Guns have become the leading cause of death for American kids
KhunLA replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
I won't argue that -
Go to Booking.com, pull up hotels for Bangkok ... Filter 4 & 5 star Now filter the amenities you'd expect at a 4 or 5 star hotel. I've done this, and got less than 10 remaining, and this pre covid Still, I don't think some offered 24 hr room service, or a concierge to get entertain tickets. Tailor or hair salon on site.

Guns have become the leading cause of death for American kids
KhunLA replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
In theory, that sounds reasonable. In reality ... well, it's not working in the USA MY HOMETOWN area, and a few stats. 1960, buy a firearm anywhere, nobody cared if you carried one, as long as not a felon, and you behaved yourself. NOW, don't even think you can buy one in the city, and it's rare to be issued a carry permit. So less guns, less killing isn't a reality. So you think, more people now, more killing ... NO, almost 25% less people now. Info sources from linked 1960 ... 150 murders, no breakdown for firearms. 1984 ... breakdown % by firearms, buying & carry restricted. 1990 ... peaked @ 500 & 67.4% 2015 ... quit breakdown 2020 ... murders peaking again ... nuff https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Philadelphia https://mikenutterllc.com/news/news-item/philadelphia-homicides-1960-2020 -

What is your plan when China invades Taiwan?
KhunLA replied to Adumbration's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
And yet, India doesn't even recognize Taiwan as an independent country. Nor does the UN. -
Wars simply end up replacing one tyrant with another. Nothing really changes.

Dual Pricing Reconfirmed In Thailand National Parks

Tourist & guest, even myself, don't get free healthcare in my home country, so why would I expect it here. Except on principle, dual pricing is just wrong, it doesn't affect me at all, I don't think. -

Reality ... nobody cares about Taiwan, IMHO. Just like Russia, nothing has happened, a few headliner of rich folks having their toys impounded, and they'll get them back. EU depends on RU for energy. Haven't heard any boycotts of that. The world depends on China's manufacturing, in whole or parts. The western world would come to a grinding halt in about 2 years if China stopped trading. Asia, ASEAN & RU alone would keep China going & fed. Crying about fake inflation now .... think how bad it would be if China boycotted you. -

Been talking about scrapping them for 20 yrs, and yet, they've done nothing but double them ???? OH ... you meant scrapping the current price, and instituting new, higher prices ???? -

Dual Pricing Reconfirmed In Thailand National Parks

Actually I think the whole neighborhood is old money, no yuppies, x, y, or z genners here. Big cash fan myself. Can remember last time any payment of mine involved interest on a principle. Maybe 1985, on 3rd property and free & clear before 1990. Tenants paid that anyway. People should only pay interest on mortgage, as probably their only purchase that will appreciate. And pay that down with every extra baht they have. Anything else buying, cash, or you can't afford it, and shouldn't be buying it. -

Phom jon mak mak ... ???? Seems everyone in my neighborhood is sittin' prettier than me. Renting (1 of 2 available, how embarrassing), can only afford a cheap a$$ Chinese MG. Have E-scooter, since can't afford petrol. On that, just noticed 91/95 knocking on ฿45 ???? Can only afford to feed 1 small dog. They all own their homes, got multiple high end cars, got multiple big guard dogs ... it's damn embarrassing. -

Not really. How do you find out about or research Samet, and not know it's a nat. park. What site doesn't mention it being a park when saying how wonderful it is. Who doesn't check, how to get there, and what's the cost, fees are involved. If people are that stupid, they really shouldn't be traveling internationally. -

Can't blame price gouging on UA/RU, as just a fake excuse the corporation & govt use. Record profits prove that. I'm not playing the game with them. ICE car use down 95% Stop buying pork till price came back down Fruits & veggies at local fresh markets All easy enough to do, if needed or wanting for spite -

Last paid concert was 1D (that's embarrassing), and also EC in Thailand, and we paid the same price as Thais. And both were the most expensive concerts I ever attended. ???? HH Jazz festivals, used to be free, again, same as Thai price ???? Sporting event ... to watch a bunch of overpaid cry babies kneel ... that would never happen. Amusement Park - Disney 35 ish yrs ago, fairly expensive (not like today), but we all paid same price. Dream World (TH) - slight farang premium, but not 10-20X Thai price, and nobody forced me to enter. Never been forced to pay more than any local for any mandatory services. -

Not a fan of dual pricing, but nobody is forcing anyone to come to Thailand, or enter or use any services when here. Accept or avoid UP2U Life is full of choices. -
