  1. I don't want to create a long list of yellow book threads. Google for: Check age of threads.
  2. You start with obtaining a "yellow housebook". Procedure can be simple or close to impossible. You are exposed to arbitrary handling at the district office (amphoe). For me (married to Thai), upcountry it was really easy. Simple passport translation by local translator and copies copies copies. Name transcript was ready from marriage documents. Procedure for yellow book includes creating a 13 digit foreigner ID analogue to the Thai persons ID. Also your name is transcribed to Thai script. Can be funny. Some say this ID nowadays is a valid tax ID (I can't confirm, never bothered about the much hyped tax for foreigner topic). Whether yellow book and pink card are accepted also varies from office to office. Here it's quite handy for proof of address at the DLT (motor office). Pattaya will deny (from reports). Toyota dealer even registered my new car based on this pink card. Doctors assistant will be happy to file you under the pink card details. Which region do you live? Living on one year extension? Visa type? Yes, try to check what your district office requires. Depending on that you can decide whether it's worth the office. Worst cases: been sent to your consulate in Bangkok for passport "verification" and then to foreign ministry (apostille) etc. Would have given up in such case. Tons of older threads about the topic...
  3. Confusion to the max 😁 Don't hold WISE responsible. Thai bank (BoT) get paranoid.
  4. Unfortunately yes: only with Kasikorn Bank, Bangkok Bank and SCB such transfers (in one) are possible. SCB has 1.5 million limit from last what I read This 50k crazyness goes since a while. Who wants to do 17 transfers to reach 800k+.
  5. I miss the Brunei forum, was such an ocean of tranquility
  6. Yawn, you get so tired reading about the next campaign. Then you drive down beach rd and see hundreds of rent a bike occupying most of the left lane. Same for some Sois like Soi Post and others. Same story again and again. It's a Mafia town, a country with little policing what can you expect.
  7. Heaven help it's May! And they will never know whether to attract the masses from China or India or should continue to dream about the high spending quality tourists (which they scared away long ago).
  8. The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya is a wooden self-made construction and helmets are mandatory. No helmet no entry (guess you rent it at the entrance). Nothing to do with Chinese. Even the girls on social media do their selfies with helmet.
  9. Exactly. Which Thai would wait at a stupid red light at an empty intersection The traffic lights here are switching stupidly in fixed time intervals. No smart adapting to traffic. How much time have I spent staring at empty intersections...
  10. +1 of the 50 or so daily. Sad but true. No more comment needed.
  11. The description of the incident is somewhat unclear. But I have no idea why the outlet at the station could cause this accident. Much likely a faulty charger that connected 230V to the USB cable.
  12. List of all supported banks: Supported recipient banks: Bangkok Bank Public Company Kasikorn Bank Krung Thai Bank Siam Commercial Bank CIMB Thai Bank Bank Of Ayudhya (Krungsri bank) Kiatnakin Phatra Bank Two very popular banks with the 50k limit. (would immigration like to see multiple transfer of 50k and rest?) That will affect some?
  13. Just stumbled upon this and want to bump it as it is not limited to GSB bank. New thread? Another major bank is ttb (former Thai military bank). Combined with the limit of 49999 Baht for many banks it means practically that only these three banks are usable with WISE for most purposes. Bangkok Bank Public Company 2,000,000 Kasikorn Bank 2,000,000 Siam Commercial Bank 1,499,999 Other recipient banks 49,999 Study the post above from JB300 and read the link he provided. https://wise.com/help/articles/2932335/guide-to-thb-transfers
  14. Names as already mentioned. Advice shop e.g. Take the effort to visit a shop. SSD for backup? Waste of money and lesser life expectancy. Ignorant question: does such a Mac have USB-C or what's the preferred connection?
  15. Highway 9? I guess that's on a parallel road to the motorway?
  16. Always a bit difficult to interpret today/tomorrow. Simply: it's now Monday, May 12th. No more booze ban. Substitute holiday (government / Immigration closed). Practically no other implications. Not sure about banks. Buddhist holiday and local elections were yesterday, Sunday May 11th.
  17. Big downturn compared to Thaivisa. Much less Thai related. Allowing even promoting conspiracy theories, obscure stuff of all kind. US politics to the max. Disgusting war of words. Have stopped even reading quickly. And these bombastic/kitschy stories displaying as news. Unbearable.
  18. Forgot about May 9. So it's a four(4) day holiday period which might affect transfer/credited date.
  19. Best known since 1215 in the Magna Carta. Vaguely remember some history lesson in school. But who cares about this outdated stuff
  20. I rarely use my foreign credit card. When possible Thai debit card or direct debit/transfer. Thai debit cards e.g. from SCB can be configured to the finest detail. Usage, countries, limits...
