  1. Hat Yai are a little more lenient, the list of requirements states within 6 months, but I've never tested it. Wife pops into the amphur the same week as I'm making the application.
  2. Where does the article mention tourism? It's about "enhancing regional transport in southern Thailand" doesn't mention tourism at all.
  3. Likewise. I signed up from Thailand in 2018, beyond the initial data required to set up the account, proof of ID and address, I've not had to supply any further details.
  4. A valid point that most westerners fail to grasp, tourism in southern Thailand is not about westerners, but visitors from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia who have a better grasp of the realities and dangers. That said whilst Malaysians do indeed love Songkhla, they're not going to detour 150km via Phatthalung to use this bridge!
  5. Goods traffic to/from Songkhla deep sea port and the oil terminal. .
  6. It doesn't go to Songkhla Town, rather the bridge connects to the spit of land north of Meung Songkhla and the districts of Ranot, Sathing Phra and Singha Nakhorn, the last contains the Songkhla deep sea port. The spit of land is separated from Songkhla Town by the channel that empties Lake Songkhla, there's a car ferry connecting the two. The new bridge is primarily intended for goods traffic to the port.
  7. And neither have you. It's not whinging, all I'm pointing out is Google will give you and idea but it doesn't show you availability.
  8. I couldn't find any available in Hat Yai, which is why I have one in Bangkok. Google all you want, but that won't tell you if they actually have any boxes available. .
  9. Vivaldi is a spin off from the Opera browser that was bought by a Chinese group in 2016. The original developers of Opera started Vivaldi. Like Brave it has built in ad blockers and privacy features. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivaldi_(web_browser)
  10. It always surprises me when people say they don't keep track of their finances.
  11. Likewise, but buying a new laptop here, the MS Money CD was in the UK, that was when I discovered, whilst Microsoft had discontinued MS Money, Microsoft had made a final version, MS Money Plus Sunset Edition, available for free.
  12. Plenty of Office keys available on eBay reasonably priced.
  13. Close down TAT, the ultimate purveyors of fake news
  14. Which bank? I have a box with Krungsri, Pleochit, and they have a habit of doubling the rental every 5 years. It's gradually increased from Bht535 per year, to 1070, then 2140 if they follow the pattern I expect it to jump to Bht4280 next year.
  15. Well it's fairly normal, once a fashion becomes ubiquitous then to not follow that fashion becomes the new fashion. I was quite staggered on a trip to the UK this summer to see every man and his dog was now 'inked'.
  16. But you're not inspecting their bill are you, staff no doubt simply note they brought their own and add any corkage to the bill. These things depend on the bar, the more expensive the higher the corkage, I'd be surprised if places don't charge because obviously bringing your own booze deprives them of income.
  17. It's quite common for people to bring their own wines & spirits to music bars in Hat Yai, corkage fee is usually Bht200. Just ask at the venue if it's OK and what the corkage fee would be.
  18. Either or, just don't poop whilst weighing yourself
