I may be a little ahead of you as I don't eat muesli, granola, rolled oats; lovely little cakes at Amazon & Starbucks; sugar of all kinds; boiled white rice (sigh) ... ). I only use added sugar in home made bread and rarely eat boiled white rice, unless my wife serves it at my evening meal. My breakfast is usually 3 from 5 of apples. bananas, grapes, mango and pineapple, depending what is at the market. plus a yoghurt, half at breakfast time and half for supper around 10 pm. I also have 2 slices of homemade bread or toast with butter, a slice of cheese and 2 slices of plain chicken bologna, flavoured cream cheese triangle, jam or marmalade, but different from the day before. Lunch is usually the other half of dinner from the night before. Otherwise it is catchit from the fridge.

Iran says it helped broker release of Thais held in Gaza
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Nice try but I am not a Hamas supporter. I am however a supporter of all the oppressed peoples across the world' You OTH seem to accept as the truth everything that is pumped out by the Israeli government and the IDF, and don't seem to care about the innocent people worldwide who are slaughtered by their own and by invading governments and armies across the world. I shall not bother to trade insults with you, as you are as biased in your opinion as you claim that I am. -
Iran says it helped broker release of Thais held in Gaza
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If you were in Gaza and saw the dead body of a Palestinian man woman or child, could tell if the body was a Hamas terrorist or not? 1,200 Israelis were killed on October 7th. How many Palestinians have been killed, injured or missing by the IDF since that time. Enough slaughter of innocents on both sides is more than enough, but Netanyahu has still not satisfied his blood lust and he wants to kill every Hamas supporter. Nobody seems to be able to stop him or control him. -
I like both ot then deep fried and crispy but I have a 65 km trip each way to get some, and TBH I can't be bothered nowadays.

I used to make it from the hind leg of a pig, but I gave up as I was to only person to eat it, 5 kg of ham is a lot to eat on your own. I used to do the wet cure and the dry cure, and found the dry cure was best, but it was simply too much for one person.

I have been eating "disgusting processed foods" processed foods for most of my 79 years and I am still going fairly well. How old are you?

Iran says it helped broker release of Thais held in Gaza
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And if Hamas gave up their weapons there would be no Hamas in Gaza and no Gaza. The Palestinians are already in one of the largest prison camps in the world, all 2 million plus of them and yet Netanyahu wants to exterminate every last Palestinian man, woman and child. What is worse than wanting to do it is that he IS doing it. It matters not to him what the rest of the world cares or thinks about about, it is all about him and his war mongering cabinet. -

If you cut off the weapons supply and funding from both sides it is hard to fight a war without funds and ammunition, -

And who backs and arms Israel? The USA. Who could stop this unjust and murderous campaign in Gaza? The USA on one side and Iran on the other -

And far more that you can trust Israel or the IDF. Iran has nothing to gain whereas Israel and the IDF have a lot to lose. -
Death of spouse effect on my marriage visa?
billd766 replied to trubrit's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How does that apply to my 19 year old son who is in full time education at Uni at Chiang Rai and not living with us 500 km away? I support him by paying his living costs, food rent, mobile etc as he is not working? That would apply to a few people I think. -
Rubbish. I lived and worked in 38 countries across the world and nobody FORCED me to live in Thailand. It was MY choice. I was already married in the UK with a wife and son, a good job and a house to live in. Perhaps that is what happened to YOU. I don't know nor do I care but please only speak for yourself, because you certainly don't speak for me, or anybody that I know.

How strange. Perhaps your Wise account is different to mine. I use a Wise Borderless account. When I log onto Wise it shows me ALL my transfers, both coming into Wise and where it was sourced from and the amount, and when I transfer it to the BBK bank it shows exactly how much I transferred, the cost of the transfer, the account number it went to and the forex rate that it was transferred at. It also shows the Wise transaction number so that I can track the transfer. Before I make the transfer I click on "What is the reason for Transfer" and then click on "Funds for long term stay in Thailand". It shows up in my BKK bank account as an FTT transfer and also shows on my monthly statement where the funds came from, the amount transferred, the forex rate it was transferred at, and the amount in Thai baht. YMMV

When my pensions are transferred to Wise, each payment is listed as a source to say where it comes from. Yo can download this information from the Wise list of transactions which should be good enough. Alternatively, you could contact your pension provider(s) and ask for a letter stating that it is a pension payment, though that would be a lot harder to get hold of.

Death of spouse effect on my marriage visa?
billd766 replied to trubrit's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have been trawling through the deep dark bowels of my pc, and I found something like this that I posted on back in 2010. 1 or 2 posters are still current but I have no idea where the rest are. I have posted it as a word document as it is 13 pages long. Also the only English speaking lawyers that I could find in Kamphaeng Phet were based in Sri Lanka. There is 1 Thai lawyer I did find in KPP but the post, location and directions are all in Thai. Visa change Death of wife.docx -

Thank you for that information. I have always wondered what the age limit actually is, and under what circumstances. -
Death of spouse effect on my marriage visa?
billd766 replied to trubrit's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There are not that many lawyers, Thai or English speaking, out here in Nakhon Nowhere though I did look into it a few years ago. I wrote it all up, but I have had several changes of pc since then and I think that either the dog ate my homework or one of my pc's ate the file as I can't find it any more. Fortunately I have nothing in the UK any more so it is only what I have here in Thailand. The house and land is all in my wife's name and will go to our son when she dies. The pick up is old and not worth much, nobody will want my clothes, which only really leaves my mobile, tablet, pc and my tools. As for an usufruct, I wouldn't want to stay here if we split up anyway. One thing that is confusing me is at what age will I stop supporting our son, who is 19 and started uni at Chiang Rai in May for 3 years. He is in full time education until he is 22, but what happens if my wife dies and he is working or even if he is not working? Can I still claim that I am supporting him and if so, to what age? -

Having a plan is a good idea if you have all the information that is needed to make that plan work. If you don't have all the information you need, then your plan will not work. -
That has definitely not been my experience at all living in rural Kamphaeng Phet. Most of the Thais that I meet and deal with could not be me friendly and helpful. Even strangers that I meet in the city are friendly and helpful. Perhaps you live in a different world than I do.

Many of us married expats have not put all the necessary things into place, as we have no real idea of what things are necessary, myself included also. -
There is still the police, the military and all the civil servants already here in Thailand.

Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement offers hope for Thai hostages
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And if Israel and the IDF reneges on the deal, then what will you do or say? Personally I refuse to believe anything that the Israeli government or the IDF says without independent verification. I treat the Hamas government the same way. I will only believe that the hostages are released when they are in another country.
