KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
Not the best time to be there. Surf has been really rough. Are the ferries even running ? -

Household Power Tariff Frozen from Jan to April
KhunLA replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Shh... ... although I would think my signature would point that out to most folks. It's all about .... ME ME ME ME ???? & my baht -
Yes, owner could live out of country, even in same neighborhood of the 'victims' ... ????
-
If you're not in country, would be really hard to follow through with any 'report', and what would be your cost to recover 5k, if you did live in country. 1st court appearance continued, 2nd, you win, and owner appeals. 3rd, you win again, and owner appeals again .... yea, Thai legal system. While scammers only steal multiple small amounts ... knowing tourist can't follow through with legal filings. Same with criminals, and petty crimes. Who's going to fly back to testify, someone stole your phone. They always win on appeal when the accuser doesn't show up. Be happy if you get the refund ... move on. Is this the same 3000 baht you sent at end of November ? https://aseannow.com/topic/1279097-condo-agreement/#comment-17753957

Thailand Presents Peace Initiative at ASEAN-EU Summit
KhunLA replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
All these self serving 'groups' (UN, ASEAN, EU), whatever, are the most hypocritical, silly, downright laughable people, with all the proposals to solve the world's problems. With today's information available, it's amazing the populous allows any of them to exist, while they steal all your hard earned income that they can via new taxes ... to solve the world & planet's problems. I hated paying 10-40% income taxes when I did work. Thankfully I don't have to now, as they really are wasting most of it on silliness, and lining their own pockets. UP THE REVOLUTION ... ???? -
Can is irrelevant, since did. Be thankfully the refund may be coming. Agree with others, either got better price, or got exposed for illegally renting out. Why I never bother with AirBnB, if that's who OP used. They do have nice large units at good prices. But I never stay anywhere that long, or stay in that much to enjoy the amenities. When we're out & about, we're out & about. I sit in at home.

I say give retail businesses & manufacturing 'free' electric. Charge the homeowner 10X what they pay now, with a 10X tax increase on electric ... ???? -
Household Power Tariff Frozen from Jan to April

So households dodge a rise in home electric use ... ... but can now expect a 20% almost across the board increase in prices of everything else. Lucky them ... us ???? -
Not that I would spend over 1m baht for any 4 wheeled vehicle, but I'd go with Tesla, as better spec'd & price. Simply don't trust Volvo or BMW, as put out a lot of krap in the past.

British woman breaks nearly every bone in face in Thailand

My CCs had medical/travel insurance, though never read the 'fine print'. Don't know if it covered 'stupidity' or 'high risk' activities. Even my debit cards have coverage, again, never read the fine print. Obviously she didn't spring for 'motorcycle riding/passenger' waiver with her travel insurance. And yet, hopped on one ... driven by ???? -
Prachuap Khiri Khan among the top earners from tourism in 2022
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
New-blip not about PKK municipality, just the province, mainly HH. In article, list of province by foreign visitors and PKK not on the list. As mostly a domestic tourist destination. BKK weekenders, and same with PKK municipality, though nothing like HH. PKK municipality doing better, but still slow to recover. Dead during the week and weekends are always busy. With local (100 kms radius) and bkk weekenders who make the extra effort with another hour south pass HH. Interesting they use the same 'file photo' when stating tourist numbers are low ???? -

Seems well to do, herself, and possibly family. Cancel NZ part, refund, family can chip in and done, all paid up. International holiday, island / country hopping, can't be that skint. 'break from career' ... sounds like should have some savings and or equity. Borrow & sell something later on return. OR... go fund me, and let others pay for it. Who was driving, and what insurance was there. Was driver, he/she/it responsible and a qualified, licensed driver. Friend or hired driver ? Aside from that ... hope for a speedy recovery. -

Yea ... it's an industry within itself ???? A work in progress for me. My brother actually weened himself off his MS meds. Against his doc's advice ... ???? Never felt better and completely symptom free now, for the past 10 ish years. Damn expensive stuff also. Early retirement would have been impossible if he had to pay for it, even just the deductibles. Silly priced USA healthcare. Probably why he'll never visit me here, as heat was a trigger for him. ????

"You can wear anything that looks to build confidence for yourself" So ... is it a swimsuit contest or a race ... and 3 whole kms ... just bouncing or swinging along, depending on gender ???? Yea I know, 3 kms in sand, is probably like 5 to 10 on the track. And here I came to TH for the temples, and non flamboyant Buddhist life.

Thankfully weight is not a problem, though I did lose a couple kgs in those 6 ish weeks. Intermittent fasting has helped me maintain a decent weight. Only fluctuates a couple kgs through out the year. Get my daily walks in with the dog, nothing too long or strenuous though, so will start using the pedal bike more often.

Got to take all with a grain of salt ... although ... I wouldn't call CR a rag, since a subscriber based magazine/site, company, doing consumer product testing & review from yearly subscriber surveys. Gives CR quite a bit more credibility over advertiser funded rags & sites. I was a subscriber for many years in the USA, and based my many, most expensive purchases from their recommendations, and all very accurate.
