  1. Didn't read previous post ... but ... Renewing my USA PP in TH was one of the easiest things I've ever done. Simply go to the website, and follow the 'hold your hand' instructions. It doesn't get any easier. Have done twice already online.
  2. Elon is working on it ... For 1st world countries anyway ... might be a while for TH. Wouldn't hold my breath waiting.
  3. Actually Latin, as most of Spanish is derived from Latin. Having studied and been fluent in both. Leaning Latin first made Spanish a breeze to learn. Begs to ask, why did I not go South to retire ...
  4. Simply ignore the news/distractions/divisive tactics of MSM. Rely on my knowledge, reality/life experiences, up bringing, verified facts I learned & know, and just a wee bit of common sense to see through all the BS. Don't need to concentrate on keeping your 'focus' if you never lost it.
  5. You got something against Tonto ... Hint: Johnny Depp playing a fictitious movie character Aside from that, you are forgetting you are on the 'Commonwealth' forum. Anything & everything, not part of the commonwealth countries is always a negative. Especially; USA, RU, CH & TH of course
  6. I think before people vote, a list of candidates who have not done any of the listed 'infractions' should be available to the voters. List would probably look something like this ... Honest, law abiding candidates to vote for: 1. ... End of list

    Bangkok vacation

Guess it really depends why one travels internationally for vacation. Myself, to explore what's there that is not in my home country. Thai/Asian food, diverse landscape, cultural difference For me it would be a waste of time & money to have the vacation revolve around what I can have & experience in home country. Living here is a bit different, though certainly don't need to go out for home country fare, as can do in house. Though nice to just get out of. Does seem most of the vocal members travel for a different location, just to eat Brit/Indian food, cheaper beer & sex. Hence the popularity of Patts, Patong/Bangla, Nana, Soi Cowboy, Silom Sor 4.
  8. With only 5-11% by population by countries where same sex isn't illegal, it would be nice to know where there are more, rather than less like minded people. Just as being the Grand Wizard in the local chapter, I wouldn't be wearing my hood to brekkie in these towns: If you plan on having a social life, get your freak on & enjoy the city life: Dallas is and isn't a surprise. Who would have thought, first gay club I ever went to, freakin' awesome place also, would be in Texas, and in 1975 ... go figure. Same state I got a reality check on racism is still alive, hard core racism. Car broke down in a 1 intersection tumbleweed town, where an Eldorado w/horns on the hood drove back & forth all day. No BS. At cafe having brekkie, and dude giving the floor a quick mop ... "yo what up, how ya doing ?" looks around cautiously .... "Y'all ain't from around here ?" "How you know ?" "Y'all talking to me" 😲 Yea ... he was black ... W T F Or chill in suburbia ... chart sources - wiki 5-11% per pop ... another thread on AN
  9. With these numbers, I'm surprised it's only 1/3, when half+ of the religious folks are against the alphabet folks ... No real surprises on the list below: The list of countries that criminalize homosexuality
  10. They've been predicting nuclear war for as long as I can remember. Over 60+ years, back in the day when everyone wanted a bomb shelter/cellar All they did was add more silly scenarios. 1973 we were running out of oil/gas, when the refineries in Philly, PA were full up, but simply simply not delivering to stations. Of course, shortages of everything else on the shelves, with silly price increases. Along with all the other human existence ending BS ... Now it's pandemics, GW, CC/MMCC. Every bug and CC influencing shortages & rise in prices everywhere. Sheeple believe anything they're told ... kind of embarrassing really
  11. We wouldn't buy any pre-built house, as prices have been silly. We simply contracted the builder, to build on our land. In our 3rd house. At least 1/2 the price per m², and as good or better materials. One builder in Udon Thani didn't even earth the electric ing the house, or use 3 prong plugs. Said they didn't have to, since they bought the land before it was mandatory buy law/ordinance Had to pay extra for earthing, and these were ฿7-10M houses & up Most used cinder & red block, no insulation ... just crap IMHO Not saying our builds were perfect, and needed tweaks along the way, and afterwards. But far better than what was on offer that we saw.
  12. The 2.8L Fortuner cost more than 2X the EP though.
  13. That's also 8 years old One for sale, also 2.8L listings of ฿550k & up
  14. Had a few near us, off shore, but 2006. Other two, minor and too far away to even notice.
  15. Yes, some of these quotes are silly, and you need to shop around. We got 3 quotes; ฿12k & ฿22k baht, and what we have ฿9,930 Comparing low tech imports from JP, with higher tech EV from CH. Apple & orange comparisons, along with more depreciation on the ICEV. Our experience anyway. MG ZS EV covered for ฿840k, while new ZS now cost ฿829k on sale. That Mazda 3 gets totaled, do you get new car ... NO Not our fault people paid too much for their high cost maintenance & operating ICEV. All about the same coverage.
  16. Plenty of places to rent for <$800 a month. Not everyone wants to live in the expensive metro or beach areas.
  17. That's a wee bit more than some
  18. 300 units shouldn't be over 1400 baht. https://eservice.pea.co.th/EstimateBill/
  19. To add to that ... our overnight, non producing hours are from about 1800 - 0800 hrs, so 14 hrs +/- of no solar production. We do not have any East facing panels, or it would be producing earlier. Our panels are due S & W. I estimated the system size based on old house bills, and they topped out about 1000kWh a month. Our best days of production/usage are about 50kwh, so we in that 50% extra range. That's really being abusive with AC usage. New (present) house build had more thought to better construction, shading & insulation. Along with quality inverter ACs, and really makes a difference. Which worked out perfect for us. As we decided to get EVs, as an after thought. Our system is 8kW inverter. Panels will produce 9.7kW (if 100%), Inverter will accept 8.8kWh, and put out 8kW. More than enough for us. 50kWh on those hot sunny days, while abusing our AC use. Also, just as important, enough for us, on those really crappy, overcast, rainy days, and barely producing enough to recharge the ESS / batteries back to 100%, before nightfall. Usually ESS topped up between 1000-1200 hrs. On crap days, might take to just prior to 1800 hrs. Hindsight, after <2 yrs of having solar, two 5kWh inverters would have been better, providing a bit more juice (though haven't needed) but more so, giving redundancy, in case one inverter crapped out. If ours does have an oops, we are still conx to the grid, JIC, and only cost 26 baht a month, if no usage.
  20. I think ours is 5 yrs free roadside assistance. Purchased 2022, then in 2023, I think they changed it to 4 yrs, then back to 5 yrs in 2024.
  21. Or ... you could simply look at your monthly electric bill, (if in TH), as has a 6 month history of usage on it. If needing more data, year's worth, the surely they have on record ... simply ask. Simply pick your highest monthly usage, (ours: March/April) increase it by 50%, and base the system on that. Can't go wrong estimating more than needed.
  22. I gave up after about 45 mins, actually fell asleep. Rewound to were I dozed off, gave it 5 mins, then fast forwarded, peek if any interesting. Then deleted it. Lopez & AI buddy routine wasn't working for me, add it's mostly CGI, and not that good, didn't leave much of interest.

    Bangkok vacation

I would not book more than 1 week in Bangkok, actually less, first 3 nights. Going to Hua Hin, hotels jack their rates up, some considerably on the weekend. so if wanting to save a few baht, better to be there during weekdays.
