There go, as usual, misunderstanding what it state, or applying it as you see fit. Never said EV won't have problems, just that I don't expect any with mine, that I need to be concerned about. At the 8 yr mark, if it craps out, out of warranty, I'll just buy a new. Never owned any car for 8 yrs anyway. Saw one the other day that looked really nice, and right up my alley ... JAECOO 6, and only ฿1.1M Grumpy ol' dinosaurs not being current doesn't only apply to vehicles, but across the board. ... if another person tells me cooking with seed oils is unhealthy 🙄 ... or vax s were 'safe & effective' ... BEVs are crap & waste of money ... solar will never give me a ROI ... intermittent fasting doesn't work ... should eat low fat, high carb diet ... it's made in CN so it's crap ... my LFP battery BEV supports child labor in the Congo ... I'm supporting child labor by owning a BEV, but they aren't with all the batteries they use ... the list is endless, before we get to the topics about TH. The new or old part timer or lifers never leaving BKK or Patts going to tell me about the rest of the country or Thai people, that they didn't pay to be with. ... love it when people tell me, no way can I do, what I've already done ... nuff said On topic ... my ZS will not blow up when I hit a speed bump, or spontaneously erupt into fire if it gets wet.

Lazy Piece of Sh!t Bang my knuckles or get all greasy working on a vehicle ... oh Hell No

Yes, I know. As they are too busy being in debt, buying crap they don't need to impress their fake friends that don't care. Or having kids before they can afford them. Their priorities in life are A$$ backwards. To bad 'economics 101' isn't taught in school or at home, instead of pronouns & imaginary genders now. Imagine if people learned to stop borrowing money to buy depreciating toys, and instead learned how to build equity or work for themselves, rather than trained to become a 'working class hero'. I think you need to unplug from MSM .... "creating environmental disasters" ... I guess I better stop faring

I won't have to concern myself with that for about 6 years, as battery is under warranty for 8 years, and 2 down. Life expectancy being 20 or 40 yrs, depending what propaganda you read. Doubtful the motors will have any issue, or the battery for that matter, within mine or the wife's lifetime. The rest of the car, if needing something, yes, the dealer would be doing the work, as stated enough times, I'm a LPOS. Don't have the tools to do anything anyway. Only played mechanic on vehicles in the past, because I was too poor to pay a mechanic to do. Not a problem now, or been the last 40 yrs, as could afford newer cars that didn't break down. Can't remember last time I had to fix something. Maybe a water pump on my Maxima, means 1994 maybe. Remember swapping that out before it crapped out. Prior to that, might have been 40 years since I actually worked on a car, besides basic tune up.

Oh crap ... you're back, and memory sharp as ever ... ... I never owned a MGB, thankfully not that stupid ... that was my brother, and never had a problem keeping it running. ... problem was the amount of money & time to keep it running ... I buy new, and being a LPOS, I even took the ICEV to the dealer to change the oil. Not that I couldn't replace the whole drivetrain in a day, if parts where available and ready for a swap out. I've done all in days past; engine, trans, drive shaft/U-joints (sadly the hardiest (shimming) & rears. Not all at once in the past, but have done all, at least once. Now move along, one who doesn't even own a vehicle

If needing info for our MG, I'd simply go to MG or one of the MG forums. From my experience with FB Groups (drones & photography), I didn't take very long to go from the dumbest person in the room, to the smartest. Not much different from AN, when thinking about it. Old grumpy members stuck in the past, knowledge & tech wise, and think they are current, when in reality, they're dinosaurs. Wasn't it a FB group that we found the info about the 2019 MG ZS having a battery moisture issue, along with the fix, and also that the new 2022 ZS now being IP67 ?

I would think the opposite, as I only started using FB as an expat, for convenient way to keep in contact with family & friends.

Can you recommend me a cheap car insurance ?
KhunLA replied to steph83's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
We found Roojai to be the cheapest. Also provided excellent service when having an oops. No argument about where the work to be done (MG dealer) or any aspect of it not being covered. Or parts MG techs recommended. Every ins co. & broker of ins (even our cousin) wanted 20k+, and Roojai was 13.4k, renewal, without any no claim discount, since having an oops previous year. This for MG ZS EV, which insurance for EVs are silly priced, now. The first year of coverage on the BEV, that we paid, was the same as the last year of coverage we paid on the same car, 2 yrs prior, but the ICE version (both MG ZSs). So much for any pricing logic. -
Building a boundary wall cost in 2025
KhunLA replied to kwak250's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
If you're more in an urban area, take a ride to a bit more rural area, and cruise around see if anything being built. Have the wife/GF ask about price, before you (out of sight) take a peek at the work. Should have a nice large block and or concrete base w/steel, and same for columns and top beam w/steel. Doesn't have to be the thickest rebar around, since not supporting any weight, and it's not going to fall down in 40 kph wind. We don't get major or even feel minor earthquakes here. If they'll be doing the painting, usually will, pay extra, so they don't add ANY water to the primer/sealer or paint. AND ... make sure they don't 😎 -
I assumed biden used an executive order for the ban, but, pointed out he did not. Which exposes the 'deep state' once again, as I don't believe any thinks biden can remember where he was when he ate his last breakfast, let alone, remembering and enacted a decades old law. Win win for Trump & myself, as when oil & gas companies use it to raise prices, which will raise inflation, Trump gets to blame biden & the dems, and I get a higher COLA

Just symbolic gesture. Most nobody cares about, and hopefully, in the future, the world won't be so dependent of fossil fuels (oil & gas) anyway ... ... "Most of the newly-protected territory is not particularly appealing to the oil industry, at least right now. That's led some to dismiss this move as merely symbolic." ... More just exposing the 'deep state', and not good for them. Which in the minds of most folks, will equate to getting screwed again, and think future high gas prices. Which when happens, President Trump gets to blame it Biden & the dems ... win for Trump. Which of course, the oil companies will use as an excuse to raise prices If people weren't such idiots, they'd have Solar Systems & BEVs. https://www.npr.org/2025/01/06/nx-s1-5249765/biden-offshore-drilling-ban

It is a Gulf located in N. America, that borders 3 countries Don't think anyone cares what it's called, as think most locals simply call it 'the Gulf'.

Building a boundary wall cost in 2025
KhunLA replied to kwak250's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
We're not in HH, but 100 kms south of, and I wouldn't expect to pay more than ฿2k per meter, ฿3k max, and only 4 (?) yrs since we had ours built. That was, 2m high & 60 meters @ 80k = ฿1334 per and high price at the time. -

2 meters high, 1 linear meter, and I'd expect to pay ฿1500-฿2000 per, sealed & painted. Not including a gate or entry doorway. Anything more than ฿440k is a silly rip off price. IMHO & experience. Wall at 1st house is 23 yrs old, still standing. 2nd house, 14 yrs old, still standing. -

Thaksin Under Fire: Racist Remarks in Chiang Rai Spark Outrage
KhunLA replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I have no boundaries to free speech, expression of 'opinions'. @FritsSikkink TH & USA, the 2 that I referenced are NOT on the list of tyrannical, freedom restricting countries in your link. So you've shown me NO facts, that I requested for enlightenment. Simply verifying my facts, that free speech exists in TH. If you banned bigotry speech ... AN wouldn't exist -
The Deep State, biden's puppeteers have completely lost it. Pardons, and now this, drilling ban. With the swipe of the pen, Trump will void the ban. They are just alienated themselves even more from the public. Exposing themselves to the reality of their total control that they've exerted over politicians. They really do think everyone is a moron ... UP THE REVOLUTION ...

That does make sense. Though Mexico still has the most dominant coastline, in length. About 100 kms more than USA, and Cuba having <400 kms of coastline with the Gulf.

Early morning / Twilight hours boredom
KhunLA replied to themechanic's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Yes, something about waking up before and seeing the sun rise, just makes for a better day. Rare that I don't naturally wake up for, without an alarm clock, and I rarely go to sleep before midnight. -

Thaksin Under Fire: Racist Remarks in Chiang Rai Spark Outrage
KhunLA replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
That many consider it racist, and many don't agree with what he stated, including myself, knowing more than a few fine looking mamas, certainly does not mean he doesn't have the right to state his opinion.
