I find it amazing that people can fly out and back in to Thailand on the same day on visa exempt. Paying to fly somewhere you had no intention of staying so that your exit and entry stamp will be on the same day is basically showing proof to the IO that you have serious ties/must be living in Thailand as you can't stay out 1 day, therefor are not a legitimate visa exempt tourist

Except I refuse to shop online, never have, never will.

You say you'll leave thailand every 50 days but don't say how long you'll be out for as that could make a huge difference. I travelled for 4 years on visa exempt doing 2 months in (30 days + 30 extension) and 2 months out without any problems. I was pretty confident only back to back entries may be a problem. I finally got the non-imm O in April with 12 month extension in July but if I knew they were going to 60 day visa exempt I would have just kept doing exempt entries increasing to 3 months in and 2 months out.

Damn, was best place to get cheap reliable aircon remotes

Yeah, he chatted to me when I went in and brought me a menu. I'd much rather have a cute Thai girl do that instead of a fat old British guy

I'd rather pay 240 for a 'real' Guiness Pint in a bar then try one from a can. Even better, the Sportsman has 199 baht Guiness Pints every Tuesday

I just had the Mpox jab because I live in Pattaya
Pattaya57 replied to advancebooking's topic in Pattaya
I thought this FAQ from Bangkok Hospital is pretty informative for all the worriers, especially this bit that basically says anyone older than 45 is already vaccinated "Older adults who have had smallpox vaccine will be immunized against monkeypox. However, people who were born after 1980 may not have received smallpox vaccine" [or after 1974 for Thai people] It also says "Since monkeypox is still not considered a pandemic, the vaccine currently not available in Thailand" so not sure what jab the OP got? https://www.bangkokhospital.com/en/content/questions-about-monkeypox?srsltid=AfmBOoqeQ9-qDHeWWIWI548mAPXuGzfg6Yd4mPM4hjfVWV4WBbsjcfa4 -
"Financial Requirements to show Immigration for 60 Day visa" thread title is confusing? There is no longer a financial evidence requirement for a 60 day tourist visa (removed just after 60 day visa exempt was implemented 15 July), while visa exempt is 20,000 baht (or equivalent) but never really checked by immigration. I've carried less than 2000 baht cash for taxi for 16 years now and never worried about it (I'm sure my bank app balance would suffice if escalated to Immigration supervisor)

I was walking down soi bukhao and saw a BMW 850 fully rigged with luggage racks & bags at the bike service shop there. Looked great so definitely on my radar. I googled and saw new price is 594k for GS standard and 649k for the adventure model so interested to see what you think a used bike "in pristine condition with low too very low mileage/KM's" would be worth (I'm thinking might as well get a new one if you're looking for that condition?)

Self entitled much as you are way over the top thinking this is against human rights 😆 [ah you edited your post deleting all the human rights violations they were committing] No-one is forcing anyone to cross into Laos and return to Thailand at that border so if you don't like the 2 days out of Thailand rule then just choose to go somewhere else

Buying one way tickets with a Re-entry permit
Pattaya57 replied to Felt 35's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You've been a forum member for over 20 years. What posted on this forum has ever given you the idea you would need an onward ticket for anything other than a visa exempt entry... -
Scores level, 3 seconds left, fun way for 49ers to end the last pre-season game vs Raiders 😀 https://www.facebook.com/share/r/f48gKDki38S3SVGW/?mibextid=D5vuiz

Geez, a massage lady told you they're demolishing the whole of soi 19 and 21 to build a hotel and you felt the need to tell us here without thinking first that this would possibly make it the largest hotel in Thailand. Happy ending maybe took blood from your brain 😆

Why not just remove TM6 from passport and don't include a copy with any application? As TM6 is no longer used how would IO know you still have a valid TM6 if you don't show it to them?

Why is anyone giving Stickman any reading time? He admits to writing about Thailand when not actually in Thailand and this one looks like that as well. He probably watched a couple of youtube videos to get his content 😆

To be an Aussie non-resident for Tax, or not?
Pattaya57 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
This thread is about being a resident or non-resident in accordance with current tax laws. How about you start your own thread about these proposed changes to resident tax laws instead of de-railing every thread with your constant repetive posts about your speculative opinion, which doesn't even quote the proposed laws correctly. -
To be an Aussie non-resident for Tax, or not?
Pattaya57 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
Not Centrelink, but I get a fortnightly DVA payment that is supposed to only be paid when actually located in Australia. I'm in my 5th month out this year and I'm still being paid. Seems immigration has better things to do then advise all government departments of old retired guys whereabouts 😉 -
So he visited Walking Street and LK Metro gogo's to compare bar fines and girl prices. So just another monger then... Also found it strange always saying where "white guys" should go. Totally racist imo

Funny how a Thailand bus costs $5. Was that US, Aus, Can or NZ $

To be an Aussie non-resident for Tax, or not?
Pattaya57 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
So I thought I'd keep under the radar and not tell any of my banks that I'm in Thailand (no risk as I don't use my Aus debit cards) So much for that as I opened my NAB app today to this. So they obviously know where we are and how long we stay here 😆 -
How long it took for a 90 day report is not really an indicator of how busy Jomtien is though. 90 day reports have their own counter and do not have to queue with everyone else going for TM30, Residence certificates, re-entry permits and extensions

There should be a sweet spot right now as all the people arriving 30 day visa exempt before 15 July would have already done their 30 day extension, while people arriving after 15 July got 60 days visa exempt so an extension is not due until September
