  1. Chonburi ... in the top 10 most densely populated provinces ... and they expect what ??? Isan...10 minutes out, and your in rural areas. Flat & boring as hell, unless living on edge of the plateau. Lived there 16 yrs, could wait to leave. Certainly wouldn't be to Chonburi. Why did they even go to ? Little research goes a long way to enjoyable out & abouts.
  2. You do know a motorbike is a motor vehicle ... ???? Been driving them for 40 yrs, 22 yrs here, and no major oops yet. They as safe as your driving (defensive) ability. I have the bare minimum insurance on my motorbike, as that's all I need. Agree, 4 wheeler are safer ... usually. And Thailand is not the place for a westerner to learn on a motorcycle, unless living rural.
  3. Need to ask them ... ???? My guess, Yank badged resale value sucks here, especially with Chevy throwing in the towel. My brother loved his Ranger, had 2, just switch over to Ram, loves that also. Give me the best specs for best price, don't care what name is on it.
  4. ... simply a Mazda (T6), and been around for 15 ish years, so decent track record.
  5. Thanks. Life list, only started in Thailand, and up to 160 ish here, though suspect more, as I stopped looking at the minor differences in species. Notices others in FB wildlife group, and think ... "hold on, I got that bird" ... just didn't realize the variation and actually different name ... ???? Happy Snapping ... with both ????
  6. But what if they are 'trans' and both identify as males, then it would be 'husband' ... ????
  7. Ask your niece what she prefers or as stated already, simply use their names and skip the pronoun BS.
  8. Some folks can't read past the headline, and even get that wrong: "Closure of Pub-like Eateries to Be Mulled"
  9. And there lies the flaw with T&G, as they were out among people for 5 or so days, before 2nd test. Doing the potential math, and say they only infect 1 person each, who infect another, and if only taking that to the power of 3, and in a few weeks you have 1,679,616 new cases.
  10. Thai's mindset might be, intern'l tourism is done for now, and immediate future. So let's at least stop any new variants from entering. Sounds like a good plan to me, till people stop dying here. Really need to go back to 16 day quarantine for all arrivals. 65.24% of these came in on Test & Go And they are arriving / testing positive every day, and intern'l tourist, not Thais returning as some imply. Yesterday's tally was 351 tested positive, and very few are Thai. Top 15 arrival countries, testing positive, and 1st column of category are Thais. So from the UK 35 infected, 1 was Thai. What the hell, here 16-30
  11. Plenty that aren't, as not all are brainwashed. 20 yrs ago anyway. Still plenty of free thinkers in the world, thankfully, hopefully.
  12. Every country has lovely women, but how approachable are they ? Not talking about P4P. Didn't come to Thailand because of the women, as have those in USA. Though they are a nice plus here. More availability of younger gals, though wasn't a problem in USA, just less selection.
  13. Where's that from, one of those scam FB 'sponsored' adverts Real deal: https://www.medicaleshop.com/ewheels-ew-46-four-wheel-scooter
  14. Did you miss this part: Immigration police have taken him into custody for deportation which may take more than 2 weeks ... or longer, as an airlines won't take you till test negative. Now, where's that advantage. They should have insurance, would think testing positive would be covered. Getting deported, after in prison, which, now assume you need to buy a new, one way (expensive) return ticket, unless original was open return. Not really a position you want to be in vs a hospital stay, which may or may not be 2 full weeks or more. Any thought of ever returning to Thailand would be in jeopardy, though doubt anyone would.
  15. 3 of the 6 found https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2243907/3-europeans-sought-after-tests-turn-up-positive
  16. Not sure about some countries, but a couple FTA put import duty much lower. China, already mentioned - 0%. Japan - 20 %, so someone is taking the p i s s with the pricing. Guess they think Thais are rich. Nissan Leaf came in originally, and aren't selling well. This news-blip is interesting, Leaf starting at 1.99m, then 1.49m, Wonder what Metropolitan Electricity Authority paid for the 24, they bought. https://www.nationthailand.com/tech/30399581 Can't quote BkkPost, AN rules, but this blip shows some of the duty rates, and 80% is there. https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/2223187/state-mulls-cut-in-import-tax-on-evs
  17. Mute subject now for a while. 7-11 and sipping surfside or on the balcony. BYO always works, simply fill your Yeti, with your favorite tipple and you're all set while munching at favorite restaurant. I actually do that quite often, whether vendors are serving or not, as they don't carry my brand.
  18. What was invented in the year 1954? The first electric drip brew coffeemaker is patented in Germany and named the Wigomat after its inventor Gottlob Widmann. Staley T. McBrayer invents the Vanguard web offset press for newspaper printing in Fort Worth, Texas. The Angle grinder is invented by German company Ackermann + Schmitt (Flex-Elektrowerkzeuge).
  19. How hard is it to simply start sipping early, if you must. I can see the Qs now forming at 1700 hrs...a sure sign you may have a problem.
  20. ... and yet, reported as a possible effect. go figure. You forgot to quote my full reply, just an honest mistake, I'm sure:
  21. Spikes ... ???? When it's ฿40 / $1 ... I might call it a spike. Only care if it goes below ฿30, anything above ฿35, that will bring a big smile to my face. Anything in between, isn't news worthy.
  22. Not sure if that price included a subsidy or not ... https://chinamobil.ru/eng/great-wall/ora/good-cat/?view=props
