  1. Quite so, but they do exist, I am doubtful telling them you are "waiting for a consular official" will cut it, at certainly if they see you are a Brit.
  2. I think the £100 version is a short term one hit visa;
  3. It was 140/day long term, 250/day short term. To me never worth the hassle of long term for anything up to a month.
  4. Could be because it's just before a holiday period, Songkran. Google flights shows cheaper flights both before and after your date;
  5. I don't know what the actual rules are but numerous times in the past I have entered via air and left by car (to Singapore) and vice versa. I do not recall ever being asked about my onward travel plans, nor when I have flown in and back out again, and have never had to show a ticket or reservation of any kind.
  6. I use the app, why not give it a try? As an added advantage you then never have the misfortune to stumble across advertising featuring those two goons Ant & Dic.
  7. In case your visa application fails for any reason you can still enter visa exempt (45 days) and easily get a 30 day extension in country. The only issue you need to address is an onward flight within 45 days which the airline might want to see at check-in.
  8. You mean she should have planned to lose her passport a bit earlier?
  9. Not required, only your Thai licence is needed.
  10. Guess you mean extension not visa. As many as you like, provided you buy a multiple re-entry permit.
  11. Correct. She would only need to meet the financial requirement on the day she converts to the initial 90 day non-O, i.e. THB 800K in a Thai account in her name, that does not need to be seasoned. Seasoning is only required later when applying for the annual extension of stay. I don't know how/if it works if trying to go the monthly income route, hopefully others will update on that.
  12. You convert to a non-O, not a non-OA. That is why no insurance is required.
  13. That's data roaming. That is not needed to receive SMS's. They cost nothing to receive.
  14. Hotels., done similar many times. No issues with anybody.
  15. You need to buy an "Extrapack" for roaming data on the app. Go to ExtraPack, choose "roaming", select "England" then choose the data pack you want.
  16. "On Transfer Purpose: Select “Funds for long term stay in Thailand” or “Purchase of Property” https://wise.com/help/articles/2932335/guide-to-thb-transfers
  17. As luck would have it this prestigious event coincides with my first ever tourism visit to the fine city of Patong, or for that matter Phuket. I am hoping this is not going to ruin my holiday.
  18. How much of the first paragraph of this story did you actually read?
  19. If you do find a branch it is highly unlikely that you will get (or want) a "checking" account. A savings account is what is required.
  20. Will you be over 50? Switch to a retirement extension.
  21. Presumably download the requested statements and send them on. All my banks (and indeed Wise themselves) provide online statements, just because they don't send paper ones doesn't mean they don't exist.
