  1. Yea, but that wasn't Thailand. Smaller definitely better here, to a point.
  2. Less than 100 baht a day. Don't know anyone who would work for less than 400 a day. Yes, we travel in different circles.
  3. Seems the same as Philly metro drivers. Use to fly to Clearwater beach area, a couple times a month, (long distance relationship), and didn't notice a whole lot of difference. Though rarely drove in rush hour traffic there.

  5. New ... hell no. Give him your car, and buy yourself a new one. Within a year, he'll ding it up a couple times. I gave my daughter the Mazda 2, and picked up new car for us, and yep, she dinged up 2 out of 4 corners of the car already. It's what we all do with 1st car. As a youngin, I totaled a few, used, so were expensive oops. Smaller is better, easier to miss sh!t, and find parking.
  6. Model would help. I've owned a few, Mazdas and never a problem. Entry level, few options, so less problems to occur. Mazda 2 here, Mazda 3 back in USA, along with Ford Fiesta by Mazda, all ran fine. Mazda dealer here did all the oil changes & maintenance. In 7 yrs only need one front strut / shock replaced (damn potholes) @ Udon Thani dealer and excellent service. All wheel bearing had to be replaced, as I drove through deep water a few too many times, and they aren't sealed, so not a Mazda issue, per se, though should have been sealed, just something to be aware of. Do NOT use Mazda service dept @ Pranburi, as can't seem to do the simplest things correct. Hua Hin was very good. If in the neighborhood. Costs, labor inexpensive, everything thing else seemed in line with Toyota dealer, owned 2 of those here. Parts for both, hit & miss, the damn strut was expensive, I thought, as not standard shock, which are inexpensive. A friend was a Honda fan, until he wasn't, but think it had more to do with the OTT farang pricing he was getting from the local dealer. He quoted me some silly prices for basic stuff, so that was understandable. Can't image Thais tolerating that type of pricing.
  7. Protect your eyes, as I've watched my father, get 'welder's flash' too many times, dumb a$$, and not a pleasant experience at all.
  8. I don't thinks so. Owning multiple houses & cars, when retired is not on credit. 10-20-30 rai of land, one bil owns 70 rai, just gave wife and most family members wanting one a rai. Only wife and nephew accepted, and most had too much already. Put kids through Uni ... seriously think you need a better (financially) circle of friends & family. Who do you think is driving all the SUVs & 4X4s, not the farangs. Even is on bank loans ... they paying for it, so not skint. Existed quite well, way before farangs arrived.
  9. Hi ... name is LA, and I'm an addict Been order free for about 4 years, almost , though admit to an order or 2 every month or so. Started with electric toys / drones was in entry order. Then I started building them, until I owned about 30 before I realized I had a problem. Got off the drones, only to fall into the RC car & boat crowd. In rehab now, and most orders are for necessities, household things, at least that's what I tell myself. I had a strong partner helping me, for a while. But now she's addicted. I feel intervention is needed.
  10. Ditto, didn't do anything for me. Matter of fact, one of the only meals ever, I didn't bother finishing.
  11. One of the sillier statements I've ever read. Most Thais I know are quite flush, much more so than myself, and I'm far from skint.
  12. Not a problem with BkkBank, as you can only download / authorize it at the back. The app itself sucks, and after 3 time having & crashing I gave up and didn't reload it. Didn't use it much anyway. Only have a bank account for Imm.
  13. Not really. Just a heads up to the OP, in case the low carb thing, is to lose weight, as that might not work. Still indulge myself, as I stated earlier, prefer Stolis, though more a Bacardi drinker, or beer when I can find my brand.
  14. for ... "The United States and the United Kingdom have slashed " ... And, we're in thailand. If feeling under the weather, you self test, doesn't tell you what variant you have. If minor symptoms, are you actually going to test yourself, or go to the hospital to get tested, and risk a longer than you want, stay in a private hospital .... until they deem you safe to leave, probably after a negative test. However long that will take. No thanks. If flying in and testing positive, no matter what variant .... off to the hospital. Again .. THAILAND. .
  15. Problem solved, that sounds handy for those on their phone. ????
  16. Not wrongly, when I originally replied, didn't realize you were using phone to order. Do you not have laptop ? Why I rarely access the internet on a phone, very limiting. Actually don't know how people tolerate using phones for the internet. Text size alone is too frustrating. Add no keyboard or mouse...NO Thanks
  17. Raised one (orphan) from age 2, is that enough for you. I'd take another, but I'm 67. She graduated Uni last May, and has own business & self employed. Please ... troll elsewhere
  18. Hold on ... you're not even in Thailand ???? I was and have been addressing the topic, not the risk to myself, as not the topic. A discussion on entry policy, not me.
  19. If that's how you want to spin it ... have fun with that. Think I've stated, I've never missed a beat the whole past 2 yrs. Been out & about, where ever, when ever I wanted. Don't live in fear. Don't think I can move any more forward (whatever that means) than I am in life. Retired, and enjoy every day ... move forward to .... ???
  20. Not that I order much for delivery, but there's 4 phones between me & wife, 2 more if the kid is with us. Think we can manage. Actually, don't think I've ever ordered off their phone apps, but from my laptop. I rarely use my phones for anything but GPS & camera. And you can order for both Panda & Grab off laptop.
  21. That's why it's called an opinion. Opinion based on past quarantine, when nobody came out after 16 days still positive and able to transmit the virus. When cases & clusters were easily manageable. When something works, you might want to stick with it. That's called common sense, no need for a link. Have a nice day .........
  22. I didn't say it was, and feel free to point out where I did. I said Thai's quarantine policy before Sandbox / T&G was 16 days, and should remain 16 days in the future. 2nd part, just my opinion. Somehow, a few with minimal reading comprehension assumed otherwise.
  23. Yep ... until people stop dying in double digits every day, and the active case / clusters, are manageable. Let the virus mutate itself down to Influenza A&B level. They still make money scaring people into their yearly flu shot. Promote domestic tourism, so when the next 'pandemic of whatever hits', the businesses won't be dependent on Intern'l tourist. Which should have been their business strategy from the get go. The businesses that survived were savvy enough to figure that out. Go figure.
