  1. Prayut has an election at the end of this year (probably). He might choose (or be commanded) to start lowering restrictions on travel and other mandates and be seen as the "saviour" in ending Covid here. Boris Johnson did the same in the UK after massive criticism of his 'partying' in Govt house, and his cabinet ignoring all their own imposed rules.
  2. Feel sorry for the resort, hotel, restaurant operators on Samet. They were struggling before this stupid edict from Rayong provincial "authority", and to be fair, the lady from the Tourism Association of Koh Samet had been fighting other ridiculous commands from the same junta stooge previous to this also. Will be a bleak season for Samet now. Especially with all that oil on the way..
  3. Is it so difficult to arrange that here? As opposed to missing such an important exam due to some dodgy ATK result..
  4. Lots of rumours about this case. One of the most sensational was who was seen wearing the blue diamond and the other stolen pieces at society functions around Bangkok.
  5. Will try that, thanks. The ones i buy seem to take forever to ripen. The window from cannonball hardness to rancid mush seemingly around 30 minutes..
  6. Obviously cobbled together by a "committee" of vested interest Generals.. I thought soldiers were supposed to be brave.?
  7. Thailand just announced resumption of (no-quarantine) Test and Go scheme. ???? Starting Feb 1st https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2250675/test-go-quarantine-free-entry-to-resume-feb-1
  8. Should be renamed "Test & Go; Stop - Go". I wonder if insurance companies will now pay out for asymptomatic tourists having to undergo hospital stays for the flaky PCR-positive test if found on arrival?
  9. No helmet, insurance, tax or driver's license. But it's ok, was wearing a mask.
  10. Ditto, here. Making the trip in April. Hopefully a groundswell of common sense is now finally appearing at both sides of the trip.
  11. If I was in Bangkok, I'd take you up on your offer. Much appreciated. ???? I just ordered some creatine last week before I started the thread, and was miffed at the price hike, tbh.
  12. It benefits the notion and push for mandatory vaccines for children.
  13. Whey protein has increased a little (around 10-15%), but creatine powder has actually doubled in price since the end of last year. (There are cheaper brands, but I suspect they use fillers). I don't use all that much whey, tbh. Around 1-1/2 scoops after weights / 4 times a week.
  14. It (now) accounts for less than <10% of the Thai GDP, but employs (or used to employ) a vast amount of Thai people. Meanwhile, in manufacturing, farming, petrochemical, and other Thai industries that comprise the other 90%, similar problems (relating to Covid regulations) are happening. Despite what the Thai SET and media are reporting.
  15. Israel is on it's 4th round of Pfizer "boosters" now. Mandated by law. Indicating that these novel vaccines (terms changed to allow the word "vaccine" to apply) are a total failure. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/23/world/middleeast/israel-vaccine-4th-dose.html
  16. And everyday people getting back to work, earn a living, and some sense of normality again.? The Thai Govt couldn't be doing a better job of trying to crash the economy if they tried... Maybe that is the goal..
  17. Just give him a nice watch, and he'll sign whatever you want.
  18. Yep. Thai Govt is totally Bangkok-centric and empathy-free when applying law here. They do not give a flying f... about anyone outside their little clique
  19. Great way for this Junta to show bravery and utter contempt to it's long-running mortal enemy: The Thai populace.
  20. Ramping up fear & hysteria and thus manufacturing consent for children (who have virtually zero-risk from Covid) to be jabbed with the myocarditis-inducing Pfizer vaccine. Great job.
  21. Link: Price Hikes If you use these supplements for weight training or fitness, you'll have noticed big price hikes from late last year, due to Covid-related supply chain problems. ???? Do you have any recommendations for quality brands that are still reasonably priced? There may be other supplement types that are similarly hit. Please add any info.
  22. Soy contains estrogen. Men wanting to maintain testosterone levels might want to stay away from it. (It's also used a lot in prison food to keep testosterone levels low = prison populations docile). Also: https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/diet-nutrition/a20707020/is-soy-good-or-bad-for-you/
