  1. I have always found Australia post to be slow. Even before covid my packages were often taking 4 weeks to get delivered. Pretty hopeless compared to Europe ....1 week.
  2. Same in Petchabun. No appointment, empty immigration , 5 minutes. However , they do break for lunch ...12.00 until 1.00 pm
  3. Probably too late for this but a change of environment might patch things up a bit. Not the best of timing but get in the car together and take a short two day road trip. Stay in a nice hotel somewhere, share a bottle of wine together and eat a nice takeaway if you cant eat out.( leave the child with relatives ) Wife and I luv each other , no problems but the routine just gets a bit dull sometimes. Whenever we go away somewhere , she de stresses from looking after her elderly mother and its back to horizontal activities , fine dining and a bottle of the red stuff in the hotel room. Does us both the world of good to get away and do something different.
  4. Get that spelling verified by someone else. Might be missing a tone mark.
  5. If you can get it that far, take it to a repair shop specializing in electrics , explain the problem ,and have them run a diagnostics check on it.
  6. The grass isn't always greener abroad. Stick to your 4 trips abroad a year , just make them a bit longer. As others have said , right now the country is closed anyway. Go to Cairns for a week or two. Tropical feel and lots of Japanese women around. At least that's what a friend who lives there 6 months of a year tells me.
  7. These pictures just demonstrate the continued incompetence of the vaccine distribution. If this is the best they can manage then we can expect to see a continuing rise in infections.
  8. Which 3 ? I wouldn't mind contributing to a crowd funding wip around if it meant getting rid of a lot more.
  9. Now if I cast my mind back I remember what Yingluck was sentenced to 5 years for : Former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has been found guilty of criminal negligence and sentenced in absentia to five years in prison. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-41410047 That Cost a lot of money. Question now is. Has Prayuth been negligent in acquiring vaccines and what is it costing .
  10. So a scenario is out there floating around that could see a former convicted drug smuggler in charge of vaccine acquirement. I wonder how many Moderna vaccines you can squeeze into a diplomatic bag or two.
  11. Prayuth and Prawit et al become deck chair attendants TAT strategists continue to get paid for making ludicrous announcements for our continued amusement. The pandemic continues . Long haul holidays become even more difficult with quarantines , latest vaccinations, expensive insurance etc. Everyone buys a van, converts it to a camper and goes stealth camping all over the place but not in Thailand
  12. Strange. When it was the yellow shirt loyalists backed by the army and the unmentionable vs the red shirt pro democracy pro Shinawatras , this forum would be buzzing with comments from admirers of both factions. Whereas these protests in which we see previous antagonists if not exactly united then at least protesting for a common cause, seems to not have evoked the strong feelings of before. Is everybody worn out and tired of it all ?
  13. Yup we do like driving. Going a bit stir crazy actually having not travelled much since April 2020. Any excuse to get out in the car for a couple of hours is seized upon. Just been today in fact. 5 minutes in and out then into town where I at last managed to get some cheese for my home made pizza . ( No decent cheese available locally at the moment.
  14. Fortunately I'm only an hours drive away from my immigration office. Would hate to have to faf about trying to do it online. As it is, I'm in and out in 5 minutes then a bit of shopping and home.
  15. Some of our strange American cousins not only don't want to wear a mask they are hassling those that do ? Wonder if these people are also daft enough to have an issue with vaccines.
  16. Hottest day EVER in Europe 119.8 F 48.3 C https://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/index.html Scorchio
  17. No. Thaksin or his sister are the best you can hope for right now. If this is tough to swallow best get used to more government by the military. Protesters get their wish, Prayuth resigns and Prawit takes over. Protesters happy and go home to celebrate their victory . Yea right
  18. Their treatment of the Uighurs and Kazahks ( Chinese citizens ) makes a mockery of that statement. What the Chinese communist party is committed to is its own self preservation and embroiling it's citizens in it's own expansionist ideals . It's belligerent claims to the entire South China Sea and its avowed intent to conquer Taiwan by force hardly demonstrates a high regard for the welfare of it's own citizens who may end up having to pay in blood for these acts of aggression . It was the lack of Chinese transparency in the first place that got control of covid off to such a bad start, arresting whistle blowers and trying to cover things up. It does not console me in any way that the CCP continues in its flagrant human rights abuses against it's own citizens but if you want praise the CCPs response to the pandemic it has given the world then feel free to do so , even if it is entirely irrelevant.
  19. From the link I posted on page 4 of this thread , an article from a current Israeli newspaper regarding the current situation. The last paragraph of that article : Health Ministry data released Monday showed that fully vaccinated individuals made up most of the new cases and most of those hospitalized in moderate condition or worse Vaccines are primarily meant to reduce the symptoms of a covid infected person so that they are less severe and less likely to result in death. Their ability to prevent infection in the first place is sadly not guaranteed. After vaccination continued vigilance is still required.
