So, some bored members have wasted 3 pages of comments predicting Thai Logic. Why? Those who that have been consistently successful are not Known by Name. What is Known is Revenue Department follows info and orders available on the website. They have a number and date like order 161 2023 or order 162 2023. This is helpful, useful, verifiable info to share. The Double Tax Treaty is usually in digital PDF Form. There are Page Numbers for documents which are sometimes different than the PDF page number so provide Both. The section and paragraph and "Quote the Tax Agreement", then your supporting interpretation. STOP, WASTING the limit time we have left posting info, comments, beliefs that have little value and are Not helpful to many others. DEBATE Out of the comments section, DIRECTLY with someone you want to discuss your opinions or beliefs that have No BENEFIT to others who read to be educated, informed, prepared and seek guidance and help.

Legally could tax you but you pay 0% on first I think 210,000 baht. 150,000 is 0% tax + 60,000 one individual personal exemption, Amount paid up to 25,000 baht to Thai Insurance Company. Tax is on Foreign Accessible Income remitted to Thailand that was earned/newly Accessible in 2024 Are you bringing in Accessible income available prior to 2024. Thailand Revenue Department Order No. Por 162 "The provisions of paragraph one shall not apply to assessable income arising before the date 1 January 2024" Your Welcome, Enjoy your stay, Thailand is still "Open for All"

Sometimes good. But one thing I like about Thai culture is they do Not openly give their unwanted opinion which criticizes or is hurtful
-
And like all our posts and conversations. We have limited power, not enough to make changes without a mass support. I would rather have limits on what I can criticize and more power to change governments processes and spending so its fair and balanced for citizens and businesses. Not have Super pacts impact on getting their way

Fully support comments that Media plays key role in being strongly biased, sometimes giving No time to an opposing view. People are in some ways a product of the environment we live, grow up and work in. USA is a litigious society where we expect uniform, consistent, and unfair punishment for offenses. Example, The fine, for a wealthy person should be a percentage of yearly income to be fair. USA psychology and behavior is concerningly flawed. Zero Tolerance policy (So we give up on people). Almost No workers rights. (Lack of job security or notice of job dismissal lacking.) USA business psychology (Every business should enrich the owner, workers, and profit this is disproportionate compared to other countries) compared to other countries US top level management is paid excessive amounts and then make workers fight for a small percentage raise or benefit contribution by company. Back on Topic: It is challenging moving to Thailand. The resources, processes, requirements, need to physically go to Bank, Immigration, etc. and lack of information, and consistently in paperwork and requirements can change Without proper Notice. This frustrates us Americans. Thai's are well know for Not providing all the information or documents for completing a task in one visit. Americans seem offended when they have to do 90 day reports, have to provide financial info every year, seem unfairly targeted when Police checkpoints fine foreigners for no license or helmet. If like most who have lived here a couple of years and comply with the requirements and procedures, Life is Good. Harmony is found You have control and choose to be happy, sad, or focused with just getting through a process you do not enjoy.

15 million people to receive cash instead of digital wallet payments
J Branche replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If the digital wallet is approved I don't see anyone being paid until around summer next year The potential boost in taxes from Foreign accessible income will need to be collected. -
Agreed that Fast Track on International arrival is not posted well. Or some employees are not informed of who may use. Mid April 2024 arrived, looked for signs and attempted to enter around 3. Told to walk down, then told to walk back, half way Official opened entry for my Retirement Visa entry. Around 10am no queue. If anyone has photos or detailed description of fast track entry lanes for Long Stay visa holders it would be helpful.

Foreign man caught standing naked in cannabis shop in Phuket
J Branche replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Flawed logic, further education needed. Man in Marijuana shop strips naked and displays his privates. Thai, or any foreign nationality I would ask Does person have Mental health problems? Is the problem induced temporarily by a substance he consumed? Is the person performing for content on YouTube or social media. Is the person amorous? Still Amazes me that some still don't possess a basic understanding of psychology or behavioral psychology -
Teenager Stabs Foreign Man in Road Rage Incident Near Pattaya
J Branche replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
Polish man doesn't understand Thai customs, traditions, behavior or psychology Heated Argument with teenager speaks volumes. Why escalate a situation Tell them your sorry , you are still learning and will do better next time. Just watched Thai drivers license video. Most of it was drive slower, more careful, be kind, courteous and only short beeps of horn when necessary. Watch for the unexpected. -
Off-duty Thai cop hit by truck while aiding accident victims in Isaan
J Branche replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Just watched the DLT drivers license video. Many times the video showed the results of speeding, drunk, and tired driving. These were top 5 contributors to accidents. RIP, your service and dedication is appreciated. I am still learning Thai logic. I am unsure if the officer could have done anything different. Maybe put the car or motorbike with signals on behind the cones as a barrier. But I'm still learning and not an expert -
I wish I knew how different Health Insurance is vs. USA. The Hospitals generally Require payment at discharge. PC has 15 days to pay but can extend past month for certain issues. My insurance Pre-existing conditions Not covered. You may have to get the bill, all test results, and doctors diagnosis, Then send all documents to Insurance. A lot of items you buy have No Warranty and are Not easily returned. Language, order and some words are common similar meaning words do not always translate effectively

Thailand Urged To Expand Tax Cuts for Rooftop Solar Panels
J Branche replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
My Opinion, most Solar will be installed by Middle Class. A cost analysis needs to be done comparing usage, cost of Solar (roof tiles may need replacing, batteries/storage, all inverters, controllers, mounting hardware, cables). For foreigners the ROI from an S&P Index fund may be better choice. Lastly most Non-AC, Fan Only homes generally are easier to upgrade with LED, Newer TV, efficient Washer, efficient Refrigerator. The place I know the 8 people consume less than 1500 baht a month. -

Aspect, Aspirin 81 by Pantip, B-Aspirin 81 From Pantip website sizes of 60-325 mg are special controlled drugs that require a prescription. So Pattaya has no good mass transit system for travel while in the city. The city is better suited for motorbikes but there are to many cars on holidays and long weekends. The roads are congested due to endless roadwork, to many cars, Zero Traffic Police directing traffic in congested areas. To many food carts, double parked delivery trucks, Indian people walking in the road.

Thai people are generally honest as am I. The store would have incurred a loss. Maybe employee is forced to pay for it as my girlfriend and some of her family members were made to pay for losses they caused to the business. So you take it, employee has money taken from them. Employee struggles to pay bills why you eat steak. Maybe employee has child so you take food away from someone's family. Maybe they can't afford to send their child to school this semester. I don't know about you but I am here to help people not hurt them.

Homelessness Remains Pressing Concern for Pattaya
J Branche replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Old Win Taxi man has been homeless for a couple months in Pratamnak. Not enough customers. Daughter came and took him to Nahkon Ratchasima but after 4 days he was bored and came back. -
Delays loom for Thai-Chinese high-speed railway project
J Branche replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I've watched the progress around the Pak Chong area and to me it appears it would be at least 5 years away unless they get more workers. -
Can only speak when BMW slightly hit me when I was turning. Traffic Police and Insurance Adjuster are the only people who can assign fault. If an agreement is not reached at the accident scene you can meet at the local Police Station to resolve the issue. Stay Calm, Stay Polite and be prepared for the Thai to lie. My case called Insurance adjuster, he agreed BMW driver was at fault. We both apologized, and left. Side note he called a Police Friend who grabbed my arm firmly and I informed him the Tourist Police and my Thai Girlfriend would arrive any minute and I know how these things work. Police said he was tired and going to get some sleep.

Recommendations. Central It is in beach side food court in the middle on row running along back wall. Thai sign translates to Aunt Toi Rakhata "ป้าทอย ราชตะ" Old Grey haired lady. In Terminal 21 near the drinks station far back right corner they make a good Pad Thai, a couple places to right the stewed pork leg and noodles is delicious. Enjoy
-
Why not go to the Central or Terminal 21 Food Court. You can get some good Thai food at good prices. Once your finished probably be the same as buffet but fresh cooked.

Pattaya police crack down on noisy Kuwaiti motorcyclists - video
J Branche replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
To speak on Police action.Thai's believe in living in Harmony highly. If the issue happened a couple of times and was within the boundaries of what is socially acceptable in that area we probably would not be reading about it, No Police Necessary. Additionally Thai's value showing Respect highly. -
I wish I understood how Thais behave and do business. How to address and solve issues. Knowing stay calm, respectful and willing to work through the problem the best you can. Thais sometimes do not provide enough info or details for you to complete a task all at once. There is a general process for administration which has flexibility for business, more paperwork than back home, and more steps to complete. Thai style, learn it, live it, and you will thrive.

Tuk tuk drivers’ street fight goes viral, sparking outrage (video)
J Branche replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Good Luck with that. The Taxis will block the Robotaxi. They will go to government and hold many meetings. If the government doesn't respect how Robotaxis will cause more unemployment they will probably start blocking roads. Maybe even start messing with the taxis, like deflating tires.
