Of course using a blood pressure monitor does not improve your blood pressure. What it does do is give you some early warning that you may have a problem. My Accu Chek blood sugar monitor does not clear diabetes either. What it does do is give me an early warning that I may be entering stage 2 or stage 1 diabetes. That tells me its is time to monitor it daily and go to the hospital to see the doctor. Both of them are merely tools to monitor my health.
-
But until I saw the doctor I was completely unaware that I even had a problem.
-
But if you don't have or use a blood pressure monitor, how do you know whether your blood pressure is high, normal or low? I was 62 and in Bangladesh before the hospital there told me that I had a partly blocked artery. I came back to Thailand and went to the BKK heart hospital where they told me I had not one, but two part blocked arteries. I bought a blood pressure monitor and I have used it almost every day since.

I have a Microlife BP 3AP1-3E with a large cuff that I have been using for years. It is my second one since 2006. It is similar to this. http://www.excellenthealthtrade.com/สินค้า-167-00390_microlife_blood_pressure_monitor_3ap1-3e.html and this https://www.omronhealthshop.com/product/16/เครื่องวัดความดัน-microlife-รุ่น-3ap1-3e-พร้อม-adapter-มีเสียงพูด-4-ภาษา It has a memory function for the last 100 readings. It also shows if you have an irregular heartbeat. A heart arrhythmia occurs when the electrical signals that tell the heart to beat don't work properly. The heart may beat too fast or too slow. Or the pattern of the heartbeat may be inconsistent. A heart arrhythmia may feel like a fluttering, pounding or racing heartbeat. I have no idea of the price nowadays but IIRC you can send it off for calibration to Microlife in Thailand somewhere (I sent mine off years ago and I have forgotten where). I made up a monthly spreadsheet (attached0 just to keep a record. Blood pressure 2023.xlsx

King Power not happy with talk of abolishing duty-free on arrival
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Companies with monopolies NEVER like competition. quote from the OP. "The airports operator says removing duty-free shops on arrival would significantly impact the revenue it currently shares with King Power". Why are they concerned? They will still get rental from the companies who replace King Power. The brown envelopes may not be so full, but times are hard everywhere nowadays. It would be great for the consumers, if ALL the monopolies and the huge companies were broken up and banned by law. -

Death of spouse effect on my marriage visa?
billd766 replied to trubrit's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thank you. Truebrit's problem is NOT a lack of planning. After all how far ahead can you really, successfully plan? It is mostly bad luck that his wife died before him and the fact that no matter how well you plan it is impossible to see 10, 20, 30 or more years into the future, no matter what the posters on ANN/TVF say. they are really no smarter than anyone else. Some of them just think that they are. -

Court Puts Off Handing Down Verdict In Yingluck Case

If you think that is an abuse of status, what would you call a military coup where the army steals the whole country from the Thai people? Personally, I would call it righting an illegal wrong done by the army under Prayuth. -
Concert in Kelantan with sexy Thai dancers stirs controversy

But it actually happened in near a buddhist temple in Bachok, 25km east of the state capital Kota Baru, Malaysia. Bachok has a sizeable Malaysian-Thai community. -
I was prepared for the last two. When and if they turn up I simply go to the hospital and get the doctor to sign and stamp it. Who better to certify that I am still alive, but a doctor Sometimes I get a second opinion if another doctor passes by his room. It costs about 50 or 100 baht.

For me it is a bit better. Thank you.

I remember punch lists. My boss always seemed to save the worst ones for me. I was never sure if he thought I was the best he had or that he hated me and wanted me to fail. It was a toss up and he had 3 double sided coins. 2 heads, 2 tails and 2 blanks. He did buy the beers afterwards though.

Doubts over Thai target of 8.2 million Chinese visitors in 2024
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think that their crystal ball is long overdue a full service, tune up and recalibration. If that doesn't work, then chuck it away and but a new one, but NOT from Lazada, and definitely not from China. -
It seems to be IO Office dependent. Here in Kamphaeng Phet the IO is 70km away and the Amphur is 15km on the way. The IO is happy enough that it is done in the couple of weeks before or perhaps they don't look at the date and are OK that I have the form. My wife collects the Khor Ror 2 on her own, but we both go for the marriage extension.

As a very old engineer I was taught that if it works, 1 Leave it alone. 2 If is is still broke, fix it yourself. 3 If it is still broke and you can't fix it, find somebody else to blame.

It might be you. 1 Notifications take an age to load A They seem to load for me. I use Google and Chrome as my browser. 2. Topics on the RHS won't appear unless I refresh the page every time. A Don't know what RHS is. 3. The font is too small. A You can change the font or like me you can wear reading glasses. 4. It is far from obvious which notifications have been read/not read. A Very true. 5. I have no idea anymore who likes/laughs/agrees/disagrees with any of my comments. A Me neither. though it didn't bother me before and not now. 6. Videos will no longer play. A They play for me using Google and Chrome.

There are so many variations of dry cured ham and I am sure the last time I used this one, modified to what I liked and also to what I had in my store cupboard. https://www.thespruceeats.com/air-cured-ham-smoked-pork-recipe-1447032 The problem for me is that If I bought a vacuum sealer and the bags etc, I would only use it maybe once or twice a year. They are cheap enough to buy, along with the bags, on Lazada. I will have to talk to 'er indoors and see if she would make use of it as well. Then it may be worth considering. I just caught her in between spring cleaning and. like me, would get little use from one.
