  1. Not in the US. For US citizens they do not do a entry stamp (I have not gotten one since the early 90's). And since there is no departure immigration procedure there is no stamp.
  2. I assume it would depend upon what is shown on the Covid 19 test certificate. If if shows you did the test swab at home it probably would not be accepted since anybody could do the swab that you give to the lab.
  3. 1. You can get a 30 day extension of your 30 day visa exempt entry. There is no 15 day extension. Immigration here does not ask to see a ticket out of the country within 30 days of arrival but the airline is likely to ass to see a ticket out of the country. Do a search for onward ticket and you find several sites offering temporary tickets for about $12 US that will be accepted by the airline when you check in. 2. Transiting through another country does not affect you being able to enter for the test and go if fully vaccinated. But it needs to be a transfer without entering the other country.
  4. The corvid 19 insurance has been available for those up to the age of 100 years. Not sure what age is available for the new 50,000 baht insurance requirement that starts on November 1st since I have not found any info about it. It will be required for entry by air or land for some time to come.
  5. People have used proof they are retired to apply for a METV instead of employment proof. The Thai embassy in the US is now showing the METV is available again. But not clear yet when you will be able to easily leave and re-enter the country to use it to get a new entry after the first 90 days of total stay ends.
  6. If you are full vaccinated you can do the "Test and Go" option. You will need to register on the "Thailand Pass" website that does not open until Monday November first. Site here. https://tp.consular.go.th/ Not sure exactly the process will be like. You should do your flight reservation to here ahead of time. The Mor Chana app being installed on your phone is not needed until your arrive.
  7. Your wife will show her US passport to the airline to prove she is legally in the US and her Thai passport to prove she does not need a visa to enter Thailand. Then when entering Thailand she will use her passport. She never let Thai immigration see her US passport. Then when she leaves Thailand she will show Thai passport and US passport to prove she does not need a visa for the US to the airline. The she will Thai passport to immigration. She will not let immigration see her US passport.
  8. Not really since the final approval would not be done by a officer at a local immigration office.
  9. That is not correct. Only certain officers are allowed to waive certain requirements. This is what the immigration order 327/2557 for extensions of stay states. "5. In the case where an alien applicant does not meet the full qualifications stipulated by the criteria herein or in other cases not specified in this Order but a competent officer equivalent to or higher than inspector is of the opinion that the alien has legitimate reason for staying in the Kingdom of Thailand, the application shall be forwarded to the Commander of the Royal Thai Police or an authorized competent officer for further consideration of the alien's application."
  10. No and No. A re-entry permit only keeps the remainder of the permit to stay it is issued for valid when you enter the country and it expires on the last day of that permit to stay.
  11. Their website is mostly in Thai now. https://rtehanoi.thaiembassy.org/th/index I used google translate to help me but found very little info about visa applications. I had no luck finding the requirements for a non-o visa based upon marriage on the site. You should contact them about their requirements. https://rtehanoi.thaiembassy.org/th/page/26656-working-hours-visa-section?menu=5d7de15d15e39c3484001bb7
  12. Some immigration offices do not consider leaving the country as canceling it. I think the reason that they wanted to see it was canceled due to many people leaving the country without informing their employer by formally resigning from their job. It is written requirement to cancel a work permit when your job ends.
  13. They should not ask about the reason since that is what the affidavit your complete is for. You could put awaiting for approval documents for a visa application or just covid 19.
  14. i did not write you had to leave the country. Apparently you entered the country and changed it to a non-b visa. That will not be a problem to change the reason for your extension. As I wrote you will need to cancel your current extension of stay (jt is not visa) before you can apply for your new extension based upon retirement. Your work permit can be canceled just before you cancel your extension at the immigration office that issued it. You will need a termination letter to cancel it. If you gon to immigration before the date on the termination letter they will post date the cancelation to the date on the letter to give your more time to apply for your new extension.
  15. But nether the embassy or consulate in Vietnam is using the site. Applications are only done in person.
  16. Previously the Thai embassy and the consulate in Ho Chi Minh City were issuing non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai to any nationality. See this page for the requirements at the consulate. https://hochiminh.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/non-immigrant-o-accompanying-thai-spouse-and-family-members The https://tp.consular.go.th/ site is only for applying for a Thailand Pass for entry to Thailand. Before planning a trip to Vietnam you need to check their current requirements for entry. Edit: Appointment site for the consulate. https://booking.setmore.com/scheduleappointment/f8af2588-daa5-4e23-9bea-6b35c5e06758/services/1fd945a8-1937-43af-99b3-51b251017d1a
  17. Not directly related to visas and extensions. Moved to the covid forum.
  18. It is rubbish info from a embassy. That are many years out of date with their info for visa exempt entries that they don't normally have anything to with. See my earlier post about the extension where i post the clause of the immigration order that has allowed them since 2014 and that has not been changed.
  19. It would be best for him to apply for a non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai. One for retirement would require proof of having 90 days of medical insurance to apply for it. Since they got married in the UK that will complicate applying for a one extension of stay based upon marriage since it requires registering their foreign marriage at a Amphoe to get a Kor Ror 22 marriage registry that immigration requires. He should get his marriage certificate legalized before the leaving the UK that is the primary requirement for the foreign marriage registration. There is some info in the file from UK embassy here that includes doing it by mail but that can be ignored since he is in the UK. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/714089/Legalisation_info_June_2018.pdf After getting here he would have to have their marriage certificate translated to Thai and have it certified by the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA in Bangkok. Has he been fully vaccinated for covid 19? If he has been he would only need to spend on night in AQ or SHA+ hotel while waiting for a negative covid 19 test. Starting Monday the 31st he would apply for a Thailand Pass instead of a certificate of entry. See: https://tp.consular.go.th/
  20. You do not need to apply for a tourist visa for a stay of less than 60 days. You should be able to do a visa application online using a IPad. See: https://thaievisa.go.th/ The Thailand Pass is new so there is not a lot of info about it. The COE website has this on the first page. No mention of Safari as you can see. If you have problems with Safari perhaps try installing Chrome or Firefox.
  21. That is not required for any extension of stay application at this time at immigration. In a year it may needed when extending a entry from a Non-OA visa.
  22. There are no changes to the requirements or procedure to a apply for a a 30 day extension of your visa exempt entry. You do though need to be prepared to show a ticket out of the country within 30 days of arrival to the airline when checking in for your flight to here.
  23. It can be applied for online but the last time I looked at the requirements mailing the international vaccination certificate was not available. If outside Bangkok you can apply for it a the local Department of Public Health office for a fee of 50 baht.
  24. If it is your first extension then according to my date calculator your report will be due on January 15th.
  25. If you entered on a non-o visa and then applied for a extension of stay your first report is due 90 days from the day you applied for the extension. The first extension application is considered as being equal to doing a report.
