Xi Did Not Shake Hands With Prayut ‘Because Of Covid Measures’
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Reported elsewhere, about that, particular moment, there were many more on stage, simply a 'photo op' and they were told and waved to exit right. Stopping to shake hands wasn't in the agenda, and to do so would have been just as rude to those waiting to get off stage as not shaking hands. Do you really think any of them wanting to be there any longer than they had to be. Get me out of here, the buffet is waiting. Anti China or Thai folks, feel free to turn it into something else. Don't believe everything you see or read. -

Franklin submersible non-stop run time limits?
KhunLA replied to unheard's topic in The Electrical Forum
Deep well & submersible ... shouldn't overheat. Why would you need to run over 1 hr straight anyway, as ours filled up 4500L tank pretty fast. -
Two contrasting days. Yesterday, forecast cloudy but no rain. Must have been some upper level pollution, thick cloud, and it did rain, quite a bit. Panels only produce 8.2kW, probably lowest since installed, and we used 9kW. Guessing 5 overnight, along with worker using a electric jack hammer a good part of the day. No ACs, didn't need, or electric cooking worth mentioning. Batteries never topping up. If not raining, I was going to send a drone up to see if some palm leaves were on the panels ???? Checking forecast last night, and today was supposed to rain from 9am to 4pm ... great. At midnight, take dog out for a sniff & pee, and I see stars ... nice. Nice sunrise and sunshine with morning coffee. By 10am the batteries are topped up. Produced 16.kW, used 11.5kW ... Beautiful day ???? Heading into night @ 98% / 19.6kW

EV Owners … Real life experience & help thread

Still get the proximity warnings when backing up ???? -
Not if her kids are in their 40s, as puts her in the 60+ age bracket. With this statement ... " I know my wife has a big mouth" Maybe mom is a bit too controlling, or tries to be, over her adult kids, and they've had enough. I know when my mother went to live with brother & their late teen kids, it turned into a conflict of too many hens in the house. Mom was always telling the kids parents to go easy on them, as grandmas tend to do, and that didn't go over well, when parents tried to instill so discipline.

Govt: Thailand to Become International Hub of Electric Vehicles
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Try to keep up, China / Asian, already has all electric subs. As does Russia, also USA, along with India, another Asian country. -
Guessing they may purchase a fleet of Mercs for themselves to use, on the tax payers baht, you know, to spare Krung Thep of any more air pollution. Or even, award themselves each one ... perk for saving the Planet. Doing what they can for a better world ... for us ????

FedEx, UPS, DHL is no guarantee either, as they lose stuff also. Especially at Xmas time when using part time temporary help. One of those krap jobs I had ???? If OP knows someone in states, could send to them, and they could forward registered USPS, then would have a receipt.
-
Instead of paying silly FedEx, UPS, DHL prices, I'd just make 5 copies of the form, and send them regular post. At least would have to make it through. Pay for them all at the same time, but only mail 1 while at post office, then drop the other 4 off, on different days. Just in case the one box/bag carrying all at 1 point, gets lost. Sh!t happens. 22 yrs on, and all mine have made it, simply regular, cheap post.

Ukraine war: Nato says Poland probably hit by Ukrainian missile
KhunLA replied to Scott's topic in World News
Kind of makes you wonder, IMHO, how many other incidents, blamed on RU, were really false flags by UA to drum up support. When billions of $$$ are involved, you really can't believe anyone IMHO -
BKK to USA, Business Class, 200lbs Extra Baggage?

May be better/cheaper to send it as freight. Even by boat, if fits your timeline, and nothing perishable. -
Amnesty Urges Thai Govt To Help Stop Bloodshed In Myanmar
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
6 whole protesters marching to UN bldg ... ???? How and what exactly is TH supposed to do ? Not buy hydro energy or natural gas from them ? I see that's working out for the rest of the world vs RU ???? The HIPOCRACY. Part of belonging to ASEAN, is to NOT interfere in another countries internal affairs, actually written in agreement. No respect for Amnesty Int'l. Turn your attention to your member's countries and the atrocities you're committing worldwide. HQ - London ... UK being one of the top 10 arms suppliers of the world. More HIPOCRACY ... supplying toys of death for profits ???? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amnesty_International#Criticism_and_controversies -
Why many bikes have no Green Book?
KhunLA replied to canerandagio's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
If copy of, possibly lost green book, or worse, doesn't match the bike. Others, simply never registered, dodgy imports (larger bikes). Cheaper to pay the fines whenever, than register, or risk confiscated if attempt to register. Huge stolen bike market. Without enforcement, easy to have with no repercussions. Get stopped, pay fine, then on your way. TRUST NOBODY ... do it all legally with both parties at proper office. -
PEA and Solar how low can you go?
KhunLA replied to MJCM's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
The new FT rates would have added quite a bit to our rental/PEA bill, as we averaged 600-700 units a month. The normal without covid discounts was quite noticeable, and that before the FT increases proposed. Also explains some of the hotel room rates I've been seeing lately, as considerably higher than before. Doubt if they're getting discounts, and of course need to pass that along to the customers. Double whammy to the tourist industry, as I read airfares are way up also. Those having the funds, are probably getting some sticker shock when planning. Next year's going to have a lot of crying about their PEA bills, when discounts are discontinued. -
PEA and Solar how low can you go?
KhunLA replied to MJCM's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Yes, FT is per unit, times your 57 units. Since less than 300 units, discount credited as shown on your bill. So your FT tax was all of ฿0.79 -
The REAL EV vehicle discussion thread.....
KhunLA replied to transam's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
All those 'specific' BS taxes, would make sense, IF, they were actually used for their specific purpose when proposed. I think we all know they simply go to the general tax fund, and then wasted with all the other taxes. Which is one thing I like about TH, the majority of tax revenue comes from 'higher' incomes & business taxes, and the VAT, which equates to those who use more of the gov't serves and have more and can afford their toys, pay a higher portion of the taxes. Actually kind of fair, and gives the poor folks a break. -
Nothing wrong or 'different' with the docs here vs say USA. They saved my life last month, having a medical oops, and quick-ish, competent action prolonged the inevitable. This at a small gov't (PKK) hospital, nurses stabilized me, then transferred to a larger gov't (Hua Hin) hospital for the life-saving procedure. I've had back surgery in the USA by excellent staff, along with not letting one doc touch me, as research showed he was unsuccessful in almost all his surgeries. There are good and bad docs / professionals in all fields. Better research if elective, better luck, if an emergency, such as mine. Private vs govt hosp, and I have to say I've had better care at govt/university hospitals, than overprice private hospitals.
