  1. A good point, the over zealous banning of electronic cigarettes should appear as a health warning every time someone books a flight to a country where they're banned
  2. Indeed, there's no point in panic, it's already here and it's unstoppable.
  3. Make the most of it while you can, it won't last long.
  4. My main gripe about the Thailand Elite membership / visa system is that the visa stickers themselves only last for a maximum of 5 years or until the expiry date of your passport. Assuming you don't generally leave the country this means a trip to one of the very limited number of places every 5 years or sooner in the case of passport renewal to get a new visa sticker. I'm not sure if they issue them outisde the airports at anywhere except Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok but I believe this is the case. This is not convenient if you live far away from Chaeng Wattana and don't wish to leave the country. In the middle of a large COVID outbreak last year I had to go from Hua Hin to Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok just to get a sticker inserted in my passport. So I hired a driver, drove to Bangkok, checked into a hotel overnight, went to Chaeng Wattana and got my visa by appointment (there is no waiting if you use the concierge service - which you absolutely should), I then had some lunch, relaxed a little and then got back in the car and returned to Hua Hin. Very inconvenient when you consider they could simply choose to insert the visa at provincial immigration offices by advance appointment which is how it's done at Chaeng Wattana anyway. This is petty behaviour by the Thai Immigration authorities The excuse given to me for this was that they need to read the fingerprints when inserting the visa, but I know for sure they have a finger print reader at Hua Hin as I had been there just before going to Bangkok to transfer my stamps to the new passport and saw it on one of the desks - it was identical to the one in Bangkok.
  5. Yes it is - they don't want you to come for 6 months - this much is very clear.
  6. Interesting, looks like they had already dropped enforcement requirements then. When I was there which was at least 10 days ago the checkpoints were not manned but everyone was still wearing masks - that I noticed anyway.
  7. I tend to go to Bluport but I must admit that when I went there last week the 'entrance checkpoints' were not manned at all. and that was before the change. Maybe it was just the time of day I went but who knows.
  8. Greedy enough, they are greedy enough to export it all to China who have been building stockpiles for so long that it affected the rice markets back in 2020 I believe.
  9. I'm going to be surprised if you can mange to get inside a shopping mall without wearing one. A while back (summer 2021) people started to take them off while inside the malls but for sure they had them on to get past the security checkpoint. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
  10. I can see there being a big market to test that samples meet a certain minimum threshold - like 20 or 30% for example - those will sell fast.
  11. If there's less drivers there will be more work and therefore pressure on the remaining drivers...think about that a little.
  12. Everything, including 'traditional deliveries' like pizza, etc - it's all the same. It's not going to happen.
  13. Why bother? It's already here because it's already everywhere else. It doesn't matter.
  14. Surely this will affect everyone everywhere who does any kind of delivery with a 'white plate' and if taken to its logical conclusion there's no reason why it should only be applied to motorcycles. I suspect this just destroyed commerce across the country. How many weeks before they backtrack or 'clarify' on this? Not many I suspect.... Someone at the DLT will be fired very soon.
  15. Come December lots of people (most of them of retirement age) like to escape the cold winters so they fly off to somewhere warm for a few months. In truth 90 days isn't enough for the whole winter. I know people who time their visits and departures based on the maximum amount of time they're allowed with a visa free entry - 30 days + a 30 day extension - then they stop spending money and go home. The only reason they limit their stay to 60 days is because they don't want to send their passport off to a notoriously badly run embassy staffed by imbeciles and unless you leave the country and come back again then 60 days is the maximum stay - so they just go home instead. Does that cover it for you?
  16. Just a hunch but give it a year or two and there will only be one left.
  17. All your post demonstrates is that you don't know what a ponzi scheme is
  18. I mean non Ukranians - likely Polish nationals if they're driving to Poland. For sure people are struggling to export goods due to movement restrictions.
  19. They won't allow Ukrainian men to leave the country - that's doing to severely limit transportation. I guess they're using foreign drivers.
  20. They have banned the drivers from driving outside the country. Maybe that will change. Current export restrictions right now are self inflicted
  21. I saw a piece on the news where they spoke to a farmer who wants to sell his grain to the EU. He can't, even by road. It's very difficult. Ukraine has banned all working age men from leaving the country. This includes the truck drivers. Think about that for a minute or two. Ukraine turned off all the supply lines out of their country.
