How do you react to Thais who do not respond to greetings?
Wow, there are two mistakes right there. 1 ) Retiring early. 2 ) Calling Pattaya paradise. All pre-existing forum credibility shot all to buggery over a pointless Thai cultural cock wave with a fellow member.

Former Cambodian PM Hun Sen to visit Thaksin tomorrow
Nothing to see here. Hun Sen is simply dropping by to collect on that loan before Thaksin carks it.

Ah, so that was you, eh? Good point though, and chances are if you do hear some prolonged 'horning' going on, it's undoubtedly a foreigner (like the German chap trying to park out front of a Soi Buakhao gogo bar). Dumbkopf.

US consulate interview for tourist visa
The UK uses a third party called VFS for their visa application screening, not a formal interview per-se and not done by actual embassy or consular staff. The first time, when the VFS office was down Rajdamri, my wife described it as 'intimidating' but that was her first application. The next two were at their Sukhumvit location and more of a box-check of provided documents. There was a debate at that time about how different VFS staff were deciding that some documents were not needed and handing them back. Some failed applicant's partners suggested that having important supporting documents 'screened out' by poorly trained VFS staff was the cause of their rejection. I told my wife that if a VFS interviewer decides to take something out, she has no right to do that and insist that ALL submitted paperwork be included. She didn't have to do this. All approved and made several trips over the years.

Unruly British man goes berserk on Bangkok-London flight (video)
As I said earlier... Let the BRITS sort out the BRITS and have maybe 170 OTHER PASSENGERS travel WITHOUT DISRUPTION Not shouting, just stating the bleeding obvious.

Good point and I'm not offering excuses here, but the staff at the branch is a 'swanky mall' probably get more than their fair share of rude, all-knowing foreigners who think that the way banks work back home is universal and get all shouty and obnoxious when set right about banking here. The rural branches just see the nice, quiet, all-knowing-but-more-discrete-about-it foreign customer.

US consulate interview for tourist visa
that is an excellent idea Yes, that's what I provided as supporting documentation for my Thai wife's successful UK visit visa application. It also mentioned my being based in Thailand and working regionally as a reason why she's coming back to Thailand (with me and my wallet). Just to note though that she should have a very good idea of the details in that letter as ultimately, you won't be party to the interview, and she may be asked to confirm things stated in the letter. Wrong time for a 'deer in the headlights' moment when unable to answer something like, where will you stay (if a hotel booking) or where do his parents live (if staying with them). Easy.

Cheapest U.S. SIM card for OTP overseas
Mintmobile. I signed up for an eSIM online while in Thailand last December, just before the New Year. 3-month, 5Gb plan that gave me another 3 months free. Cost US$45+tax. There's already a thread in this forum where I explained how to do it and activate it from overseas.

Second Bank Account.
Ultimately, it will depend on which of the three village banks will allow the OP to open an account. Best to start by dropping by, asking if it's possible and actually eliminating the "cannot" banks first.

Labour Victories at Bi-Elctions
Sorry bob, i wasn't suggesting you were wiff-waffing and I fundamentally agree with all you say and how it's Hobson's Choice for the beleaguered British voter. The wiff-waff comment was about Sunak's reactions, underlining the fact we all know that he, his party and politicians on either side don't have a bloody clue any more. Regardless of where they come from, their exposure to 'Westminster life' has collectively addled their brains.

Labour Victories at Bi-Elctions
And it's that sort of wiff-waff that encourages the likes of Sunak to say stuff like 'the mid-terms are always bad for the incumbent' and 'there's no enthusiasm for labour' Hey Rishi, these are the 'end of terms' and there's even less enthusiasm for your clique where over 40% of your present parliamentarians have already said they're not up for the fight and won't be standing for re-election EVER again. Quitters!

Labour Victories at Bi-Elctions
Reform will split the traditional vote, that's all they will do and that's all they want to do. They won't win a seat. Since they have no notion of rule, policy or manifesto, that's probably a good thing So they will dilute the Tory vote whereupon they will be cast into the wilderness, where they belong. Buh-bye. Meanwhile, they will also dilute the Labour majority in parliament so that they will be hamstrung on doing any of the more radical changes their loony-left want. They may also need to conjure up some 'coalitions' with the sleazy and obsequious in order to perform the fundamentals of government. That 'bout right Theresa? In the meantime, the 10-20% of the electorate who do vote Reform will be patting themselves on the back for at least a year or until the first climate-change induced flood or famine or pestilence. Then, when they realize that even under a different government, their quality of life, their savings and their futures, just like the old people, are still being flushed down the toilet, they'll still be whining with "Help! My is my life still sh_t?! Why?..." Why? Because that's what happens to taxpayers.

If you pay attention when you "watch the cabin staff they close the door and pull a manual handle to secure it but not 'lock' it", this procedure is accompanied by the general PA announcement for "cabin crew arm the doors and cross-check". Once that is done, everything is in place to prevent "an idiot from moving the handle and opening the door." Why are we debating this anyway? The "idiot" in the OP was wrecking the dunny door, not the cabin door.
