  1. My point which you chose to ignore is that being indicted by the court probably means nothing to Putin. I doubt he'll be holidaying in Blackpool any time soon.
  2. If you live in LOS you should get a Thai driving licence. Yes, but far as I know only applies for one year. I was driving in NZ on a Thai licence, but only for one year.
  3. There are a few million Chinese that disagree with your opinion. IMO to them the west is an oppressor that exploits the poor of Asia to get rich ( the west has been doing that since they introduced opium to the Chinese to get rich ), and IMO they probably like it that the west is looking impotent to do much no matter how many brave words they say.
  4. If the west depends entirely on some dictator having a "meaningful" dialogue we really are screwed, IMO. Perhaps we really are so pathetic, but I am descended from people that didn't bother with "meaningful dialogue" when they went out and conquered half the planet. Where are the people in the west with the guts to do that now- all no more than dust?
  5. Well said indeed. If I didn't go on this forum I'd never even know it was happening. After it's all over it'll be as important to the world as Syria. Compared to the economic destruction imposed by governments in reaction to covid, IMO it won't have much effect. Where I live the Ukraine war is so unimportant that not a single person I've talked to mentions it.
  6. It's a sign that you shouldn't get married. I had a few "signs" before I married my Thai lady, and I wish I'd taken the hint and not got married. If she loves you she'll live with you, and you can have a village wedding instead of the legal morass you want to enter.
  7. Really? So it's not our problem if someone causes the deaths of millions of people so long as they don't cross the border? I can't agree with that. Atrocities are atrocities wherever they are caused. IMO it's hypocritical of western countries to criticize Russia while allowing the outrageous situation in Burma.
  8. Idict away, but IMO it won't amount to much, except with people that think it's an important court. IMO it's the same as the UN.
  9. Or, perhaps he doesn't care what soft western countries think. We haven't stood up to bad people since Korea, IMO, and I don't count the Iraq conflicts as anything to do with supporting democracy or removing dictators. Had Saddam not gone loopy and invaded Kuwait he'd probably still be in charge, IMO.
  10. I was replying to someone that thinks Putin will be. I give that as much chance as there was of Mao going on trial in Europe. IMO all the talk on here of Putin being assassinated or removed somehow is just wishful thinking. Takes more than good manners to survive as a dictator. Tell me if I'm wrong, after it happens.
  11. Indeed, which is why it behooves western leaders to tread carefully. I'm sure none of us want to see Europe destroyed in a nuclear war. We need a Jack Kennedy now, but sadly all we've got is Joe. I hope he has really good advisors that he listens to.
  12. LOL. Justice doesn't require an International Criminal court to prevail. I'm pretty sure justice happened in the Middle Ages too. It's not just about this conflict.
  13. Life isn't fair. Horrible people get to be in charge and nice guys come last in the love game. Don't like it, become a politician and change it.
  14. Then they should have sorted it at the start of the relationship.
  15. My entire life has been marked by wars with despicable atrocities going on, but I don't recall any significant outrage on the scale of this one. Perhaps because all those other ones were carried out in far away places and in countries we don't care about. If any are really exercised about it they can go volunteer with The International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine. I'm sure they are welcoming recruits now.
  16. If what you say is true it's unlikely he'd be around to go on trial. Either hiding in a friendly country or having crossed the great divide. However justice has this strange habit of catching up with people in the end. Idi Amin died in Saudi, Stalin died of a stroke and was given a state funeral and Mao, who may have caused the deaths of up to 45 million Chinese died of a heart attack and was honoured after his death. Putin has a ways to go to be near the last 2 in brutality.
  17. If you don't mind woke it's not a bad movie per se. Disney has something to do with the movie which explains the excessive wokeness.
  18. Getting pregnant isn't obligatory. If by some freak chance I woke up as a woman that was at least half way attractive I'd be getting free dinners and loads of sex every night, but pregnant, never . As for marriage- not a chance.
  19. I don't think "romantic love" exists. IMO in the beginning it's lust and if we are lucky it becomes companionship or friendship. If I want "love" I'll get a dog, but if it's sex then it has to be a female, and if the only people that will with me look like my granny then I'll be celibate. Too many pitfalls with getting married for me to bother.
  20. That would be hard given I don't stay on here too long any more, but I know what you mean. Extra supplements- not unless you count vitamin C. I think I'm probably normal for a guy with the usual hormones. Perhaps it's the lack of opportunity that makes me think about it more than I would if I could. I envy guys in LOS that have enough money to indulge in rumpty on a regular basis. They should thank the deity every day that they can, as there are a lot of guys that can't.
  21. That would qualify as a miracle as I gave up alcohol long before I discovered Thailand's night life. Like I said, I don't need anything to be instantly lustful.
  22. I'm really happy I didn't sleep with girls when I was a young fella, as knowing my luck she'd get pregnant, I'd have had to marry her, and I'd have missed out on all the great things I did in my life. That was back in the days before the pill and having an illegitimate child was a great shame. Plus no tax money to unmarried mothers, and they normally gave them up for adoption if the guy wouldn't marry them.
  23. Actually it can be a real experience. I fell in love with my first GF and she with me almost at first sight. Back then good girls didn't have sex ( no pill back then ) because of the risk of getting pregnant, so it wasn't about sex. Unfortunately, life parted us so we never got married. She did get married after me, and lived together with her husband till he died a couple of years ago, which is probably unusual nowadays.
