  1. Good for them, since I use BB. More profits they make, better for me, especially if makes my cost cheaper or fee free to use ???? World is still buying RU oil & gas, so why should anyone tell someone else not to trade with RU. It's a RU & UKr conflict, has nothing to do with Thailand. That spat is between them, not with Thailand. If everyone doesn't stop trading with RU, why should anyone stop.
  2. Don't think anyone buying a Tesla in Thailand is going to be concerned about the cost of replacing some battery modules if needed, after 300-500k miles of driving. 2019 (3 yr old tech) report: https://electrek.co/2019/10/21/tesla-model-3-100000-miles/ "He said that he now gets a max range of 302-308 miles, which is about a 2.5% loss on his original 310 miles of rated range when he bought the vehicle."
  3. Yea ... families do come to Thailand to enjoy themselves. But as your friends highlight, families don't really go to Pattaya, if doing any research. Patts is geared toward sexpats & sex tourist which is fine, keeps them away from where I live. Bkk weekenders, simply because it's close and Hua Hin is another hour of driving away. Though many pop into Bang Saen instead of patts.
  4. Where do y'all come up with these silly prices ... ????
  5. Maybe you should re-read my original reply, with your comment highlighted, to help you understand my reply. I'm not confused at all.
  6. Don't think so, actually less than half per capita: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate
  7. "One item on the 8 item checklist, called for decisive action against places of prostitution if they break the law." Did they not get the memo: https://www.chiangraitimes.com/tourism/pattaya-police-chief-says-there-is-no-such-thing-as-prostitution-in-pattaya/
  8. Those wet t-shirts will tempt one into eternal damnation ????
  9. Yes, was there a while back, as we'll be getting a bed frame from one of the vendors. They're open 7 days a week, 1st link. About 14 kms off the main road, Phetkasem / hwy 4, just follow signs for Dan Singkhon. I'll be out that way myself, next month, for 90 day pulse check, if not sooner, hopefully, depending when our house build is done.
  10. Higher end pieces here, right hand side, in back, NE corner Location: http://tiny.cc/8ndquz More pieces toward the border, down the hill, and on the left, at the market: http://tiny.cc/qndquz
  11. I don't know why they bother ... my ignore list gets longer & longer with every conversation ????
  12. I'll start worrying about the panels when I'm 92 yrs old.... .... picture worth 1000 words ... nuff said
  13. Or the price of EVs ... ???? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt." — Abraham Lincoln
  14. Chickies use to go topless here, and not that long ago, until the Christians arrive .... basstard.
  15. Be careful of anything (lined) made from steel, as it can't take the temps. I had a lovely bbq in Udon Thani, from Yank making / selling ... until it wasn't, and the insides basically disintegrated when cleaning one day. Actually used it for pizzas, baking & everything, since no proper oven at the time, only having a top element air fryer, for smaller meals, before they were a fad ???? He used 302 or 304 SS and it was c r a p, after a year or 2 of weekly use.
  16. Don't need to go that far for nudist / naturalist, as coworker / neighbor, use to have nude BBQs. Only pointed out to me, some people should wear clothes. ????
  17. You don't need to be rich, to spend ฿761k on a car, as so many spend that and more on ICEs, or ฿37k for a motorcycle, and actually cheaper than most popular ICE models sold. I've yet to read, hear 1 valid argument against owning an EV. Motorcycles have removable batteries, so no charging port at apartment / condo complex doesn't even float. Plenty of price points for scooters & cars between ฿37k & ฿761k. ฿400k & ฿500k ... 170 km range
  18. As already stated, if you can't find, you're not looking. 4 MG Accor chain hotels have them Malls have them
  19. Try to stay focused ... I'll pass, too mature for that contest.
  20. No ... the Americas; USA, Caribbean Isles, Mexico EU-Amsterdam / Copenhagen (cities) Would have hated to limited myself to one small a$$ country for 50 yrs. Bored crazy sometimes after only being here 20some years. Maybe if from some where's even smaller (UK) Thailand might hold interest longer. Then there's those that have only been to Krung Thep (Nana/KSR), Patts or Phuket ... that's sad.
  21. Lasted all of 1 day, as the chill is gone, and sun blazing again. Heading to mid 30sC again today.
  22. Few thoughts for the EV naysayers: Links are older, so surely so more intuitive ideas since. Though these are practical & easy. I saw one photo in a news-blip, they had stacks of used EV battery packs, being charged by solar, at a EV charging station. Thought that was damn ingenious. https://www.solarpowerworldonline.com/2017/02/giving-electric-vehicle-batteries-second-life-solar-projects/ "The group ultimately found that used EV batteries purchased at 80 percent of their original capacity will deliver marginally better revenues for the solar plant than a similar bank of new batteries. And if the solar farm can buy those batteries at 60 percent of original retail price, the farm can potentially even return a profit—all other factors being equal. Mathews said EVs are still coming online in small enough numbers that their used battery packs haven’t yet become a big or noticeable force to reckon with. But he expects in a few years’ time, that will probably change. Used EV batteries could become so widely available that they’d be valuable for any number of energy storage applications." https://spectrum.ieee.org/used-ev-batteries-could-power-tomorrows-solar-farms#toggle-gdpr "The first batches of batteries from electric and hybrid vehicles are hitting retirement age, yet they aren’t bound for landfills. Instead, they’ll spend their golden years chilling beer at 7-Elevens in Japan, powering car-charging stations in California and storing energy for homes and grids in Europe." https://www.powervault.co.uk/article/where-3-million-electric-vehicle-batteries-will-go-when-they-retire/
  23. I would think the only place possibly needing a recent test may be at the pier, though still doubtful. Not like going to Samui or Phuket, as not sure if they even still require a test if vax'd or unvax'd. Check on the ferry service site, if having one.
  24. Same option was offered to me & GF before getting married, 1st Thai wife. Turned down for tourist visa (USA), since no major assets here, but then told to go across the street, and apply for fiancee visa, and should be not prob ... ????
  25. Don't know about 'longer' as may have simply been in the military, did 18 months, and didn't return till after 2000 for all anyone knows. I was way too busy hanging out in other countries before coming here. They were and are still better than Thailand, then & now.
