  1. Did you even brother looking at their website?
  2. According to the NHS website: Hypothermia So if that reading is accurate, you could be in a spot of bother. However all things considered, including your continued ability to post coherently on here, I suspect it may not be accurate.
  3. What a jolly old pair of misanthropes you two are.
  4. Actual, real world experience in multiple countries has shown that culling does not work. As the World Animal Protection organisation says on their website: Stray dog population management It's also ineffective against rabies. The Global Alliance for Rabies Control states unequivocally as follows, "mass dog culling is not an effective method for rabies control." It can even be counter-productive. As the paper below states: GARC position paper on culling
  5. He was sentenced originally to 8 years but that was already commuted to one year by the king. Thai king commutes former PM Thaksin's prison sentence to one year
  6. As they say where I come from, "True as I'm riding this bike."
  7. Another article about Nio/WeLion's solid state EV batteries being available in volume soon. As it mentions, such batteries are safer, charge faster and drive farther. WeLion reportedly expects to send NIO 150 kWh solid-state batteries at volume in Q2 2024
  8. If there was a murder committed here, it was not committed in Thailand. The decomposed legs were found in an incoming shipment from the US.
  9. That does sound a bit pricey considering the alternatives. Just for comparison, at the other end of the scale there was this post earlier in the year. https://aseannow.com/topic/1282268-low-cost-cataract-surgery/
  10. Interesting thought process there - reading between the lines it sounds as if you're concerned that seeing "gay scenes" could somehow cause young heterosexuals to become gay. If so, do you also believe the opposite - that watching heterosexual sex scenes could make young gay people straight? Or does it only go in one direction?
  11. And when I was a kid, there was no depiction of men and women having sex on TV either. (Movies perhaps, but then as a kid I couldn't get in to watch that category of movies, of course). Times change, social mores change.
  12. Did you even bother reading the article? According to it - and as per a statement by the vehicle owner, "under the hood" is exactly where the fire started. Which as you rightly point out, is where petrol vehicle fires normally start. "The police officer who owned the vehicle told reporters that he was heading back from Patong to his house in Mueang Phuket. All of a sudden, smoke began coming out from the engine room in front."
  13. You need to read the sentence in its entirety, to get the proper sense of what is meant here. If you take the whole thing, it's clear that it's talking about the fact that her body was found, "Within the premises, [...] in proximity to the entrance."
  14. The average range of an ICE vehicle according to industry figures, is 320-640 kilometres, so that must be a relatively uncommon ICE vehicle. I've owned many and none had a range anywhere near 1,000km. Most had a range of between 450 and 650 km, depending on whether I was doing urban or motorway driving. Anyway, there are already a number of EV's with a range of 1,000km or thereabouts (I've posted about some of them on other threads) and while they might not become the norm (just as 1,000 km range ICE vehicles are not the norm) I suspect EV's doing 650 km or more on a full charge (like the BYD Seal, for example) will soon be common.
  15. For those saying they'd only ever consider an EV if it gave them equivalent or better range than an ICE vehicle, here's another contender to consider. NIO Revolutionizes Electric Vehicles with Solid-State Battery Pack Exceeding 930 km Range Solid state batteries also promise shorter charging times, especially once faster chargers are available. It's a bit pricey though, with the more powerful battery model (that gives the longest range) costing around US $60,000.
  16. I don't think you've quite grasped the meaning of the phrase I quoted.
  17. There's an old saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I suspect the same is true with dirty looks.
  18. No, long-sighted actually. It could also be because, I (like others who have already commented) usually pay scant attention to what others' attitude towards me is, when going about my daily routine.
  19. Are you talking about doing this on a True ID TV box (which uses the Android TV OS) or something else? Because if it's a True ID TV box, you can get games without spoilers by going into the TV Guide, and going back to the original broadcast using the calendar. Also, if you have the True ID app on your phone or tablet, you can do it there by going into Live TV, then using catch up also. Once it's playing on your phone, you should be able to cast it to your Android TV.
  20. You can call bs on me as well then, because (as far as I'm aware) I've never received any dirty looks from anyone while in Thailand. Especially not when ordering 'farang' food in a place that is obviously set up to serve it (otherwise it wouldn't be on the menu).
  21. It seems that the number of EV charging stations is multiplying rapidly these days. Not that I check very often, but I just noticed on Google Maps that there are a whole bunch of new ones in Hua Hin, including new names (to me at least) like Sharge, Virta and HAUP. There are also two new "Porsche Destination Charging Stations" and apparently a new Altervim* charger at (or planned for) Market Village. This brings the total in Hua Hin (at a rough count) to about 20 by including Google Maps and PlugShare lists, which I reckon is as many, if not more than, the number of petrol/diesel service stations in town. *Altervim and Lotus have formed a partnership that will see 400 new charging stations installed at Lotus supermarkets throughout the country by next year, with 100 already operating.
  22. Nothing in the OP suggests that it does. The paragraph regarding mask wearing is as follows: "Members of the public are advised to wear face masks, maintain social distancing in crowded places and where air circulation is poor and wash their hands frequently, citing a rising trend in COVID-19 infections." Numbers of cases for various other diseases (including Dengue) are mentioned later on in the article, but not in conjunction with the advice on wearing masks.
  23. Although, as that dictionary example showing its usage in this sense indicates, it should be "zoomed off" not just "zoomed" by itself. So in normal usage, it would be: "A TRUCK DRIVER who zoomed off to escape a police search ..."
  24. Except that credit and debit cards never show a day of the month for expiry, only the month and year. As @richard_smith237says, it is a little bit funny.
  25. Not so - when I mentioned MG a few years ago to my nearly 30 year-old daughter, she said she'd never heard of the brand before.
