New climate study raises alarm for Asian Megacities
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If they are buying mid size cars, then they can definitely afford an EV. Our MG ZS was ฿949k SUV/crossover and more than enough room for any family. Sounds like more excuses me. -
New climate study raises alarm for Asian Megacities
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If they can afford a new ICE, they can afford an EV. Especially if they go top end of entry level. Here that just about matches the MG EP @ ฿771k, and that's a lot of car for money. Neta V @ ฿549k and basically matches every entry level car here except Celerio or March, low end 3cyl types and considering what they offer, another 100k is well worth the investment, for low cost operation & maintenance. Long run, hard to beat the cost of owning an EV. -
I couldn't find much of anything on them. I've seen being used here, but nothing I'd put a 25kg dog on. Luckily my dog is a lightweight (12Kg) and fits in the MB basket. Secure leash to a D-ring, and we're good. She just sits back & chills. Sometimes when get back home, I have to tell here to get the hell up, we're done. I like the cargo trailer, and could put a floor on it, with a tent to provide some shade.

New climate study raises alarm for Asian Megacities

Keep telling yourself that. When I'm on the E-MB, behind fossil fuel burners ... I nose & eyes are telling me, I'm helping solve the problem, instead of being the problem. If waiting for others, politician to lead the way ... ... nuff said Mandates & cash incentives don't seem to be enough for some. There are no reasons, just excuse with hypocrites. -
Help understanding power generation and usage
KhunLA replied to statman78's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
My inverter shows how much/what and where it's going in every direction in real time. panels, grid, battery, load (house). On the inverter panel, and app. along with totals currently used/using and for the day. Not sure about the inverter, but app stores it all in memory, for years. Depending on need, in real time, the 'arrow' may reverse direction as we're looking at, if sun is blocked by a cloud and load is drawn from elsewhere (grid or battery) which we prioritize in the settings. Solar-battery-grid for us, till battery at certain %, then grid if no solar. Luckily, yet to 'need' the grid overnight or at all, since solar installed. -
I would think she can do it from any USA Embassy. Asking there, would be better than asking here. While at it, ask what is required, for the correct info, at the embassy she'll be apply at. That's the info you need and best place to get it. I thought that fell under the ol' uncommon common sense. Maybe Google doesn't answer questions nobody asked before.

Water purification machines, do you trust them?
KhunLA replied to Don Chance's topic in General Topics
I don't trust the water purifier we use at the house, let alone one that someone else is supposedly maintaining. If in the A. Muang, PKK area and need a source for drinking water, can recommend one locally, 18+L @ ฿20 each, delivered weekly or monthly as needed, no minimum or contract. Supplements our rain water supply. Tested w/<deleted> meter @ 5 ppm, so as good as any store bought. For reference filtered tap is 170ppm. Store bought bottled <10ppm, unless mineral water, then usually higher. https://twitter.com/RichardBarrow/status/1104275427378454528 -
Searched and couldn't find much of any, locally or Thai online vendors. ebay & others offering. Questionable or expensive.

Thinking about buying a used car in Thailand
KhunLA replied to SiSePuede419's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Not seeing much difference between M3 & Yaris. Notable L of Swift is obvious, but that's about it. Wiki states classification by interior space, though you have to wonder, about the M3 & Yaris being different. All of 5 cm or less L W H -
Think they raised it as much as they could, before major outrage. When they discontinue the discounts, will that be considered an increase, or just the rates. GO SOLAR ... if you can. Even a small system will benefit your wallet. Especially expats retired and home during daytime.

Scammed on Wise, how did this happen?
KhunLA replied to simon43's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Never had an 'active' card sent, or asked to assign a pin to it before it arrives. That's just bad business. One to stay clear of. Hope they have better security measures when transferring 1000's from one account to another. -

New climate study raises alarm for Asian Megacities
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As I read, to see who are the most hypocritical. Global Warming, glaciers melting, seas rising, CO2, carbon footprint ... the outrage. I don't deny, but I'm also not concerned about it. Surprising those that are concerned, haven't gone Solar or drive EVs. Even I care a bit about, and can do something, about the local air so we use both. And we're the ignorant ones ???? Lots of talking, no doing ... HYPOCRITES Just think if all you hypocrites, cared as much, about all our local concerns and used solar & EVs, instead of talking about it, then might actually compound globally and have an impact on what you are so outraged about. -

EV Owners … Real life experience & help thread

Posting that was a stretch .... google if interested. I really don't care. People never see, because they never look. Just hate when people question other 'reputable' (a stretch ????) members when they post. Love a challenge anyway, which that wasn't much of. Real advice, already given, but wait till you get here, rent near your work, then take a day or 2 and look around. Shouldn't take much longer than that. I've always found a rental in 1 or 2 days, when actually looking.

My brother retired from SEPTA, bus maintenance division. OK, nothing to do with electric buses, but so many posts have come up lately, all stating, they or their wives worked, and have 1st hand knowledge of. I couldn't resist, but he did work at Septa's bus & trolley repair shop. Anyway .... think I'll stick with CH products. https://whyy.org/articles/septas-cracking-battery-buses-raise-questions-about-the-future-of-electric-transit/ "It’s been nearly a year and a half since a passenger set foot inside one of SEPTA’s Proterra buses, which cost nearly a million dollars apiece when they rolled out in 2019. Most are now gathering dust in a South Philly bus depot, riven by cracked chassis and other defects. The diesel and hybrid buses that SEPTA planned to replace with the all-electric fleet remain in service, with no timeline for the e-buses to return. Externally, SEPTA has said little about the failed battery bus program or its progress in restoring the buses to service, insisting that it is working on a “resolution” with the bus manufacturer. But internal communications, obtained by WHYY’s PlanPhilly through a right-to-know request, reveal the incident shook SEPTA’s top executives and triggered a serious reevaluation of its plans to convert more of its fleet to electric power. They also show that damage to the buses was discovered even earlier than the agency previously acknowledged — before the buses even began regular service."

Surely with no parts or components from CH. Wonder who's battery pack they used ? Or circuits or chipsets, BMSs, or all them Taiwan (CH) parts, microchips, made from CH's raw materials.

Actually still there, since you 'quoted' it, in your reply. Ah yes, deleted, and as I stated, someone, why many of don't partake in many conversations. We'll just have to agree to disagree. -

Yea ... that was a bit of a stretch of almost a truth, from his POV ???? During Clinton administration (AL was VP), they did pass legislature that did help, extremely, the development of the internet. I love his self into on this vid @43 sec: "Hi, I'm Al Gore, I used to be the next president"
