  1. If I didn't know how to type, and did the 2 finger typing, I wouldn't bother either, and sometimes, I still don't.

    Udon to Nan

If you like scenic routes, Nan (city) to Bo Kluea to Pua is lovely. We stayed one night along the way and 1 night in Bo Kluea. Nothing there but the landscape, but thought well worth the drive and overnight for R&R. Seriously can't think of a more (non limestone karst) drive through the hills, and rivals any other, any where, relative to the 'hills' vs mountains of other countries. It's not the Alps, but thought really nice. Best of TH for us.
  3. I'm not ignorant to Thai culture, and understand it completely, THANK YOU. I just don't worship the elite, no matter how much perceived good they do. The royal thing has always seemed silly to me, (as a Yank) and not just TH. All countries that still think birthright leads to privileges. Showing respect to a person, yea, common courtesy, but to a song...please. GOD syndrome.
  4. Tough decision for me. Hindsight, since owning, love the performance, and no requirement for weekly petrol top ups. That said, the MG CS is not out of the way, and couple kms away from house, on the way to weekly rounds. Not even a special trip needed. Prior to owning, then NO, wouldn't consider an EV, since as ignorant as most about the performance, and smooth ride on the highway. Our local driving (mandatory), and we would only need to top up, once ever 2 weeks, if that. We only rack up the kms, because the energy is 'free', and explore locally. I drive 30-45 minutes away, just for pancakes & curry/roti, as best version served there. Something I wouldn't do with an ICEV. Anything to get out of the house. Killing <1 hr on the internet, while sipping coffee and pastry is something I do every week. Topping up @ MG, that wouldn't be an inconvenience at all. Only as a 'delay' when going O&A, to top up, if wanting to start at 100%. Insurance wise, so far, basically same price as ICEV, as just renewed, and was ฿11.4k w/฿1400 rebate (?), so ฿10k, so value for value, same or cheaper than our ICEV insurance. Depreciation, assuming they used the MSRP without govt incentive, as ฿960, more than purchase price, then that's a bit $ drop, as was new 'totaled' value, off the lot, with now value of ฿860, still higher than new price, due to MG ZS's price drop. Actually best thing that could happen is car get totaled, and we get a new one, at no cost to us 😂 Already have the charger installed, so wouldn't need that. That is big drop in % of MSRP though. ฿1.189,000 to ฿860k (~28%) after 1 year or ownership. Not that we would ever consider selling. So depreciation, both MG in general & being an EV is something to consider, if you tend to buy new cars ever 2 or 3 years.
  5. I always thought the opposite, the worshipping of #9 was a bit odd. Not like he was entering the room, and respect shown.
  6. I wonder if the same happens when bank notes are dropped in cold water.
  7. Critical vs life threatening ... need a bit more clarity. Was he receiving oxygen (would think so), and if planned correctly, how long did the stop actually take. 30 seconds. If the driver wasn't running traffic signals on the way, then far from life threatening. I was transported, (1 year ago) PKK to Hua Hin, @ 90kph, w/stops at traffic lights ... and they stopped on the way, at an accident scene. When wife questioned, told 'they had to', unless I was in life threatening situation. If needed to pick a dying patient, would I be dropped off 😂 as not sure 2 gurneys would fit in the back, as already had 2 nurses with me. Sure they would manage, but sounds like BS to me & just wanted another 'fare'. They did seem in a big rush to get rid of me at PKK hosp once stabilized, and as soon as arriving at HH hosp, right to the procedure, followed by ICE for 12 hours, with monitoring every 15 minutes the first 6 hrs, then every hour after. No time wasted door to door, but no movie scene drama through traffic either. Then kicked my butt out of ICE, as needing the bed. I even discharged myself the next day. As no plans waiting around 'not be observed' to fit the docs weekend schedule, who didn't show for my appointment on Tuesday. Critical vs life threatening ... possibly neither, unless ignored on initial symptoms, and maybe lifestyle limiting without procedure. Not seeing either (me or OP) as life threatening, though not the most professional stop along the way. Hope they shared the bananas ... or that would really be rude.
  8. You don't ... ... silly query = silly reply. Could always Dundee his A$$ w/my trusty boomerang 😂
  9. Pull out my long rifle and shoot them in the A$$ then we'll go over and get my bag.
  10. Just bought .... I don't think so, warranty? Better research, better choices. I wouldn't buy a car where you have to replace the whole battery bank. Only buy if you could replace the modules.
  11. I can pay 500 baht for a burger from one vendor, but doesn't mean I have to, when someone else is selling for 250 baht. Live by one's choice, for that amount, I'd simply buy a new EV, for less, or just a tad more than 700k baht. One born every minute ...
  12. You could just stop looking in their windows to see if they're watching. Or wave hi, and invite them over for a chat, get to know them. May even become friends, and you won't be so mysterious to them that they need to gaze your way anymore. Though they may not be friendly, and simply ask you to stop looking in their windows for them.
  13. I do the same, great nighttime snack. Or fz blueberries, and sometimes with some corn flakes for a little crunch. The dog & myself have some dark chocolate every night about midnight, after her last grass watering session ????
  14. I'll let you non-EV owners worry about all of that. I just renewed my insurance, only because people are a bit suicidal here. In the USA, I didn't have car insurance for decades. Yet to need it here. Yet to be shunned anywhere because I'm driving an EV. Matter of fact, many vendors now cater to me, providing cables, sometimes free to charge up while there. THANKS Any petrol pumps at your restaurant or hotels you frequent ? How about topping up that tank while you're shopping ? Why THANK YOU very much ???? My glass is running over ... is yours half full yet?
  15. Boring, as much as I enjoy a good burger or steak, I need to mix it up, especially since beef here/TH is a bit to be desired or silly price at times. Been lucky of late, and not as hit & miss as in the past. Though never order steak at a restaurant, that's just silly, and usually very disappointing, to the point, I just don't anymore, with 1 exception.
  16. Reportedly ... ... IF true, so glad I don't live in UK
  17. The deposits need to be traceable back to the overseas source. This is done & verified, need at Imm by your Thai banks' 'Credit Advice' of your account, they will provide, when asked. Along with a statement of your account for those 12 months, and statement of your current balance, and best to have on the day you apply for extension.
  18. I think it depends on what info, one seeks or needs. I've posted the 'cycles' of LFP batteries, and source I use, states about 2500 via 'their testing'. Many think it's more like 5000 or even 10k has been quoted. So I stick with the extreme negative of 2500 (some state 2k-4k), and if even half true, that's enough info for me, as we'll never put 500k kms on any vehicle, or actually want to. Though it would be a classic by that time. And pretty cool to have. EV fires .... that's simply, ask the people that pay the insurance claims if wanting something accurate. Not the anti EV/CH YT'er that reports it's a common every day accordance in every Chinese city. How do EVs perform vs ICEVs ... again, ask the folks that have owned both. Not the folks who haven't even test drove them, since make by CH, they have to be crap. Are they the perfect product and going to save the planet, NO, and anyone thinking that is a bit delusional. Are EVs better that ICEVs, and or fall short of iCEVs, yes, of course, both have their pros & cons. Some based on facts, some based on personal choice.
  19. Not all, lucky if I eat 500gr a day, or even 300gr. Eat more chicken & fish (salmon) than beef or pork.
  20. Yes, one does wonder who & how these proxy wars are supplied. Well, I don't, but then I'm just a conspiracy nut ... or so I'm told when thinking out loud ???? Probably something as simply as 'follow the money to the profiteers' would answer that query, but may be hazardous to one's (investigative reporter's) health, if reported.
  21. Why ? If you have to ask, you'll never understand the answer. I always wonder why people come to TH for a holiday. Well, to the 'tourist' centers anyway. Except for the Asian flare, I'm not seeing it. And I could get that in ChinaTown @ Philly, PA, USA, or any other major city. History buffs, yes, understandable. I just hope the rest of the world isn't so screwed up now, that TH is actually considered a good holiday destination. Apparently not, for those that have a bit more cash. I think exploring locally for a holiday makes more sense, for those with limited funds, instead of saving for that one or 2 weeks, month in TH. Home country/area dependent of course, as TH may actually be an upgrade as holiday destination.
