  1. You can show anything to prove you're getting a pension or such. It has been a long time since I saw a report of anybody get one for retirement at Savannakhet due to covid 19. You can also apply for a non-o visa at immigration with visa exempt or tourist visa entry.
  2. I went through the steps on the IATA website earlier and got this for a visa exempt entry.
  3. Yes Quote of info on that webpage. "Travel by Sky Train (SRT) : Dark Red Line (Lak Si Station) (Exit 1 or Exit 2)" Also shown on this map (link on webpage). https://goo.gl/maps/EScEqeak4Psqr59g7 If staying in Bangkok you have to do it there. You can go to another province and apply if you have proof you are staying that province (TM 30 report from a hotel for example).
  4. It is the main immigration office in Bangkok that is located at the Chaeng Wattana government complex. He went to IT Sqaure Laksi Plaza shown at the bottom of the webpage. https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/courses/muangthongthani-will_be-closed/
  5. It is not required since you would never stay in the country for more than 90 days before you have to leave the country for a new entry.
  6. No Proof it came from abroad is only required to apply for a non-o visa at immigration.
  7. Yes But it may not be enforced all the time. There have been reports of people not being asked for it.
  8. You can submit the online report up to 2 weeks before to the report date. Lots of info is in the this pinned topic.
  9. The best way to get to Savannakhet is to cross the bridge from Mukdahan to Savannakhet. There is no airport in Mukdahan. You can fly into Nakhon Phanom, Ubon Ratchathani and other airports and then travel to overland to Mukdahan. Unless you arrive early in Savannakhet you may need to stay for 2 nights in Savannakhet. The accept visa application 9 to 11 am and pickup is the next day from 2 to 4pm. You will need to apply for a Lao visa on arrival on Lao side of bridge or you can apply online. See: https://laoevisa.gov.la/index ). You will need proof of being fully vaccinated or a ATK test done within 48 hours of arrival.
  10. Savannakhet only want to see 20k baht or the equivalent of it in any bank. But they do not always want to see it. The consulate in Ho Chi Minh City is another place to go for one. Maybe the consulate in Penang would be a choice but I have not seen any recent report of them doing them. Before they were wanting to see 200k baht in any bank.
  11. Apparently some rouge immigration officers making problems for a person that is doing nothing wrong. I can't say much more than the above.
  12. He will get a 45 day visa exempt entry not a 30 day (normally 15 days) VOA cost 2000 baht since he is from the UK. The 45 days can be extended for 30 days. It will not be easy to open a bank account with a visa exempt entry. Hist best choice may be apply for a single entry tourist visa that will allow a 60 day stay. He could also apply for a single entry non-o visa for retirement that would allow a 90 day stay that he could extend for one year.
  13. The re-entry permit desks are in the departure immigration area after the security checks. Not possible to get there unless you have checked in for a flight.
  14. Some office will allow you to leave those spaces blank since the are not really relevant. If needed you can put any dates that are within the permit to stay date that you have when applying.
  15. I don't recall any such order being issued. If you look a a few embassy and consulates websites you will find that the majority want to see proof you have at least 20k baht in the bank to apply for the visa. That is for proof you have the same amount of money to enter the country. About the only time immigration wants to see the 20k baht in cash is if they looking for a reason to deny entry.
  16. Close to correct but it depends upon the category of visa you have when you enter the country. If on a extension of stay (one year) you only need to report if you enter with a new visa. Travel within the country does not require a new report.
  17. Moved to the Thailand Motor forum.
  18. No The ticket out of the country is not required if you have a valid visa or re-entry permit when entering the country.
  19. It would have to be in a Thai bank for 2 months on the day the extension is applied for.
  20. No need for 800k baht in the bank with proof of income from the embassy. It only has to be proof of income and immigration would calculate the annual income and and the amount needed in the bank reach the total of 800k baht.
  21. I can recall at least one form the US. And I think there have been some from the UK as well recently.
  22. If you apply for a one year extension of stay you will need a re-entry permit to keep you extension valid when entering the country. If you entered the country using the multiple entry non-o visa you would get a new 90 day stay that would make your extension invalid.
  23. The rules state it is possible. But the problem is that immigration will require 12 months of transfers into a Thai bank from abroad to prove the income part of the combination option if you cannot get a proof of income from your embassy.
  24. The financial proof shown for a non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai on the e visa website when you do the application. You can write not required and upload proof of at least the standard 20k baht requirement for visa applications.
  25. It is a requirement for visa exempt entries under Thailand regulations. The airline is only enforcing the requirment,
