  1. That relationship ended when she found some rich guy to marry her, so no.
  2. It was the ideal situation for me. I had someone that knew my druthers, and was able to go with me for two weeks whenever I chose to go on holiday. No need for them to get holidays from work. P S I didn't give her money to "not work in bar" while I was away. She never asked and I knew that scam so wouldn't have if she did ask me. When I got married I couldn't go to the beach with my wife, as she worked in a proper job and got hardly any days off other than one day a week.
  3. Hmmmmmm. If she's so rich, what is it that you bring to the party?
  4. ---slashing the Defense budget ---"investigating" the FBI because the bureau did its job ---"investigate" the DoJ for even considering doing its job ---"investigate" the CIA for reasons the repubs have yet to decide ---Hunter's laptop Sounds good to me
  5. Depends on who made the missiles. IMO if they are American, BINGO, WW3.
  6. Ah, so it's OK for Ukraine to be destroyed, and thousands of Ukraine dead, as long as American doesn't suffer itself! A somewhat cynical attitude but not the only time in American history it's done that. Remember another proxy war the US fought in a SEA country? That didn't end well for the US, but at least they did get involved more than in the current proxy war. Probably why they do it with other people's blood now.
  7. How can things get better when people vote for people who are clearly not able to do the job? Which would apply to the Democrat side as well, would it not? How's Kamala doing with her responsibility on southern border? What I don't understand is how people vote for serial liars with no knowledge and no plan. Most politicians then? I think you missed all my posts that people often vote for what they perceive as the lesser of 2 bad options, and bad options seem commonplace in politics now, IMO. It doesn't mean they are crazy, unless multi millions are all crazy.
  8. While this is somewhat off topic, I don't want anything for the patient in the OP that I wouldn't want for myself in such a situation. I have a DNR order and if any Dr keeps me alive I'll haunt him after I do get to pass over to a better place. IMO any that don't make any provision for just such an event are in effect saying that they want to be untreated, unless they go around all their friends and family and ask them to cover the bill. It's not fair on friends and family to do nothing and then expect them to pay when it all goes wrong.
  9. Given that he apparently has no money to pay for this time, even if he survives this event, what about the next event etc. At what time do people accept reality? Most western countries don't have voluntary euthanasia. Which means that anyone not wanting to hang around to the bitter end hooked up to a machine has to DIY, It's time for that thinking to end and euthanasia left up to the individual to choose. It is our life, isn't it?
  10. The problem is that the rich people can pay the guys with guns more than poor people can. Wait till AI and robotics can eliminate all the jobs and it really kicks off. I hope I'm not around when it does.
  11. NB all the below is IMO 1/ Stock markets are gambling for rich people. Far as I'm concerned they can vanish and the world will be better for it. 4/ Ukraine war will end when American taxpayers stop the government giving all the money to arms manufacturers. 5/ Agree ( if not in 23, some later year ) 6/ Dream on. If likely, they will attack Taiwan to unite the country behind them.
  12. See if going without water is a better idea. IMO the wars of the future in Africa will be about water. Check out what is happening on the Nile.
  13. Composting toilets require no water and make fertiliser. Perhaps all those that care about poor parts of the world can get together and pay for a few million of them to be sent to poor and waterless countries.
  14. Lawyers must love people that file cases like this. Great publicity and they get paid even if the client loses. I'll be extremely surprised if this case succeeds.
  15. Ah, the democratic weak spot eh? Have to put up with all those "crazy" voters that have a different opinion to oneself. ????
  16. Actually I agree with "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" as long as the "from each" part is actually done. Problem now in western society IMO is that too many give nothing but still expect to get ( and do get ).
  17. Bit like the Russia Russia Russia thing then? Really wasn't much there.
  18. The British had to pay back the "loan", but I've seen nothing to say the Ukrainians will have to do so. Tell me if they do.
  19. IMO he sees it, but doesn't know how to get out of it without losing one side or the other. Crawl back to the royals and lose his child, or lose his royal family. Not a choice I'd like to make.
  20. I've seen nothing to suggest that the GOP will block all aid to Ukraine, but I do assume they won't be signing any blank cheques.
  21. LOL. How does trashing his family serve the Queen ( the royal family )? He did serve in the military and had the respect of most for it. His wedding had people queuing for days to cheer the carriage. Yet all that good will gone in a couple of years. This poster has no doubts as to who was responsible, and it's not Charles or William, or their wives.
