EV Owners … Real life experience & help thread
KhunLA replied to KhunLA's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I plan on doing the exact same, use the granny charger, as slower is always better on the battery. Only using 2.3kW while charging, leaves plenty for the rest of the house. Using 8kW inverter vs 5kW, but still, leaves 2kW for the house on a 5kW system. Unless running the AC and taking a hot shower or cooking with a 2000w appliance, should be enough. This is my daily run (yellow blocked), with dog to the park, and making sure surf is still there. Usually on the e-motorcycle, but took the MG yesterday, for my unusual longer surfside cruise after the park run. Couple hours of decent sunlight, and that would cover our 12 km daily run, using the MG. We charged up 29% (14.5kW) the other day, with granny charger, from 0800-1600hrs. All things being equal, 29% of 320 kms (WLTP's rating) = 92.8 kms -
Agree ... nothing in Patts I need to buy or 'rent' that I can't find here. Never needed P4P, so the Patts economy will have to continue without me ... ???? Nothing there for me to see or do, that isn't better elsewhere at points south of us, or locally.

Hot weather, heavier weight oil. I simply used 30W or 40W auto oil. Chainsaw still works fine after 11ish yrs of use.

This thread's a crack up ... does anyone expect any 'truths' to come out when politicians are involved ???? Reading 'horrific attack' ... to ... 'all calm' when police arrived. Somewhere in between there is a true story, we'll never hear about. Only thing that does seem to be true, another illegal immigrant commits a crime. Might want to close those borders.

That's just some sad A$$ craftsmanship ... ????

Cha Am – Hua Hin – Pranburi bypass road set for major upgrade
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
Coming back from Krung Thep to PKK, I usually pop into BluPort, and take 37, to avoid the congestion of HH downtown. Actually comes in just below BluPort and need to come back over the RR overpass. Even if the same amount of time, better than higher risk of an oops with so much traffic on PhetKasem rd. -
Cha Am – Hua Hin – Pranburi bypass road set for major upgrade
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
Seems like a giant waste/money grab to me. It would be nice to not have any cross traffic when on 37, but reality, it isn't much difference if going TO Hua Hin. Just Gmapped it for now, and 31 minutes if using 4 direct, with 32 & 40 minutes using alternate routes using 37, using Centara as a destination. Friday night to Sunday evening to/from are going to suck no matter what is done. On a 47 km stretch, doing 120 vs 90 isn't going to amount to much time saved. Especially if going to Hua Hin, as you'd only be on it for half the distance, IF they put exits along the way. Traveling more kms at higher speed is a be defeating. -
Mate got popped in UT, and the standard 'real' fine is 3k (2010 ?), although, 20k is needed, and requires an overnight. Next day see judge, 3k fine, 17k returned. The fine itself wasn't much of a deterrent, but his wife ???? was ????

Good, about time they started doing it after the bars closed. Remember Udon Thani, some, most nights, and the wrapped up the operation at 2200 hrs. Licenses & vehicles should be confiscated for 1 year on conviction. Caught 2nd time. lose license & vehicle, permanently.

Did you buy from Xiaomi, as it was only 6500 baht when released May 2020, and that was the 128GB one. Only 5000 baht for the 64GB version. https://www.siamphone.com/spec/redmi/note_9.htm -
Pricing for all ... ... thrifty shoppers, will always find bargains ... ignorant shoppers, usually the crybabies ... people with too much baht, they just don't care What's expensive, relative to ? Pattaya, Krung Thep, some metros, one place having it all. Ease of living for a fair price. Location location location Where I am, more 'rural', though can be close to all that's 'needed', except P4P, IF needed. Any more rural, just a few minutes inland, and you'll need transport, and with or without, would bore the hell out of most people needing to be entertained. No condos, so rent only, and a good thing, as doubt most would stay long, thankfully. So cheap to build or rent, BUT, owning a car is usually one's largest expense, whether buy in, financing + operating cost. Patts or a metro, and you can eliminate that expense. I myself couldn't live in Patts, as if I saw 10 farangs in one day, I'd be in a state of depression and desperate to move ????

If it's not a torrent, I don't, can't watch it. Have bunch of music DVDs, but no player since laptops usually don't have. Irrelevant, as haven't seen anything I'd pay 50 baht to watch. If not a torrent, don't think I'd miss anything. All seems to be time killers anyway.

That's one opinion, though I disagree. China first for me, quality & price. Korea & Japan, no particular order, quality, but price, maybe. Last 2 cars, MGs, & E-MB, eBike (Schwinn bike & conv. kit) Phones, Xiaomi Other Xiaomi products; drone, air purifiers, power banks, headphones China; all RC toys, drones, cars, planes, most cams. Thai or China, Sony camera gear, kitchen appliances Korea, ASUS laptops, TVs, maybe action cam Japan, maybe a camera lens or a camera body, maybe USA ... 1 overpriced cast iron skillet (Lodge). krap ele. razor UK/EU ... nothing

Australian big bike rider crashes into power pole in Chonburi and dies
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
If everyone drove the speed limit, very few would die on the roads. Guessing, too fast for conditions is the #1 reason of 99% of all accidents. Wear a helmet, and I think most will survive a 0-60 kph accident. I hit a house going much faster, knocked me out, but I did walk away after I came to. Helmet saved me that day. If a small soi, speed limit was probably 30 kph, and seems only 1 driver was doing that, and survived. -

Saw a 2 for 1 sale today ... for the new 'Red Alert' Buy 1 Hardhat, get 1 Covid mask for free ... Qs are starting for form already ???? -
Fan of both. If given a choice, "Made in Chinese" or made elsewhere, I'll take Chinese first. Our solar system and most of our electronics comes to mind. Oh wait, is anything made 'elsewhere' ? ????

Sometimes 'you get what you pay for' ... ... try spending more than ฿100 for an item, and it may last longer.

Yes, but really don't think it's necessary. Just a 2 stage, carbon & ceramic filters.

Why is weight loss so hard and permanent weight loss even harder?
KhunLA replied to LukeVh's topic in I'm Too Fat Forum
Intermittent fasting (NOT fasting), is the only thing that has worked for me, and fairly effort free, and eat whatever I please, in moderation. Common sense rules, and that intermittent fasting. For me, it's about 12-15 hrs daily, and half of that overnight while sleeping. Too Easy. -
Probably this day, 18Aug, most generated, 49ish, used 30ish, sent 19ish to grid, on partly sunny day. Looking back over the graphs, peek at 9 (?), or just shy of. Though would think, should only peek at 8ish, since 8kW inverter. Have 18 X .540 panels = 9.72 @ 80% = 7.76 Since can't export, it will only show generated what's needed. Below graph is yesterday, charging ESSs & EV, so about the max to expect also, but also an air pollution day, so not clear skies. Post above yours shows the production/consumption #s.
