Receipt of Notification
ubonjoe replied to anandra's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you sent it by mail and included a return envelope they would send the receipt for it. If in person they would give it to you after the report is accepted. -
You should of waited until you got in the mail or until it has been about 60 days from the day the announcement was done that they will be sending them.

That is what the rules state but not sure Loei immigration will enforce the 24 hours.

Advice needed for OA renewal/extension
ubonjoe replied to mwardy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You mentioned insurance in your post. The expiration date of the insurance is not relevant when using a re-entry permit for a extension of stay. The extension would of been issued to when the insurance ends or to the day the current one ends if the insurance's validity was equal to to that day or longer. -
Advice needed for OA renewal/extension
ubonjoe replied to mwardy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is only if a person is entering with a valid Non-OA visa. He is on a a extension of stay based upon retirement not a OA visa. -
90 days report in Chiang Mai -
ubonjoe replied to RedReding's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Wait for at least 3 days or so. Some offices are busier than others and it can take longer to get the approval. Edit: Yesterday was the first day they would of processed those done on Friday and the weekend. It may be delayed due to the backlog that they have. -
Re-entry permit options?
ubonjoe replied to justsignedin's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I don't recall any reports of Jomtien needing 2 days to get a re-entry permit. You can cannot get a re-entry permit when traveling on a domestic flight. The desks are only in the International departure zones for immigration. -

Passport validity for Visa extension
ubonjoe replied to mrjohn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
To apply for a 12 month extension of stay (it is not a visa) if you do not have a passport valid for 12 months your extension will be issued to the day it expires. Then when you get a new passport you will have to apply for a new extension. There is no 6 month rule for extensions of stay. The 6 month rule is only for entries to the country for those from certain countries. -
A STV (special tourist visa) allows one 90 day entry that can be expended twice for 90 days. If you wanted to travel during the first 90 days or one of the extensions you could apply for a single re-entry permit at immigration keep the remainder of the 90 days valid when you enter the country. A METV (multiple entry tourist visa) allows unlimited 60 day entries for 6 months from the day it issued by Thai embassy or official consulate. A single entry tourist visa (SETV) allows one 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days.

I want to stay 6 months in thailand
ubonjoe replied to parafareno's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You seem to of skipped over the METV (multiple entry tourist visa) as an option. You can get a total stay of almost 9 months from it by doing 2 border hops with the last one done just before the visa expires. That is a total of the first entry of 60 days and a 30 day extension, border hop for a new 60 days +30 day extension and repeat border hop just before the visa expires +30 day extension. -
Non Immigrant OA Visa - Health Insurance
ubonjoe replied to eaunaturelH3's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
In my opinion it is all a lot of false and misleading info. A agent stating immigration might get smart and make problems for those that change from NOon OA visa entry to a non- visa is just scaremongering. There is a chance the agent has financial interest in this case. I can assure immigrating does not want to deal with thousands of more applications done that require proof of having the insurance. That is why they only accept insurance from Thailand companies for extensions of a OA visa entry that they can verify online. -
US passport Stamp transfer problem
ubonjoe replied to hereforgood's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Did he use his new passport to enter the country? Normally immigration will transfer the stamps without the letter if it has been used for entry. He should contact ACS at the embassy and they will probably send him the letter by email. The will probably want a copy of his passport photo pages. Their email address is on the page. https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/ -

I want to stay 6 months in thailand
ubonjoe replied to parafareno's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A single entry tourist visa would would allow a 60 day stay that can be exerted for 30 days. Then a border hop for a 30 day visa exempt entry that can be extended for 30 days. -

Put you old TM6 number. Unless you are entering with a new visa or changing addresses a TM30 report is no longer required. -
Baby Overstaying on a Non-F Visa
ubonjoe replied to Bakhtiar's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Children under the age of 15 are not fined for a overstay. For any punishment it is up to the age of 18. -
Are you applying for a extension based upon being the parent of a child attending a school (500k baht in bank needed). Or are you applying for a extension of stay based upon the parent of a Thai. Nothing should be needed for that extension other than proof she is attending a school and that would be you local immigrate office wanting it. There is nothing in the written orders for the extension that requires it.
