  1. Stationary bike would be less impact on your joints. Have one and prefer that over treadmill. Lost quite a bit of weight using mine, and haven't needed in quite some time, as other changes keep me in my ideal weight area. Use to do 20 minutes a day, just after waking. Should start up again, as that metabolism boost seems to last all day. Better would be a 'ski machine', as had a NordicTrack machine in USA, and best thing ever for exercise, for me, though took a while to get used to. Haven't a clue where you'd get one here. edit; scratch the nordictrack, damn expensive and don't even think they offer the type I had, that was 40 ish years ago.
  2. Sadly I'm not, as everything within 5 kms of house, including PC. Though a bit irrelevant, as while up at Hua Hin the other day, Picked up stick (1 kg) of Chorizo, along with some Mozzarella, Swiss, Monterey & Pepper Jack, Provolone, Pastrami, Smoked ham. Already having plenty or Parmesan. Damn expensive also, and haven't bought any in quite some time. Always have Mozzarella & Parmesan on hand, but not the rest. That 2/1 w/100 off is hard to pass up.
  3. 2 for1 now (NY double pep) and if you pick it up, an additional 100 baht off. Think we're having pizza tonight 👍👍
  4. First of all, you might want to stick with white or lighter colors on sunny days, for the obvious reason. How long do you expect a T-shirt to last ? Can't remember the last time I wore a T- shirt. Think you need to upgrade your wardrobe.
  5. If you're going to question every source, and supposedly quoting the FBI. Then conversation over. PICK ONE Have a nice day.
  6. With no repeat offenders, so much less profit all around, since the problem got solved. Got to lobby for more everything; police, equipment, jails, lawyers/Unis, courts, judges, staff, security. And appeals, probation, rehab programs. It all adds up to billion or trillions $$$$ Sort of like curing diseases, no repeat customers. Cure gun crime, where's the profit in that. IMHO
  7. Apparently we are all wrong ... if this is accurate ... No minimum for mass shooting, just mass murder
  8. Exactly correct, and why the problem will never be solved. Crime is too profitable to the system. Not the dem or rep states or cities, its the prosecutors & courts, with their plea bargaining and lax sentencing. There should not be such a thing as a "repeat violent offender", especially if a gun is used in any crime, or even in their possession illegally. The citizens have the system they apparently want, or they would simply change it. Talking, blaming, arguing about it does nothing. These laws and officials is what they voted for and accept, so that's what the get. Som nam naa
  9. NO ... falls on the parents, fathers mostly, not taking responsibility for raising their children properly. As much as I think Harris is a joke, it certainly does fall on her. But the decades of 535 idiots, being re-elected by millions of other idiots, is the problem. Along with the very profitable revolving door prison policy. Solving it would be easy. Get arrested with a gun, for ANY reason ... life in prison. Get arrested shooting someone ... DEATH SENTENCE. Sell a gun illegally ... life in prison PROBLEM SOLVED .... you don't deserve to walk among the us.
  10. Think its 3 or 4 injured in any shooting. Not the same as mass murder. But how, why stick to specifics, but 4 deaths or more. 49 mass murderers (4 or more) so far ... and yes, way to many. Though some do include the shooter (suicide), so maybe not all 49 are mass murders. Didn't bother reading all of them. Guns aren't the problem people. People (fatherless) are the problem,, and the breakdown of the family unit. Economy doesn't help either when both parents, if having, have to work to feed those with too many kids.
  11. They really need to give gang bangers free shooting lessons. When they take out the trash, they sure do leave a mess. Oh well ... just another day in paradise ... families without 'FATHERS' ... Go figure 😎
  12. Biggest surge, I don't think so, as dipped below 30 six ish times since I've been here, 2000. News never fact checks itself here It's got another 4 baht to go before any 'biggest surge' Now, it's about at it's medium over the last 25 years. Once was really nice for me, as sold the 1st house at one of those <29 weeks, and the funds were transferred in the USA $$$ to $$$. Showed a hefty profit, and not brought over to TH till it recovered on the high side 😁 Built at 40+ ($20k) sold at 28+ ($46K ?) ... 😁
  13. Well aware why Thai Imm stopped accepting them. Actually surprised that they ever did, since not substantiating info. Still believe it would be simple enough to make them, or the SS statement itself acceptable as authentic.
  14. Don't know about that, as obvious they ignore it ... IMHO We could simply give them permission to verify the info. Or they could simply issue an affidavit, that the yearly SS statement is authentic, true & accurate. We're not talking rocket science here, but as stated, happy that they are useless as save $50 a year.
  15. Here's an E-MC worth a peek, if need top end & range
  16. Found this ... Awesome
  17. That's <1400 posts ... so leaves 1200 other posts. Guessing more than a few of ours are replies to silly posts. Which I myself have refrained from, as much as possible, replying to the trolls, unless something seriously need correction, though more so on other BEV threads.
  18. From S03 started ... (trailer)
  19. As Sheryl ask, a bit more info would help. But if at rest, that's a bit high, and lower # is usually a bit more important. Is 135/88 he lowest it ever is ? When active, yes, of course the upper # will increase, though lower shouldn't go up too crazy. Are you on med ? Statin only lowers your cholesterol, and a bit of controversy if that really matters as much. If blood vessels are getting a bit restricted flow, blood thinner (aspirin) and or Calcium channel blockers (CCB), doing the obvious, keep calcium from build up, along with some flexibility and dilate the blood vessels, as they stiffen with age. I take both; aspirin & Manidipine. Vasodilators also dilate the blood vessels. Not familiar with them myself. Maybe go to a cardiologist, as the person to ask. At 70+, a check up would never hurt. We're not Docs and just speculating.
  20. That was part of my stack, and of course they accept. Didn't imply that they wouldn't. I was just thinking 1 govt issued statement proving the income, would be a whole lot easier, all the way around for all. Understand them not accepting the 'income statement' from US Embassy, since embassy staff to lazy to push a couple keystrokes to verify your info. But happy to take your $50 bucks for doing nothing. So glad TH Imm no longer accepts them, as I save $50.
  21. Cross country E-MC ... owner wasn't around so couldn't ask her what make/model. Definitely not DECO, as way better spec'd. At Bangchak / PEA CS ...
  22. That's why for the best, accurate & up to date info, you should go the the Imm office you are going to use, and ask them. Not rely on 'important' info to come from strangers on a forum, who may or may not know what "that Imm office" requires or allows. If any Yanks that use the Hua Hin are wondering, if they will accept your Soc Sec statement of COLA & monthly income ... that would be NO. As asked the other day while there. I got my 15 pieces of paper stack from my bank, & my govt issued SS statement, all of 1 page ... hmm, can't hurt to ask. Oh well. Why make the process simple and 300 baht cheaper, as that's asking way too much
  23. Yes used to have, use for emergencies, IF, they popped up. Luckily none did. As wasn't into saving for emergencies when a youngin', as money not working for you is useless. Investing or emergencies, at worst, paid off ASAP, 6 months or less. If you can't afford to pay cash, you probably can't afford to buy it yet. Borrowing money to buy depreciating products probably means you don't have savings and living month to month to begin with. Not a good place to be, as once in that hole, hard to see daylight.
  24. I never warmed up to the place. Been there more than a few times, same with Jomtien & north of Patts. Unless frequenting bars, pretty boring place, and surf sucks. Taking a boat to a beach, from a beach, which many suggest, never made sense me. Main reason, just too many people & the congestion. Crime always seem to be in the news, but I've lived in supposedly high crime areas before, and never an issue. Nicest thing there was CarreFour when it just opened ... Now having the worlds largest 7-11 ... Amazing Thailand I can think of a lot of worst places to live, like all of the NE & N during smog season
  25. I'm a rainy season fan. Everything is green, fresh clean air, great vistas, no air pollution. Overcast, no or less brutal heat days. An occasional light show with boomers, what's not to love. Added plus, O&A are cheaper, supply & demand dictates, along with less tourist & congestion. Win win all around.
