  1. Well they did also say Social security and annuities, I agree, I am just going to assume that non of the funds I transferred are non assessable, and not file a tax return. Let them audit me. then I can simply claim that all the funds I transferred were from savings realised before 2024 . If the Thai tax profesional are not sure , how the heck can we be? and that's seven months in the Taxable year. TIT
  2. And once he fixes it the Beautiful Christians will not have to vote any more. How about the Interactive Christians of which there are many, would they have to vote? I love it when Chicken Don says things and then his supporters come back and try to explain what he really meant to say. If you are going to regurgitate republican talking points . please try and get them right, what you said makes no sense .
  3. If 66% of funds raised are from small donations, the people are voting with their donations . All the polls prior to her becoming the nominee were garbage . People did not know her, they were following the narrative about her perpetrated by the trumpsters, (I don't even say Republicans because they are not Republicans), Now we are getting a chance to see her and the contrast between her and Chicken Don.
  4. I did not see that. they must have fixed that glitz by the time I got there,. But yours sounds like the kind of quiz I would do very well in Joking of course, without the challenge what's the point. I tried to start a quiz thread years ago, and it went well for a few pages, but then , I believe. without the time restrain , google defeated the whole purpose of it. People Think that Google is a good thing and in many ways it is, but there is no substitute for having the information rather than having quick access to it . There is a danger to having quick access to information because it makes people mentally lazy, and in a way functioning idiots, because if you have access to information but not in your brain, it plays little part in your cognitive process. When connecting the dots in your mind, you simply do not have this dot instantly available to connect. Ands since you often don't know what you dont know, you don't have the capacity to Google it. Does that make any sense?
  5. The US knew that Russia would not have a choice other than to invade . Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy Former President of France initially stated their opposition to NATO eastern expansion "Merkel said that NATO membership would have damaged Ukraine and that Putin would have seen it as akin to a “declaration of war, " CIA Director Bill Burns , and then Ambassador to Russia warned Washington "Ukrainian entry into NATO is the brightest of all redlines for the Russian elite (not just Putin). In more than two and a half years of conversations with key Russian players…I have yet to find anyone who view Ukraine in NATO as anything other than a direct challenge to Russian interests.” " https://responsiblestatecraft.org/2022/04/28/did-the-us-really-take-russias-nato-concerns-very-seriously/ Many many others warned yet it came as a surprise to the US when Russia invaded Ukraine. If you believe that it did come as a surprise IMO you are soft between the ears. Ukraine was canon fodder in a successful attempt of the US to restart the cold war. Something that you and your children will be paying for generations to come.
  6. Not to the question of what started the Ukraine war. Obviously something that happen after the war started could not had been the cause of the war.
  7. I did not see them but I do have a strong opinion about them.
  8. and what does that have to do with the price of tea in china?
  9. Same score but I beat you time. Seriously I took the general knowledge quiz and was surprised that I did not do as well as I thought I would. The questions were like trivia pursuit questions and since my whole life has been dedicated to the pursuit of triviality I thought I would do a lot better. But I think it was the fault of the quiz because it kept asking me questions I did not know the answer.
  10. As I said , it looks like that accountants for farangs will become a lucrative business. They say that the new tax system is designed to increase Thai tax revenue, I think it will have the opposite effect of people transferring to Thailand the absolute minimum. Anyway, It was a pleasure talking to you guys, got to go take a shower 'cause wife wont let me in bed unless I do. lay down and read for an hour or two , and hopefully fall asleep. Good Night
  11. that can't possibly be right since 18% of world trade is conducted by BRICK as they say "This does not compute" And don't worry about my IQ in financial decisions I use many different sources. it is the only way to triangulate the truth.
  12. except for what Chicken Don says no indication at all. This is what he said to his "Beautiful Christians"
  13. In view of my precise and factual what do you think? Does China have Issues? what country does not? sis I say it will dethrone the dollar? No go back and read what I said . I said it could, "Russia, China team up against the US dollar with planned blockchain payment system" https://www.foxbusiness.com/money/russia-china-team-up-against-us-dollar-planned-blockchain-payment-system
  14. This is a very simplistic question. So far Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates.Tgether they comprise about 28% of the global economy. With Iran, Saudi Arabia and UAE as members, Brics countries produce about 44% of the world's crude oil With 30 other countries having applied for membership . the currency used is China's RMB "The Chinese won't even pay the Russians in rubles for their oil, and they are purportedly allies. " why the US pays it's allies in their national currency?
  15. Yes indeed, Thailand is a Community property country. Me and the wife have been married for close to 16 years, I lose count. I have nothing to worry about, she is honest to a fault. Neither one of us can imagine a life without the other. Yes indeed, I will give it a year to see how all of this pays out. I also have misgivings about the gift thing, Conceivably I can gift my wife a million dollars every two years, she could be a multimillionaire in a few years , I can't believe she would be living in Thailand a multimillionaire and not pay taxes. We go to the US at least once a year, we would just stuff our pockets with the maximum allowable. And start charging everything on my Capitol one credit card that has no foreign transaction fees.
  16. Only marginal difference. with the main difference that the democrats are not trying to destroy democracy and the constitution. Chicken Don is a sociopath, He is transactional, anything he does there got to be something in it for him. Russia and China is a very complicated situation. to complex to discuss in this thread replies.
  17. It shows you how little you now about this issue. Yet that does not stop you from having a strong opinion. This whole eastern extension of NATO that cause the Russians to invade. got started 2008 at the Bucharest NATO summit. And yes they are all guilty , Obama, VP Biden who was in charge of the Ukraine portfolio, and none less than Chicken Don, and president Biden. Aside from all the destruction and loss of life, it could prove to be a monumental mistake for the US. The seizure of Russian assets galvanised the non aligned countries to form BRICS and could result in the dollar being displaced as the world's reserve currency.
  18. I don't have a checking or credit card with them, I should get one but I never got around to it, otherwise I have no problem accessing my account from here. also they are very good with answering the phone and being helpfully. When accessing your account, among the other options , there is an option to verify your identity by phone ,) I have Skype )After they give me the code, I usually keep them on the phone while doing my transaction in case I have a problem finding or doing something.
  19. He had 4 years to stop the eastern expansion of Nato. instead he transfer millions of dollars worth of weapons. Now he comes to the dance?
  20. So many questions so few answers. This is exactly my complain. IMO it will be a cluster <deleted> the first year. I Realy don't want to go anywhere else , I am settled here, our house has been built 10 years now, and paid for, I have it set up just the way I want it, as many of use have, our car is paid form we pretty much have everything we deed. Who wants to start moving to other countries, learning the systems , starting a new household, getting cars and drivers licences. we will see. I think there might be a new industry of accountants for farangs.
  21. Very hard to foLlow the Thread , a lot of good information buried under an avalanche of bickering . But it's good to know, though I think this loophole will be closed otherwise it would make this whole tax endeavour moot. Why then wouldn't everyone simply gift the money they transfer to their wife. (assuming of course they are married) I don't see the money anyway.
  22. 20 million is a lot of money for Thailand (more than half a million USD) I cant believe that this is true and per year. Do you have a link to some place where that information is listed. I found something "Gift tax rates in Thailand are structured to favor transfers to direct relatives. For gifts to ascendants, descendants, or spouses, the tax-free threshold is 20 million baht per year to a single recipient, with a tax rate of 5% applied to amounts exceeding this threshold. " https://www.expattaxthailand.com/gift-tax-2024/#:~:text=Gift tax rates in Thailand,to amounts exceeding this threshold.
