Kind of a big part of why Thailand is the way it is with the government it deserves Sadly Thai's are taught from young not to question ( some may interpret as minding their own business) But sadly it is much more. It is why they never question a doctor,teacher,police,government official etc etc But it goes deeper & more linked to a class system hi-so/lo-so obedience As you said in your first post most would be quiet basically so the Puu Yai Baan is not losing the face he obviously deserves to lose for not using funds probably sent for these things Fortunately there is a new younger generation of Thai's coming up that will likely change this & more or die trying

So true & sadly these days many people go to many "so called" specialists. These specialist seem as you said to only ever treat symptoms. It is as if they are all getting a commission on how many scripts they write? Also the days of having a good general doc watch over your total health are gone. You had better always do this yourself & double check if you take any scripts, do they have bad interactions with other scripts you take? I saw this with my parents I take nothing & in the past if I started to have say high blood pressure I looked into my diet made changes & now have great BP averages 115/70 Same for cholesterol changes saw improvements Yet when I first showed high BP the doctor said Oh need to get you kn BP meds pronto So as you say they never say Oh your BP is high what do you eat/do? These days I always say our first line of defense is stay out of the whole medical system. Take care of ourselves as best we can. Check things ourselves & try our best to fix problems as they arise. Of course there will always be a need for medical services but not every little thing/symptom needs a drug to fix

Hi Sorry to hear about the loss of your friends ???? But I would like to ask what was the condition of your average friend? Meaning were they fit or not? Did they smoke? Drink regularly? Overweight? I am asking because I have seen both sides even here in the West & medical care or not it did not matter for many with tons of medical treatment. They took their daily cocktail of pills to ease Blood pressure/Cholesterol/Heart rhythms etc etc Because they tended to think they could party as they always did, eat what they always ate regardless of what it was doing to them. Rather than make some changes that would have helped My parents were the same way & died in their early 70's but their parents went into their late 80's easily as they did not have the same habits. Not that it matters as I always say folks should live their life the way they want regardless, but since this thread is semi claiming it was Thailand or lack of medical care in Thailand that causes shorter life span I would like to know what type of person are we talking about?

Yes it is possible & we also sold our CM condo in 2016 for near double what we paid in 2004 but...It was still beans compared to what our home in the West even just appreciated in the 7 years we were gone. Also we could if we wanted to buy that CM condo back or one in same building for less than we sold. The opposite is true here But we did keep our house in the Thai countryside & are anxious to return now that the covid nonsense is dying down. We do love Thailand ????

Very True & in many ways useful as it most likely appreciated many times over what any Thai condo or home did. Plus in an emergency it makes reintegrations that much easier as your not thrown into rental price shock

As others have said yes with O-A you need insurance But I wonder if it might be better to use an agent & switch to O retirement which does not (if that switch is possible)

Hiya I had something similar but due to an accident You should check out a partial they work quite well That aside if your remaining teeth are in bad shape don't fear a denture especially on the upper They work really well now & fit so well due to the large area of roof of mouth. no adhesives are needed & they look great not to mention never needing to suffer a cavity etc again Now lowers I don't know about & imagine a denture will not stay put as well but a partial there is fine (I have one with two molars on each side) About implants yes they have these posts now that the denture snaps on if you want but...Implants are not always possible if you do not have the bone to hold them Also they are high maintenance with deep cleaning needed etc or your body can in fact reject them & that is after spending a lot on them, So again partials work great & in a way your remaining teeth act as the implants that hole that partial in place Also like the dentures Partials have come a long way & none will even know you have one as they do not use that old style wire loop around a tooth anymore. Everything is hidden Good Luck!
