I think many, in official capacities, don't see they are part of the wider picture; they are in their own closed space. Just as Thais will blunder into others without seeing them, officials have a very narrow concept of what their job entails.
I agree with the OP. Bedding is extremely expensive & (often) of poor quality. I bought my 100% cotton sheets from an Indian suppliers near TukCom. They tore very quickly. My TGF cut them and sewed them together. She sleeps muffled in a duvet and I get the (now) single sheet.
I would be grateful for a tip on where to buy the afore mentioned Chinese stuff.
Most Thai dog owners are deaf and ignore their pets' noise which can go on for hours at night (in my experience). I do not condone this offence but have often thought of tossing poisoned food in the direction of the owner.
Meanwhile on every corner, meat is marinated in carbon monoxide for hours in 30+ temperatures served by someone with no toilet/hand-washing facilities surrounded by dogs whilst sending dense clouds of smoke obscuring the road and contributing to the Thai haze.
After enduring a month of English summer where the temperature rarely reached 17, it's a brisk 24 here at 7.30 and I am considering putting a shirt on!
Silly me. I bought & paid 100% for every brick; every stick of furniture; every plant in the garden and thought that equals ownership! Meanwhile an ex-Prime Minister was buying and owning 100% three UK houses AND a football club!
My son was held to ransom when his sisters sent him some Honey Locketts for his birthday. Because he lives in Bangkok he suffers from a persistent cough. It cost him far more than 35 baht to liberate them. It's a scam; a thriving industry, for as long as I can remember.
