  1. Probably a result of Danish tax authorities doing an audit on their nationals in Thailand, I think it was them that visited and made a checkup I think a few years ago. So allegedly this Danish guy paid some money to make his tax matters disappear? RD have offices all over the country and they do surprise tax audits on many companies. DTA are what they are and follow the UN or OECD model of DTA, its not open to an individual tax inspector to interpret. The reasoning and explanation behind these agreements and articles is more detailed and complicated than just in the doc itself.
  2. How would they deal with undersea power cables? There are between 100 and 200 cable faults every year around the globe and most, if not all, are not due to USA adventures. Imagine trying to replace this with radiowaves
  3. Read the terms and conditions. The banks regularly updates those and sends them out.
  4. With a credit card, it's the banks money, the card issuer must fight to get its money back. With a debit card, you must fight to get your money back. Bank accounts should be monitored regularly and any unauthorised account transactions must be reported immediately to the bank.
  5. I think even CH makes a lot of noise, at the end of the day they also toe the US and EU line when it comes to international finances and trading.
  6. Its all noise and everyone barking doom and gloom. Europe, the US and UK will still dominate all things financial in the world, setting rules, governing, monitoring, controlling, and dominating. The govts and their financial institutions have and are functioning for eons and will continue to do so.
  7. Looks like undersea cable SEA-ME-WE 5 could be the problem, it was broken between Malaysia and Singapore on April 20th during the night and the networks have been rerouted through SEA-ME-WE 4
  8. Its not meat if its made from a plant. I would say they are plant based plant patties.
  9. How do I protect myself? The tampering of USB charging stations or USB cables is almost impossible to identify. But there are some simple ways to guard against juice jacking: avoid USB power charging stations use AC power outlets rather than USB ports use a portable battery power bank (your own, not a borrowed one!) carry your own charging cable and adapter
  10. HGC Global Communications, one of Hong Kong’s largest Wi-Fi providers, said that four of 15-plus submarine in the cables in the Red Sea had been cut, causing a “significant” disruption to an estimated quarter of traffic. Among the networks affected is Asia-Africa-Europe 1 (AAE-1), a more than 15,500-mile cable system connecting South East Asia to Europe via Egypt. "there is a backup plan if a cable gets destroyed. The majority of telecom companies around the world "rely on multiple undersea cable systems, allowing them to reroute traffic in the event of an outage to ensure uninterrupted service," Thailand has 8 submarine cables There are now 8 international submarine cable systems landing in Thailand, and two new cables under construction: AAE-1 FLAG Europe Asia (FEA) SMW3 SMW4 AAG APG MCT TIS SJC2 (2022) ADC (2022) CAT is the leading operator for international submarine cable sytems in Thailand, being the landing party in Thailand for FEA, SMW3, SMW4, AAG, APG, TIS and ADC, owns and operates five submarine cable landing stations including the Sri Racha Cable Landing Station, the Petchaburi Cable Landing Station, the Songkhla Cable Landing Station, the Satun Cable Landing Station, and the Chumphon Cable Landing Station (now for domestic cable) TOT is the landing party in Thailand for AAE-1 and operates cable landing stations in Satun and Songkhla. My TOT internet is working without interruption since a long time, maybe there is a new problem which has arisen.

Why so complicated? https://www.divorcenet.com/resources/divorce/marital-property-division/how-file-divorce-while-living-abroad#five Service Through Waiver The easiest way to accomplish service is to have your spouse waive personal service. This means that your spouse agrees to sign an affidavit stating that they have received all the paperwork. You then file the affidavit with the court, and your divorce can move into the next phase.

  20. Yes but this is in the article "Police checked Hartas’s criminal history and found that he had escaped arrest in a drug case in Koh Samui and sought refuge in Koh Pha Ngan. Hartas confessed to fleeing from the arrest in Koh Samui, stating that he resorted to begging for food. However, residents informed the police that the majority of the money earned from begging was used to purchase drugs."
  21. One has to sympathise with these people, they get pressured into taking drugs, take them for whatever reason and get hooked and then cant stop. The British govt should be doing more to help them.
  22. The US dept of energy has this document for guidance. https://www.energy.gov/sites/prod/files/2013/10/f3/coolroofguide.pdf and from https://www.energystar.gov/products/cool-roofs Cool Roofs What are cool roofs? A cool roof is made of a material or has a coating that can lower the roof surface temperature, decreasing the amount of heat transferred into a residential or commercial building. In general, traditional roofs absorb sunlight during the day, heating the building and the surrounding air. Roofs that are lighter in color or are reflective stay cooler than roofs that absorb sunlight. There are two ways to help cool a roof. First, a cool roof can reflect away sunlight, so it stays cooler. Such a roof is said to have a high solar reflectance. Second, a cool roof should also release or emit heat (infrared radiation) so it stays cool. Such a roof is said to have high thermal emittance. An ideal cool roof is a roof with both high solar reflectance (SR) and high thermal emittance (TE). While lighter color roofs tend to have the best SR and TE, new coating and material technologies now exist for other colors that have high SR and TE. Exterior building walls are exposed to only about half the amount of sun as roofs, but they can also absorb heat. The same basic principles apply to cool walls as to cool roofs.
