  1. Happen to me once. I was sitting at the counter in a busy restaurant drinking coffee. The guy eating breakfast, next to me started up a conversation. When he finished he took my tab and said he would buy my coffee. You see where this is going. I saw him go up to the cashier, talk to her, she looked over to where I was sitting. I ended up paying for his breakfast????
  2. I don't know if I should post this. On a ticket I bought ( with wife being the other passenger) to fly to the states and back last year, I ran into the pay extra to sit together fee. I am 76 and my wife is 56. Every time I booked my seat first in the non fee seats, it would blank out any seat next to me, even what was other non fee seats. But when I booked a seat for my wife first, I was able to book an aisle. A glitch? I don't know, but it worked on two legs of the trip. In the States I see they are charging extra to use the overhead and you have to pay extra for the second bag on international flights. They should just raise the price of the ticket and let us pick our seats and be able to bring two bags instead of all these games.
  3. I don't think anyone really knows at this time. Waiting for clarity.
  4. Megachef and Shrimp Brand have a lighter smell, I don't like Squid Brand.Too strong a smell, to me makes everything it is cooked in taste like fish sauce just because of the smell.
  5. You must have missed something. The purpose box has always come up for me. I just sent yesterday. I think if I did not get the box I would end transfer and start again.
  6. Last time (and the time before) in Korat, we only brought in one copy of each. Then after signing, the stack was then copied at our expense. Saved a bit of signing fatigue.
  7. That is the oddest thing I ever heard. I have never had them even ask to come in the house. Were your witness's already in the house when they came, and you invited them in? Did they take any other photos in the house? Taking the photo from outside makes me wonder if they were not supposed to be in there.
  8. You have the check mailed to you here in Thailand?
  9. Yeah, I thought of him also????
  10. Eight years ago the Bangkok Bank in New York was doing the transfers. You had an account with that bank that the SS check went into. They no longer do that. I don't know how SS checks are handled. I had to change to having my check sent to my US bank and transferring two or three times a year through Wise.
  11. The reason. The marriage visa is for couples that are living together. I know of one now and one in the past that no longer live together and the one in the past was even living with another woman. The one I know of now lives about 100km away. They get together for his extension and when Imm calls and makes the appointment drives to her house. It has become harder for him due to the fact Imm now (this year is the first time this was required of me) requires the village head to be a witness, and he won't put his head in a noose.
  12. Stay away from all those security cameras then! Even when they wanted that picture sitting on the bed many years ago, THEY didn't take it.
  13. I have had at least 5 home visits, mostly due to having to get new visas. Never have they asked for money. The pictures they have taken have been of witness's signing confirmations that I live there and one of my wife and I with the lead officer in front of our address (I think that one is more to show that they were really there and did their job). Also they never came into the house.
  14. Most of the chlorine evaporates out of sitting water in 24 hrs or 20 minutes of boiling. I lived across the street from one of those filtered water machines for 6 months, never saw them come and clean the filter. Once in Mexico I saw a bunch of kids filling empty water bottles from a tap behind a store and then putting a little super glue on the cap.
  15. We applied in BKK. Every since, almost 13 yrs now, we lived in Thailand just under the 180 day limit. One time returning to the US, the officer counted the days, smile, and said I see you have done your homework. It is faster to apply in BKK. As someone had said, it took about 3 months, My wife got a 10 year, but passed citizen test in 3. I see---Another old post
  16. I heard Korean Air was the first to start doing that. Just wait! A new charge for over weight passengers ????
  17. Wow, you have jumped into the Thai life style. I felt bad that I had to refuse the field rat that my brother in law offered me for lunch. I heard that "IF" the palaa is fermented long enough, it does kill the flukes, but that is rarely the case of the stuff sold by the local sellers at the market. I just saw how old this post is.
  18. I can do 3 days. CM maybe a week.
  19. Not my thing, but my brother was into that look.
  20. NO!
  21. If the girl was old enough. and was hit by someone running a red light would still think she would be 50% to blame? The accident was 100% his fault. The under age girl is another matter.
  22. Mine also????
  23. This maybe better https://tha.sika.com/en/construction/roof-systems/thermal-insulation.html The problem is that they are very flamable and would need to be covered with something like gibson board
  24. This is as close as I can find that might work http://www.thaifoamgroup.com/index.php/product/foam-sheet
