  1. Laughable, they're going after the lowest possible hanging fruit.
  2. Perhaps the laughing emoji is related to the ridiculous explanation about the land owner not being responsible for the murder.
  3. I'd be looking for the owner of that neighbouring rice field regardless of whether they'd been there before, maybe they only annoyed him before and took the piss this time by moving into his cottage and building a fire. This also suggests they didn't ask for permission.
  4. OMG, the BMW has been unleashed ????
  5. Well kind of but it was a while back. When it first came about the price was 1 million Baht for a lifetime membership Then it went to 2 million Baht for 20 years for a while I think this is when it really stagnated Nothing changed with the 2 million baht offering - it stayed on offer until now. Then they introduced the 5 year Easy Access membership for just 500k Baht - same price per year but you could just buy it every 5 years. I think the 'benefits' were slightly reduced from the 2 million baht membership and there was/is no annual fee with the 5 year membership. At this point there were only 2 membership types available if I remember correctly, the 500k 5 year Easy Access membership and the 'full' 20 year membership. Then they really shook things up by introducing the 20 year 'Superiority Extension' for 1 million Baht along with a few other different offerings (family memberships, etc) which were introduced over the years. At some point two or three years back they increased the 5 year Easy Access membership price from 500k to 600k Baht. Then they really shook things up again by telling us that you can 'upgrade' from the 5 year Easy Access membership to the 20 year 'Superiority Extension' for another 500k or 400k if you're a more recent member. Now they seem to have looped back to step 2 with the highest price offering. I doubt it will be too long before they continue on this loop and begin offering discounted memberships again once they realise they've poisoned the well.
  6. Why arrest the employees for the actions of the owner?
  7. This is why it's being questioned - they're operating in secrecy. If it was something like an overstay and he didn't have the fine then they would say so like they always do. It's something else and they're hiding it.
  8. It ,may be a little detrimental to the hotel industry but it's going to be a big boost for the small guesthouse industry. I guess you can't always have your own way so that's just hard luck for the billion dollar hotel chains
  9. Isn't this a civil matter?
  10. So what? This happened here, not back in the UK
  11. It should be clear that the only theft that happened here was from the bank itself. Anything else was altering computer records to cover up what happened but the bank is clearly the victim here, not the customers. Those customer records should all be reset to what they should be.
  12. There's something rotten at this airport, I've read about this kind of thing before. You're supposed to be allowed to pay the fine on the way out of the country.
  13. Can I use that excuse if I feel like beating the <deleted> out of someone? Of course not, that would be retarded.
  14. Yes, that about covers it, I got one after getting a new passport. It was straightforward, they also take your fingerprints these days.
  15. No, it works fine for me on 117.
  16. I have a feeling that there being too many members might be a catalyst behind this recent change. Can they handle all the members? They need to strike a balance but I feel they've gone way too far and it won't be long before new discounted plans are introduced, perhaps just a year or two.
  17. Yes, I have a 5 year membership which is being upgraded right now, pending approval I'll be good until 2040.
  18. It will be, especially once these price rises become active which isn't until October I believe. Right now you can still apply for the old pricing model until September 15th. After that I predict that what will happen to the new company will be a comedic failure and they will introduce a new selection of discount packages to make up for having achieved zero new sales between October and whenever they realise they messed it up completely - that might take a year or two but I'm reasonably sure it will happen. They did it before which is why things such as the 5 year membership for 500k and 20 year memebrship for 1 million baht exists. This whole thing started out with a 1 million Baht lifetime visa, then they doubled it to 2 million baht and failed miserably for years - the solution - introduce the 5 year option for 500k. I guess that did ok for a while. Then they bought the 20 year membership for 1 million Baht which may have been reasonably successful. After that they introduced upgrades from the 5 year membership to the 20 year membership for the same price (500k Baht) as the 5 year membership - I suspect this is when they started to get too busy over the last few years. Now they've hit the reset button and it all starts again. It's just a matter of time before they introduce new discount memberships with less 'perks and benefits' in order to bolster non existant sales.
  19. If one day in a few months time, or even a few weeks time there's another publication in the Gazette then whatever it says will be obeyed
  20. Well this new position is not going to be a boots on the ground job is it? He should be confined to the office and perhaps make the odd statement on TV
  21. There is no mention of any loan sharking here, for all we know the noodle borrowed the money off some guy he knew with promises to pay it back. This kind of thing happens all the time. The reason I think this is that when it comes time to pay if they are 'loan sharks' then generally don't send the old man who personally lent the cash to collect it, they send a couple of thugs....I've seen it. I believe the Thais call them the 'helmet people' as they drive around on motorcycles wearing helmets (up to no good and hiding their id) looking for the people who owe them.
