are they full, or not cheaper than booking sites. Can't remember last time I used a booking site to actually reserve a room, except Accor site.

Not sure about that, web sites vs phone, though irrelevant, since my DD goes into BBL. I had to up the transfer amount couple months ago, from default 50k to 300k, so I can transfer about every 4 months to wife's account, to avoid FBAR,, and not transferring at the bank itself. When I did, it did ask for facial recognition to make the change. Although, all she needs to do is show a death cert, to get my funds from BBL. Although if she transfers before anyone knows I crapped out, avoids death tax, if there is one. As stated a few times, throw my butt in the garden, and keep on collecting

Your situation, 800k, for ret. visa ext, is doable. But if someone only has 40k a month, and not married, then not doable. I live on <20k a month, but bring in more than 65k needed for the ret visa ext., so not an issue. If only 40k a month, I'd need to get a visa based on marriage.
-
Yes, we made, and everyone should, make a vid of themselves ... 'blinking' ... as required for facial recognition. Along with having you 'pins & passwords' elsewhere & accessible, away from your devices.

... low class, budget stricken ... excuse me Long distance ... Thailand ... you are joking right. When you can drive top to bottom or east to west in a day, nothing is long distance. ... Thailand covers about 513,000 square kilometres, stretching approximately 1,715 kilometres from north to south and 915 kilometres at its widest point from east to west ... @ 80 kph average, that's only 1 day, 24 hrs. Didn't bother reading much further, after replying to the 'title', as in true AN fashion, see it turned into the usual sh!tshow.

Depends where you live. If in CM area, since you'll be there afterward, then head south till bored, then head back and do what ever interest you in the north, if time allows. North will always be there, so take advantage of self driving away from the 'local' area. Can do that anytime on short local exploring. Kind of personal, along with depending how much of the north or south, you've already been to, and 'when'. If during smog season, then the north will be a new experience without the smog, and actually enjoyable, outside the metro areas. If you only visit metro areas, then you won't notice the difference. I'm a fan of the south myself, as the limestone karsts, are different than most landscapes that I've seen and enjoyed. Along with the southern version of some foods. Added plus of both, beaches and hills to view.
