    I dont get the surprise. Thailand, in fact all of SE Asia, has relied on Chinese and other outsiders to survive. Nowdays its mainly tourists dollars, but historicaly most businesses and successes in Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia etc has been run by Chinese or their descendants. I wouldnt complain too much or your meal ticket might disappear.

    Its nothing new, I have brought a lot in from China and its hit and miss at the border, same with Thai post, sometimes they open and charge import duty sometimes they let them go. Obviously the bigger the item the more chance of scrutiny.
