Alcoholics with co-exisiting sex addiction
KhunLA replied to Andy F's topic in I Drink Too Much Forum
If you say, think so. I'm of a different opinion. Just have to agree to disagree. I easily enjoy both, with no issues: 1 moderately 1 as much I wish Others who have no will power, need to concentrate on themselves. Let the rest of us enjoy what we enjoy. -
Alcoholics with co-exisiting sex addiction
KhunLA replied to Andy F's topic in I Drink Too Much Forum
Unlike alcoholism (damage to your body), SA, if there is such a thing, isn't a problem, unless it becomes a problem. Don't think too much sex, if a thing, has ever harmed anyone, as long as consenting adults. For me, on the alcoholism issue, I think I've had about 3 beers (490ml) since mid Oct. 5 at the most, if there was 2 in the frig before I bought the last slab, as there's only 3 missing from it. And I never keep more than 2 in the frig at any time. Why I only buy a slab (12 cans) when they are fresh, as may take me 6 months to finish. Seems I sip less in the new house. Was good for about 2 beers a month prior. Going out on a limb here, and thinking 3 or 5 beers in that many months, isn't a problem. -
25+ visits to, and never asked for either. Should always have both with you, DL at least. Can't really remember ever being asked for PP in TH.

Rent or buy a condo I've never understood why anyone would do the leasehold thing. As long as you don't expect any return on a leasehold ... UP2U 6 houses later and a few rentals and I really never lived anywheres for more than a few years. So a 30-year anything, that's way too long, and unpredictable for me.

‘High chance’ of mass shooting in Hollywood was prevented, police say
KhunLA replied to Scott's topic in World News
If they don't want them to ever get out, and there's no mandatory long sentence, then they do the consecutive thingy. Try to tack on as many years as possible. Depends how many of those firearms were illegal, and legality of probable cause to search. Worse case scenario would be just the 2 semi autos & mags were illegal, with iffy search. Then prosecution might take the easy win, and drop it to a misdemeanor, and he'd get 1 yr ... ???? That would suck: "Some individuals who illegally possess a firearm in California may be subject to misdemeanor charges. These charges can include up to $1,000 in fines and no more than a year spent in county jail." https://www.simmrinlawgroup.com/faqs/how-much-jail-time-do-you-get-for-possession-of-a-gun-in-california/#:~:text=Some individuals who illegally possess, year spent in county jail. We'll never know, as never follow up news-blips, especially if gets a lite sentence. -
‘High chance’ of mass shooting in Hollywood was prevented, police say
KhunLA replied to Scott's topic in World News
Because he made threats to staff, per news-blip, and that's enough for probable cause, especially if he said he'd shoot someone. Problem is, when they sentence people, it's usually concurrent. Best one could hope for, is he also gets a federal charge, since carries higher penalty. But California likes being anti-Fed. You know, that sanctuary city / state BS. Anything less than a minimum 10 yr stretch is a joke. Be nice if they gave him 3 yrs for each firearm, and not concurrent sentence. If all were illegal firearms, that would be 21 yrs (7 firearms). -

How soon before he's out of jail ? Possession of illegal firearm should be life in jail, no parole. When the time fits the crime (potential to kill) ... maybe they'll think before violating the law. Possession of illegal firearm ... doubt he'll do much more than 1-3 yrs ... IF that. Googling ... and yea, California's revolving door prison system. What a joke: "Unlawful firearm possession can result in up to $10,000 in fines and up to 3 years in jail " https://www.tarmanlaw.com/criminal-defense/gun-possession/#:~:text=Unlawful firearm possession can result, you need a good defense. -
If concerned, just wear a N95/99 mask, and one with a vent, for a bit more comfort. Holiday in the south, or get some indoor hobbies with some air purifier use. Works for me, but our AQI is usually around 75+/- ... when higher, I stay indoors and keep myself occupied.

Pretty obvious, if you DO NOT live here, opening a bank account would imply, you're doing something illegal. Who flies to another country they don't live in, to open bank accounts ... criminals hiding money. Amazing that people that follow the rules & requirements have no problems. Join the rest of us, and get a proper visa, out of country, put some roots down, simply a lease, in country, then extend in country. Doesn't get any easier.

Thailand to reduce the 50-micron of PM2.5 safety standard to 37.5 microns
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Along with the rest of SEA, India, China ... 1 giant inversion. You can't really imply, it's the cooler air keeping the smoke from burning season closer to ground level vs the burning season itself. Burning season is the problem, not the cooler air. There's cooler air all across USA & EU, and they don't have our krappy AQI #s. -
Apparently there's an all inclusive weather / AQI station just up the road from me. Does agree with my AQI meter more than IQair, which is usually higher than my meter. Still 'poor', but better than IQair readings, which I think come from Hua Hin, as doesn't state location of meter, but would make sense. I like that right after the poor AQI report, there's and advert to "Retied in TH" ????

Thailand to reduce the 50-micron of PM2.5 safety standard to 37.5 microns

So TH is shooting to get down to just 'unhealthy' vs very unhealthy PM2.5 levels ???? From June 1st ... rainy season ???? Two or three different levels of 'unhealthy', and TH can't even get to the higher end of almost healthy. Some areas, Nov to Apr = long term. "What is a healthy PM2 5 level? Most studies indicate PM2. 5 at or below 12 μg/m3 is considered healthy with little to no risk from exposure. If the level goes to or above 35 μg/m3 during a 24-hour period, the air is considered unhealthy and can cause issues for people with existing breathing issues such as asthma." https://www.indoorairhygiene.org/pm2-5-explained/#:~:text=Most studies indicate PM2.,breathing issues such as asthma. "WHO now recommends a maximum level of 5 μg/m3 for fine particulate matter (PM2.5) for long-term exposure to protect health. These Guidelines are addressed to all countries of the world and provide uniform targets for air quality." https://epha.org/the-who-air-quality-guidelines-should-be-used-to-set-air-pollution-reduction-targets-in-our-cities/#:~:text=For instance%2C the WHO now, uniform targets for air quality. I'm guess 3 or 4 months is considered 'long term': "What is a good µg m3? National Ambient Air Standards are established to be protective of public health. The short-term standard (24-hour or daily average) is 35 micrograms per cubic meter of air (µg/m3) and the long-term standard (annual average) is 12 µg/m3." https://www.health.ny.gov/environmental/indoors/air/pmq_a.htm#:~:text=National Ambient Air Standards are,is 12 µg%2Fm3. How do you manage to get good long lasting batteries?
KhunLA replied to In Full Agreement's topic in General Topics
I did state 'not recommended' ... unless you're going to pay attention & DO outside ???? That's charging a non rechargeable. The other, reviving a dead rechargeable is safe to do. Better not to run them down to nothing. -
Mid May to Nov, the AQIs are usually fine, during rainy season. To wet and green to burn anything.

That's a window in master bath, and letter/#s haven't a clue, wife's handy work. There's an outside cooking area now, outside the laundry area. It's basically a giant eat in kitchen with 1 bedroom ???? We don't get guests, and I've never used a living room. Veranda, sitting area, and storage/laundry to the side.
