Give it a try, but I doubt it. The anti EV / China folks will change the subject somehow. Almost as bad as most threads turning into a covid / vaccine debate.

PROS AND CONS, for/against Honda Wave v Honda Click
KhunLA replied to mercman24's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
He's a msg I recently sent someone who asked for info / links of. Screenshots of what I paid. Welcome any corrections on my thoughts about motor & battery, as quite the novice myself. Short answer __________________________________________________________ Both are out of stock: Conversion kit I paid ฿7250, and was the last one in stock. 2 price drops since I bought it, and has not been restocked https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i1316656511-s3263488040.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1&spm=spm%3Da2o4m.order_details.item_title.1 The battery was ฿2890, and the cheapest 48v/30Ah battery I found. As I stated, 30Ah is really questionable, and my range should be better than 15-20 kms, using approx 80%. Happy with it, since cheap, and I don't need to go further than 20 kms. I'm 80-85 kgs. Batteries are really expensive, especially if going name brand; LG, Panasonic or Samsung. Still out of stock also: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i2907178430-s10636835484.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1&spm=spm%3Da2o4m.order_details.item_title.1 Something to consider, using a 500w motor, as should increase your range. I would still stick with a 48v motor / battery, or if going 1000w, up it to 60v motor/battery. Along with with as much Ah as you can afford. Power (Watts) is you v X Ah = watts. So mine 48x30 has a potential of 1440w, as motor rated for minimum of 1000w. Always make sure you v&Ah matches or exceeds you motor watts. I'd test drive a 500w bike before going lower than 750 or 1000w. Here's a ballpark idea how much 'store bought' ebikes are: https://www.bkkebike.com/e-bike-thailand I had my Schwinn, as I said is heavy, and only 7 speed, so slow going, though fine, as I didn't go far on it, since 1.5 kms from surfside road, and <5 kms from swimmer's beach. Schwinn @ 11k + 7.4 + 2.9 = ฿21.3k e-bike (1000w 48v/30Ah), so not bad at all. Could have cut 5k off, by simply buying a cheaper bike and converting that, but had the Schwinn, so why not. Also moving a few more kms away from surf soon next month, and know I probably wouldn't ride much more. Anything I can help with, feel free to ask. Only thing I had to mod, was swapping out the controller & battery leads, as not compatible, so used xt60's, which I had from my other e-toys. Cheap and available if not having. -

I know all about HUD / Sec 8, as a big part, playing slumlord, and how I retired early. Socialism is a beautiful thing. Can think of no better / safer investment. Chester, PA, USA - 0 income applicants... doesn't get any better for the investor. Low buy-in, low taxes, high rents ... cha-ching ???? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chester,_Pennsylvania#Demographics

Along with selling prices. Daughter buying a townhouse, advertised at starting ฿2.99 and now offered at ฿2.4 ... ???? Along with <3% interest. On a 30 yr mortgage, about the same she's paying (฿10k) now for her small condo. She knows not to do the silly 30 yr thing, but if had to, hard to pass up, if knowing you'll be there for about 10 yrs, which she will be.

Have to agree, and the MB cut that way too close while passing. Buggy not out of lane when point of contact. Passing at a crosswalk, is that even allowed, along with the solid white line (no passing) on road. BIB handled that one correctly. Justice ... be careful what you ask for.

Thailand to Host Its First International Air Show in 2027
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand current 'combat' fleet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_of_the_Royal_Thai_Air_Force Lived near RTAF Wing 23, and quite enjoyed the touch & go training, that circled the house there. Though lived far enough away not to be annoyed, as one friend lived much closer, and they drove him crazy. Actually had to be careful flying my drones, as some were quite low flying, invading my 'legal' airspace, though rare. Not that I always stayed at the legal ceiling myself. Live near RTAF Wing 5 now, and enjoy their training planes, touch & go, almost on a daily basis. -

Only if those POSs will be delivered by then, and not grounded once here ... ???? A bit of forward planning 2027, although ... next pandemic may have something to say about it ... ???? Negativity aside, would be a nice event to attend, hopefully not rainy or smog season, for us photo bugs. -
What is the advantage of an expensive smart phone?
KhunLA replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Probably mentioned, as I didn't read previous replies. It's the camera that 'should' dictate the price. Operating systems, top line are are about the same, and more than anyone really needs. Camera sensor and ability to change setting sets them apart. New iPhone & G Pixel 6 are simply amazing, and almost equal to any $1000 entry level interchangeable lens camera kit. Already have a few of those camera kits, I did still want one, phone, with a decent camera. But not going to pay crazy baht for it. Went with POCO X3 (Xiaomi), and all of ฿7300 & has very good 'pro' camera, and eis vid, for those times I'm caught out without one of my camera kits. Main selling point, aside from camera, one of the last phones, with removable battery. For me, it's nothing more than a camera, GPS, that on rare occasions, I use to make a phone call. -
Ditto ... 20+ yrs here, 4th new car, and our MG ZS-D is excellent value, and didn't see anything that compared. Also bought Thai made/assembled in the past (2 Toyota / Mazda), and agree, being best values. Have in the past owned performance cars (Firebird) and luxury cars (Caddy). So I wasn't ignorant what to expect, as the ZS is a step up from the previous Vios & Mazda2 owned here. MG ZS is all around comfy for me & performs well. Has everything I need / want, and didn't need / want to pay extra for. Not sure if I'll ever need another car, but would certainly buy another MG if nothing else new caught me eye. That Marvel also caught my eye, maybe in the future ???? Most importantly ... Sniffy the WonderDog approves ... ????

Why do some of you even live here ? To the OP, most malls have a battery disposal bin / cabinet. Ask at information, or at one of the repair shops in Fortune Mall if you're going to be there. Also, most district offices have a collection area / bin / cabinet. As pointed out, don't use the trash/recycle bin, and F F S, don't just leave them out sitting some place.

What is (or was) your profession or occupation?
KhunLA replied to Paulaew's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My first real 'paycheck' job, out of high school was Lithographic Printing. Quite enjoyed that, very interesting, just hated the hours, as an 18 yr old, and thought I had better things to do at night instead of working. Falls under young & ignorant .... borderline stupid. Would have been a decent career, for 20 or so years, until things went digital, then they did finally go bankrupt. Along with 4 other companies I worked for. 3 airlines & that steel works place already mentioned ... ????
