There is no such thing as happiness.
KhunLA replied to Robert_Smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
to the title ... ... always been happy. sometimes not as happy as others, but could always think about that next orgasm, and that alone puts a smile on one's face ð when at one of them low points, it's always reassuring and makes one happy, when you realize, 'damn, things can't get much worse than this' -

If getting (and qualifying for) a long term visa (for marriage or retirement) that is more than enough to live on, or should be. -
How much do you pay your Thai woman per month?
KhunLA replied to Robert_Smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
To the title ... that's a tough one to answer. ... actually pay her, for her -0- ... Now for Us .... what I do with my 'income' ... I eventually give it all to her, what we don't actually spend to live on. As I don't want it in my name, (funds in TH), for a few reasons. 1. statistically, I'll crap out first, so avoids any legal issue of her getting in that event. 2. she earns more of a pittance interest, than I do, if it sits in the bank. 3. one less form (FBAR) I have to be concerned about as USA citizen, with large balance in bank 4. if I have a major med oops, she has the money to pay hospital, if I'm unable to. Lastly, well, firstly, and more importantly, she can invest it in land, as I can not. Which she (we) have done quite successfully. Money she has received from me (as stated a few times ð), she invested in (land, house, land land land land), sold and now, has paid for everything we own that is appreciating (expect the BEVs). house, and 3 more lots of land, Those assets, free & clear, means we have minimal mandatory monthly bills, just; PWA, Ph & Internet. So the money I gave her, has allowed me (us) to live here virtually monthly bill free (<āļŋ1.5k ), and build equity, while now saving most (90%) of future income. All we have to really do, is feed ourselves, and continue to smile. Reality is, I pay her, to provide me with the most comfy & enjoyable life that she can, and she gets to keep anything left over. Left over = ever growing investments and big stash of cash. We seemed to hit the lottery with each other. Who knew ... Lucky Us I'll probably crap out tomorrow -
If a concern (should be) then live South, and would recommend Chumphon or below. Consistently better PM2.5 / AQI most of the year. Ranong, probably the best province for air quality, unless you are not a fan of rain at all. Will anywhere in TH compare to most of EU or N. American ... NO ... but fair trade off, to avoid the many negatives of living in those areas IMHO

How do you want things to be like by 2028?
KhunLA replied to hotsun's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I disagree, as I think most posters here are ... ... completely ignorant of politics, economics & world affairs ... living month to month ... saving up for their next orgasm with another person ... hope to drink enough alcohol to forget their reality till tomorrow ... have no plan for next week, let alone next USA presidential cycle ... aren't Yanks but obsessed about the USA more than Yanks ... full of hate for everything one can imagine ... wouldn't know what to do without the forum, as it seems to be their life Well, I feel better ... and that's all that matters ð -

Depends, what retirement means for you. Me ... no longer need to work for money. That was 20 yrs before what the 'company' and 'govt' considered retirement age, 65 & 66 respectfully. 45 / 46 worked nicely for me also. Didn't waste no time hanging out in USA. 45 yrs was enough, and really getting bored with the place. Not sure if best idea, but liquidated physical assets before leaving. Hindsight, continuing being a slum lord, would have been better, financially. One country I didn't research much at all, before arriving, so made a few classic mistakes when got here / TH, but somehow all worked out for the good, luckily.

How does one get that fat ? No mirrors, no self respect ... when was last time he saw his penis His stomach would enter the room before his feet

I'm think the opposite, as if I'm out of the house/building, then I'm living and experiencing life, exploring, and definitely, not reading a book of some other person's imaginary idea of life. And I've read my fair share of books, but 99% of the time, as simply time killers at work, a lot of time. A good bit of those, were financial books or magazines. Little reading at home, and never out of the house. That would equate to a waste of time, I'm never going to get back. A really poor meter for use of broader education.

In the prepared (microwavable) food section. Shelf with the 'bowls', and doesn't need water added to it.

For others, forgot, can't type last 3 letters. But brand and what it is, XiaomiTDSPen (total dissolved solids), and available on LAZ & Shopee. More info about testing pen, and local water (bottled), all good ... for link below, need to add the 3 letters inbetween Xiaomi & Pen , instead of <removed> in the link ð https://www.richardbarrow.com/2019/03/review-of-xiaomi-mi-<removed>-water-quality-tester-pen/

Pretty much ... takes out the chlorine smell & taste, and that's about it. Luckily we only had the 3 stage counter top thingy. Asked Pure if they offered anything that took out heavy metals, and answer was NO. Daughter has a fancy system, 3 stages, sand filter then RO as last stage. Was damn expensive and filters need changing more times than I'd want to do. Just drinking and cooking water so five 18+ jugs last us a while. A lot cheaper than the 6L for 29 baht we used to get from Makro. Wasted baht for couple years

They are very accurate (brand dependent), and I have a Xiaomi <removed>. Our tap before & after Pure filter was 160+ One thing they don't do, is tell what the dissolved solids are ð Just too many as far as I'm concerned. We now buy bottled RO water, and always < 5. 18+ liter jugs for āļŋ20, delivered. Also collect rain water, but not for drinking, just a stash for late April & May, when city pressure drops to silly low. Usually have stash of 18k liters on hand, till start using daily. Last till the rains stop. Last year, due to drought, they even shut the water off during the day, just before the rains kicked in. Tanks just got topped up today, as thunderstorm forecast was accurate. Along with solar panels now dust free
