  1. If his restaurants are anything like is cooking on YT or TikTok ... I'll pass. He's such a poor cook, I can't even watch him. Calling him a chef is an insult to 'chefs'.
  2. I don't trust anything I don't personally see. Wife & myself can photoshop anything, and we don't even have good software.
  3. Either has worked fine for me, here/TH or the USA. Seems I enjoy being attached, since in a relationship more than not. Really enjoyed my single time also. If not happy, I move along quite fast to the next one/relationship. Not a patient person with people. Too many others out there will help you be happy, instead of enjoying seeing you unhappy.
  4. Use that when I realize G is not allowing or burying info that I know is available. There's always choice, and failing to exercise those, well, that's a personal issue for many. You can't fix stupid
  5. Google simply provides apps which you may or may not choose to use. Ones I use, make my world easier to navigate, research and save money. Even provides a bit of entertainment at times. Choose wisely, be happy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Google_products
  6. As soon as someone mentions that fact-checkers are on the case, I tend to believe the report is false.
  7. Don't know about y'all's world, but in my world, EVs are no more expensive than ICEVs. And usually get more bang for your baht with the EV. If not in TH, then it's your govts tariffs that are making them overpriced. Same with their control of electric production. Cost of solar systems also being controlled by govt/energy companies. Buddha forbid they not have their windfall profits. MSM media ensuring you stay as ignorant as always ... ????
  8. As always, it's your money, and do as you please. But not even 0800 hrs, and overcast, and our solar system is producing enough for house (1 AC on), and I'm charging the EV. VID_20230923_075849.mp4
  9. Figs, green/red peppers (expensive stuff), and tomatoes, since we eat a lot. Beefsteaks not doing well, tasty but small. Others fine. Asparagus & broccoli ... waiting for some results. Others just for the hell of it, and see if they take, citrus trees, grapes. Durian, slow going, and bananas & papaya, just a couple as simply yield too much when ready. Some herbs and greens; kale, lettuces & such. Nothing 'bulbus', potatoes, onions or such, as fail miserably, so far.
  10. I just look at BkkBank, where my USD go ... any other site is a bit irrelevant:
  11. One of the biggest drivers of rising gasoline prices appears to be... ... Price gouging by the petrol companies, and why they have had record windfall profits. Just the illusion y'all are buying into, the war ????
  12. Not enough bandwidth. As if we don't talk enough about TH, do you really want to read about our, my adventures in other countries, or different states in the USA, some larger than most countries. Oh yea, and it's a Thai forum.
  13. Yep, they seem to get primo spots, and great to visit for the views. Some are even interesting, and always a bunch of vendors around, for a good munch. Even visited Wats for their uniqueness, or importance in the past, when in the neighborhood. Now just for the views. Never really a bar person and definitely not a go-go bar person. Pay to look at women, nah ... a prefer the hand on approach, and not P4P, that's just boring.
  14. Agree, not much real change. Only worked 2 days a week in the USA, before retiring. Pretty charmed life there, or so my brother tells me. Things actually better here, as better housing in non metro areas. Houses built for me here/TH, so exactly what I want/need. Here/TH, on fifth new car, and in 28 yrs in USA, only owned 1 new vehicle. Eat healthier, as most home cooked now, and very little alcohol now. 2 divorces in USA, 1 in TH, and escaped with heart, sanity & wallet. Found life long partner in #4, for past 17 years, and no ending in sight. All good. Blessed, and thankful, that life has simply gotten better and better as I've aged, except for the aging part. Not perfect along the way, and more than a few oops, but that's life. Helps you appreciate everything else. Be Happy Be Safe
  15. Wish I could do that with water, restrict drinking after 6pm. Though I do manage 6 hrs sleep, and is about all I need. When sipping, way back when, it seemed after a couple, it was then one in, one out, the rest of the night. Hmm... something wrong with that. Don't restrict drinking alcohol, as I just don't seem to want to any more. Flip side, last week or so, I had a burger & beer for an early brekkie, and damn they both tasted good. Out of beer now at the house, and TBH, can't see myself buying any more. Took over six months to drink that last slab, and most of that got drank when nephew was at the house for a couple weeks. Don't think I'll miss it.
  16. Yep, still waiting for it to get back to 40, where it was when I first got here. Or better, 40-45 when building 1st house and getting 1st car. Add low exchange rate to silly inflation, and those years of -0- COLA and the $$$$ just doesn't buy what it used to. Those thinking about retiring, do plan on 50% less buying power in a few years, if not more. If it happens, you're ready, if it doesn't, enjoy the extra. Remember, not having a plan ... ... is a plan to fail.
  17. You're starting a company, you have no intention of working or producing, selling a product, to skirt a law. Every idiot knows that isn't the correct thing to do. And if a noob, you're taking on partners you don't know, and own more of than you do. Let me invest in that one. And people wonder why they get fail in life. It amazes me that actually managed to get the funds to buy land & house.
  18. Want to own your house, buy a condo. Or don't risk losing you money, simply rent.
  19. I do, and charge mostly with solar, and we put on about 20k kms a year. If all local driving, I've calculated about 55k baht a year saved over the petrol version of the same car, MG ZS, as I owned the ICE version and now have the EV. So far we've been O&A (out & about) for 7k of the 18k kms so far, and actually O&A now. Have had solar at the house, for over 1 year, new build, installed Aug 2022. EV coming up on 1 year old (30 Oct). EV and solar were not really planned together. Solar for the house yes, the EV was an after thought, and only after MG upgraded the ZS, along with govt incentive (240k baht), so seemed liked a not brainer. Even though we had just bought the ICE version in 2020, when contracted the house & solar. Lost a wee bit in selling the 2020 ICE MG, as we usually keep cars for 5-7 yrs / 125k-150k kms. We charge basically all from excess solar, as the system usually provides more than enough for both house & EV, except on the most overcast & rainy days. Then barely enough for the house so days, but always enough. so system was sized just about right for us. With or without the EV. We're basically off grid, though still conx, JIC, but haven't needed. EV Solar
  20. It really shouldn't be any surprise to anyone, as just about every year the announce yet another crackdown.
  21. The whole premise is illegal & unethical, aside from giving up control of your finances. I find it really hard to believe so many actually do it. Usually involves a tidy sum of money.
