That is out of date form. "Form SSA-7162-OCR-SM (7-2011) Destroy Prior Editions" A latest forum is dated 2020 "" The notice you get in the 2nd notice states if you have sent one recently then you could ignore the notice. I assume having one received by the SSA would be the same.

won't get questioned at DMK or SUV airport?
ubonjoe replied to agg211's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is the first time you did it back to back it should be a problem. Just be prepared to answer a few question about what you are doing here. -
Aussies stay Thailand for 6 months
ubonjoe replied to Youbloodybeauty's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A Non-OA visa is only issued as a multiple entry visa and is valid for one year. A single entry non-o visa only allows one 90 day stay. A multiple entry non-o allows unlimited 90 day entries for one year from the date it issued. -
Visa extension and New Passport issue
ubonjoe replied to Mahks's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Which category of visa? And upon what basis. A Non-OA has a lots of requirements. A single entry non-o visa would only require 90 days of medical insurance if it is based upon retirement. You could also enter visa exempt and then apply for a non-o visa at immigration that would not require any insurance. -
Aussies stay Thailand for 6 months
ubonjoe replied to Youbloodybeauty's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A re-entry permit would not be needed if the OA visa was still valid when entering the country. It would allow a new one year stay in the country. A re-entry permit is only needed for the 2nd year of of the visa to keep the last one year stay valid. -
Registered mail at least provides proof of delivery for a fee of 325 baht versus standard mail. I agree it is slow for some unknown reason. To me it is worth it to get the proof of delivery.

You will not be questioned when you enter the country unless you have gotten back to back visa exempt entries. -
Visa extension and New Passport issue
ubonjoe replied to Mahks's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you have a multiple entry non-o visa you have to leave the country every 90 days unless you are married to or the parent of a Thai to get a 60 day extensions of the 90 days. You are confusing a non-o visa and a one year extension of stay that allows you to stay without leaving the country. -
I suspect it is not going to change anytime soon. At this time only Myanmar and Thai citizens can enter Myanmar at border crossings. Apparently they have eliminated the border pass to enter there for foreigners. You might be able to do it if you applied for a Myanmar visa at their embassy or consulate.

Marriage extension quandary
ubonjoe replied to Bangkok Barry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No I don't mean that. The only rule is that you can only get one 60 day extension per entry to the country. It does matter how many on year extensions you have gotten. Maybe you you should call the immigration helpline at 1178 to get your the office you are dealing with sorted out since they are completely wrong. If you don't mind doing a unneeded border hop that is up to you. How does a border save you money? -
Elite Visa renewal - potential issue.
ubonjoe replied to Jenkins9039's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He not applying for a new elite visa. He want to extend his stay from a valid elite visa to stay for another year. Just confusion caused by calling a permit to stay in the country a visa. A visa only allows you to enter the country and stay for the length of time it allows unless you apply for a extension of it. -
Aussies stay Thailand for 6 months
ubonjoe replied to Youbloodybeauty's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is no written limit that restricts stays as a tourist per year. You could enter visa exempt and stay about 2 months if you apply for a 30 day extension of it since you would be out of the country tor 2 months. Immigration only looks for people that appear to be using visa exempt entries to live in the country. -
Visa extension and New Passport issue
ubonjoe replied to Mahks's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think most countries will issue a passport if you do a application for one and it does not matter how much validity it has remaking. I applied for and got new one this year when my passport had over 13 months remaining on it. -

Visa Exemption Extension. Nov 2022
ubonjoe replied to Stevey's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Of course you can leave Thailand and enter Laos again. After getting a tourist visa it certainly would not be problem enter Thailand with a tourist visa. No problem to enter visa exempt on or after January 1st visa exempt since that is the day the 2 per calendar year starts again if you have already reached the limit for this year. -
Marriage extension quandary
ubonjoe replied to Bangkok Barry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A visa exempt entry is by air or land is 45 days. Not sure where you got the 60 day number. Both can be extended for 30 days. I suspect you could not apply for the 60 day extension due to getting one since your last entry to the country with a new permit to stay. A re-entry permit is not considered a new entry since it was issued for existing permit to stay. -
1st time extension of non-O requirements
ubonjoe replied to Peabody's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There certainly is no requirement to have 15 days remaining on your stay in the country to apply for a extension of stay. Maybe you friend was mixing up the application for a visa at immigration with a extension of stay application. -
WILL IT PASS 'MUSTER' ??
ubonjoe replied to factseeker's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You will be applying for a non-o visa that allows a 90 day stay that is not a extension. Near the end of the 90 days you will be applying for a one year extension of stay. You can extend your 45 day visa exempt entry for 30 days to get more time to submit your application on or before you before you have less than 15 days on your stay required to do the visa application. Where your visa application is sent to for approval depends upon which office you apply at. It is sent to immigration division headquarter the is over the office where you apply. You will have plenty of time to do the visa application. -
The 20k baht is required for all entries to the country. Normally airlines and immigration will not ask to see it but best to have it incase it is asked for.

Aussies stay Thailand for 6 months
ubonjoe replied to Youbloodybeauty's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Apparently you are asking about getting Non-OA visa at the embassy in Canberra or the consulate in Sydney. It might be a good option but only one you would have to apply for it. The other one could get a non-o visa at the embassy and then apply for one extension equal to the others permit to stay from the Non-OA visa. The insurance must meet the requirements shown on the embassy or consulate website. That is standard way the numbers are done. If you look at other condo buildings or houses they would have the same first number.
