Covid extensions after March 25?
aussiexpat replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Wow, try applying for a covid extension without the Affidavit. It is the main form replacing the required Embassy letter that no-one can get. -
Covid extensions after March 25?
aussiexpat replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not true, the covid extension requires an Embassy letter stating you cannot return home. Instead of this Embassy letter you can sign an affidavit which clearly states that you cannot return to your own country due to covid (box 1). Affadavit Box 2 states that your embassy does not issue a letter stating that you cannot return to your own country due to covid. So covid extension definitely related to home country -

Disagree, being fully vaxed for quarantine free travel is the new 'normal'. Vax certificate expected just like no need to say you need a passport or flight ticket -
Covid extensions after March 25?
aussiexpat replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why should open land borders have anything to do with granting a covid extension? Most countries now have regular commercial flights from Thailand without quarantine, including close neighbors Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and Phillipines. I doubt they'll renew the covid extension past 25 March as even now most people signing the affidavit that they can't enter their home country due covid is lying (I know I did) -

Of course, I thought being fully vaxed for travel went without saying -
Vietnam is a great option if you're one of the 13 countries who don't require a visa (a 24 hr prior departure ATK is all that's required) (I'm thinking US, Australia and New Zealand may not yet be forgiven for the 50 years ago Vietnam War?) "Vietnam’s government on March 15 agreed to resume its visa exemption policy for 13 countries for up to 15 days regardless of the purpose of entry. This applies to citizens of Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the UK" https://www.vietnam-briefing.com/news/covid-19-vietnam-travel-updates-restrictions.html/

Ridiculous, from Aus Qantas and Singapore Airlines require a PCR to board anyway so no change. The mandatry insurance and one day quarantine with 2 covid tests in 5 days remains the primary obstacle to tourism (along with the forced quarantine for being a close contact) Meanwhile, Phillipines. Singapore, Cambodia and Vietnam have got it right with just a Covid test before flight to enter -
So it's cheaper to go to Bangkok and stay a night in 2000 baht hotel and then pay 1500 baht PCR with result given within 12 hours. Plus you get to experience a night in Bangkok ????

The new Hemmingways on Soi Honey is looking pretty close to finished (looks pretty nice inside) I just had a look at Hemmingways in Jomtien (assume same owner) and with a cheese burger at 325 Baht and bottle beer at 95 it doesn't look like a Retox replacement ???? Maybe they'll give it to central Pattaya cheaper?

Is that a PCR and ATK with certificate and done quickly for flight as it just looks like a normal test?

The entry stamp counts day of arrival and day of departure in the 30 days. So if you arrive 1 April, your stamp will be until 30 april

From the same link I added above The e-visa government website link is now open for visa submissions. Vietnam’s government on March 15 agreed to resume its visa exemption policy for 13 countries for up to 15 days regardless of the purpose of entry. This applies to citizens of Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the UK

Thanks, the M.T. inter medical lab looks good for ATK at 690 baht, result 1-2 hours (PCR at 2900, result 24-36 hours) http://www.mtinterlab.co/

I'm also looking for this in Pattaya and have not had any luck web searching. I only need ATK certificate so Im currently planning to stay in Bangkok on my last night before flight as "Medconsult" was recommended in the Bangkok forum. It looks pretty good at 500 Baht formal ATK (15 minute result) and 1500 baht PCR (12-48 hours result) https://www.medconsultasia.com/covidtesting/

Vietnam is officially open for a visa run with just a PCR within 72 hours of entry, or formal ATK within 24 hours of entry https://www.vietnam-briefing.com/news/covid-19-vietnam-travel-updates-restrictions.html/

Public Service Announcement - Thai Pass
aussiexpat replied to howlee101's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If only people read the forum before posting breaking news that has constantly been reported for months... This email scam is even warned in the Thai pass application site so everyone should know about it before they even apply -
where to report ATK test result?
aussiexpat replied to SCOTT FITZGERSLD's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How's your tin foil hat? Test your cat with an ATK and upload the pic of the negative result and you'll be fine ..if no cat, test the girlfriend/wife, how would anyone possibly know who the ATK was carried out on -

aussiexpat replied to Dan747's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I just received my 4th email and I only applied for Thai Pass once in Dec. Been here since 14 Jan but still get them (in my junk folder as reported 1st one as spam) -
Another Thailand Pass "HACK"
aussiexpat replied to Dan747's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's not "another Thai Pass Hack" It's the exact same one which the Thai Pass application site warns us about for months and as people on here have raised numerous threads about... Real question is why this leak of data still continues when they've known about it for months -
Can tourists still extend 30 days?
aussiexpat replied to Phoenixsun28's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
From Germany it's a 30 day visa exempt entry (not visa on arrival which is 15 days). Visa exempt allows a 30 day extension of stay, which is added to the expiry date, not from the application date so no problem applying before. Pre-covid I got an extension 2 days after arrival stating I wanted to sign up for Thai language course, however it's much busier now with all the covid extensions so each office may be different. In Feb I applied 2 weeks before expiry (Jomtien) and got the extension no problem -
