  1. Is it just an added document? What else do you use for income verification?
  2. Think you need a better circle of friends. Most Thais I know treat me as fairly equal, and not much different, sometimes much better than the folks back in the homeland.
  3. I gargle with wine or beer ... then swallow. One has to exercise equality. ????
  4. 5. I understand the law, thank you. She was tried in Fed court.
  6. Been there, done that, but 80+hr a week. Still had a great quality of life, just little less time to enjoy it. Along with 2 back to back 12 shifts (7pm-7am) at restaurant on the weekends at 15 yrs old together with working 3 nights a week till 1 am. All illegal, as didn't even have work papers, and when legal, at 16, (not allowed to work more than 4 hrs a day, or past 7pm), nothing changed. And teachers in HS used to wonder why I fell asleep in class, if I showed up at all. Doesn't include the child labor laws I broke since about 10 yrs old. Ups & downs along the way, 30 something yrs old and living in an unfinished basement, and then later, the opposite, paying more income tax than most working people earned, the few times I hit the top 5% tax brackets. Quality of life didn't change, just had more than enough vs barely enough, sometimes living on CCs. Only difference with more $$$, bit more comfortable living & more toys.
  7. After replied, I read a transcript of some of the 'damaging' testimony given. As silly as an actress going to a producer's hotel room at midnight after drinks in a bar, and thinking it's really about a movie script. They saw dollar signs, and all this 20+ yrs after the fact. They or parents didn't go to the police to file a report back then. Only came forward when Epstein's estate was up for grabs.
  8. Anyone who bases their 'quality of life' on income or possession ... doesn't understand what quality means. The only difference between being a 'have' or 'have not', would be comfort level. More than a few millionaires have off'd themselves ... guess having too much money didn't help their quality of life.
  9. Didn't follow the case, but I doubt if any of the 'abused' didn't know exactly what they were doing. Compensated quite well for it also. Always seems to be years later, when they realize they can squeeze more money out of the system, by claiming 'abuse'. Don't think she was kidnapping anyone off the streets.
  10. Especially is sipping more than a couple everyday. Will easily surpass there food budget. We won't even discuss cigs ... as amazing how much they cost, and people still indulge.
  11. What business do you own ? Samui, that's one boring, expensive place. Why anyone goes there is amazing. Plenty of covid there also.
  12. I don't believe the BS, and usually eat indoors. Nothing to fear from either. Breathing air doesn't scare me, been doing it all my life. Two restaurants I frequent closed for short time due to infected staff. I still eat there also.
  13. There are a few EVs (cars & scooters) made / assembled in Thailand. Couple more will be added to that list, this coming year and next. https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/transport/the-latest-on-ev-production-in-thailand
  14. Corn flakes (Nestle) and raisins, 5 out of 7 mornings for brekkie w/large coffee (3 tsp sugar). Nothing wrong with sugar .... moderation. Most store bought pie here is c r a p, and too heavy for first meal. If wanting a pie, I'll just make beef stew. Much healthier if that's a concern.
  15. All issues, a thrifty shopper, should know before purchasing. First thing I asked before I bought my scooter, was how much for a replacement battery. What and how it's attached, along with dimensions, for alternatives, JIC. Although with the 2 yr warranty, and rated for 1200 cycles, not much I need to worry about. Another reason I'm not ready for the MG ZS EV or similar, besides the price tag vs my ZS (ICE), what's the resale / trade-in value going to be in 5-8 yrs, or worse 9 yrs, and who would buy. EV makers need to guarantee a trade in value (pro-rated), on their next purchase at same brand dealer, and I think that would go a long way to boost sales. As that's a big question mark, many aren't ready to roll the dice on. Over the life of the warranty, by my quick calculations, a ZS EV vs ICE will pay for itself, but at the end of that 8 yrs, what are we talking.
  16. And covid is ~100 nm range ... "Surgical masks showed penetration levels of approximately 55–85% and 70–90% at flow rates of 30 and 100 liters/minute, respectively, for 300 nm particles. The most penetrating particle size (MPPS) was in the 200–500 nm range. Surgical masks were found to be less efficient compared to dust-mist (DM) and dust-mist-fume (DMF) respirators."
  17. ... not in Thailand, unless I missed something. Fomm doesn't do anything for me, especially at that price point. Wuling would be just around town, 15-30 kms a day, and what I do now on the scooter. Risk of accident almost nil ... with another car anyway. Wouldn't pay more than 200k for it though, as don't need ... I just like. I only go to the park, 1/2 km away or the surf 1.5 km away, along with a ride along the surf for a few kms everyday with the doy. Less than 5 kms away when we move next year, so a tinker car is fine. They sell another one here, 165/249/279k but the specs aren't as good, and company has no real track record. https://xn--m3cbjb3aaodh0nxab5rucxb.com/#suv
  18. How many people you see using N95? Topic is cloth...nuff said
  19. I could have lead with this ... "SARS-CoV-2 is an enveloped virus ≈0.1 μm in diameter" Then I'd have to explain that, so used molecule. Sometimes it's hard to talk down to the class.

  21. If wanting find out units per month, could do a reverse calculation. Take your bill total, and divide by 4.25, and that will give you a ballpark monthly unit usage. You can play with their 'bill calculator' if wanting to narrow it down ... ???? https://eservice.pea.co.th/EstimateBill/# The bill I posted, usage vs charge and using 4.25 was only 10 units off. 506 = ฿2110 ... actually bill ฿2110 ÷ 4.25 = 496 units ... guesstimate
  22. For those wanting to save themselves a trip to the office for history report, this 'may' help. https://www.pea.co.th/en/e-Service/Meter-Reading-History
  23. All other issues & opinions aside, infrastructure, grid, water and importantly roads, since enjoy my self-drive out & abouts, is the main reason for staying in Thailand vs say Cambo or Nam. Weather being another, as Nam is closer to the storms that affect Thailand
